Abstract

Cultural approaches in interior design can build spatial identity while reflecting cultural values. Food courts illustrate how dining spaces evolve into communal environments that support social interaction and cultural expression. This study examines the representation of contemporary Chinese cultural elements in the ornament design of the Pondok Indah Mall 2 food court in Jakarta. Using a research-through-design method, traditional elements such as lanterns, calligraphy scrolls, and symbolic motifs are reinterpreted into contemporary interior features. The main design intervention transforms structural pillars into large-scale ornaments inspired by Chinese scrolls and modular lantern installations that function as lighting and spatial markers. Traditional symbolism is translated into simplified geometric forms and modern materials to meet functional and aesthetic needs. The resulting design demonstrates how cultural heritage can be adaptively transformed into contemporary interior spaces, strengthening spatial identity and enhancing cultural appreciation within urban public environments.

Abstract

The development of national education requires Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers who are not only legally and academically competent but also ethically and spiritually grounded. This study analyzes the concept of teacher professionalism through a comparative content analysis between Law No. 14 of 2005 on Teachers and Lecturers and the classical Islamic ethical perspective in Tadzkirah Al-Sami’ wa al-Mutakallim by Badruddin Ibn Jama’ah. Using a library research design with qualitative content analysis, the study identifies two primary dimensions of professionalism: (1) formal-legal competence, encompassing pedagogical, professional, social, and personality standards as mandated by the law; and (2) moral-spiritual integrity, emphasizing sincerity (ikhlas), adab, humility, and ethical responsibility as articulated in the classical text. The analysis results in a dual-dimension professionalism model that integrates legal compliance with ethical internalization, forming a legal-ethical integrative framework for IRE teacher development. This model demonstrates that holistic professionalism requires the alignment of technical competence, regulatory standards, and inner moral formation. The study contributes theoretically by offering a structured synthesis between modern legal frameworks and classical Islamic educational ethics in shaping contemporary IRE teacher professionalism.

integrating revealed knowledge with the demands of modern education. At SMP El Dzikir Bulu Sukoharjo, the Qur’an and Hadith are positioned as the primary sources of knowledge in the curriculum, yet their epistemological role requires deeper analysis. This research aims to examine the epistemology of Islamic education and the role of the Qur’an and Hadith in the formulation and implementation of the school curriculum. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal for curriculum, and Islamic education teachers, supported by observations and document analysis. The data were analyzed using a descriptive-interpretative method. The findings reveal that the educational epistemology at SMP El Dzikir is based on a non-dichotomous paradigm integrating naqli (revelation-based) and aqli (reason-based) knowledge. The Qur’an functions as the primary source of knowledge, while the Hadith serves as its interpreter in shaping curriculum and learning, leading to a holistic Islamic education oriented toward the formation of rabbani character.

Abstract

This article examines Arabic as an epistemological foundation of Islamic education and Qur’anic exegesis. Moving beyond instrumental and symbolic conceptions of language, it argues that Arabic functions as an epistemological medium through which Islamic knowledge is constructed, Qur’anic meaning is produced, and interpretive authority and validity are established. Employing a conceptual integrative literature review, the study synthesizes scholarship from Arabic linguistics, Qur’anic studies, and Islamic education to demonstrate that meaning, authority, and epistemic legitimacy are linguistically mediated through Arabic semantic, syntactic, rhetorical, and phonetic structures. The analysis further highlights the epistemic consequences of detaching Islamic education from Arabic linguistic competence. While translation and multilingual pedagogical practices broaden access to religious knowledge, they necessarily involve interpretive transformation rather than semantic equivalence, with implications for depth of understanding, interpretive plurality, and epistemic accountability. Drawing on illustrative insights from non-Arabophone Muslim societies, the article clarifies how linguistic mediation becomes particularly visible in multilingual educational and interpretive contexts. By reframing Arabic from an auxiliary component to an epistemological foundation, this study contributes to contemporary debates on language, interpretation, and education in Islamic studies and offers a conceptual framework for critically evaluating pedagogical and interpretive practices within an increasingly mediated religious landscape.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of state ideology on citizen nationalism. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method to analyze the relationship between ideology as the independent variable and nationalism as the dependent variable. Data were collected through research instruments that had passed validity and reliability testing, and were analyzed using the product-moment correlation technique. The results showed that state ideology has a strong and significant influence on citizen nationalism, with a correlation coefficient indicating a high level of relationship between the two variables. The coefficient of determination shows that ideology contributes substantially to the formation of citizen nationalism, while the remaining influence is affected by other factors not examined in this study. These findings indicate that strengthening the understanding and internalization of state ideology is an important strategy to enhance citizen nationalism in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study examines the strengthening of students’ religious character through integrative and collaborative innovations in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning. The primary issue identified is the suboptimal development of religious character indicators, particularly in the dimension of obedience in worship, resulting from the predominance of cognitively oriented instruction that insufficiently engages students in active learning processes. This research analyzes the effectiveness of implementing the cooperative learning model of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type assisted by Islamic animated videos in enhancing students’ religious character values at SMP Negeri 31 Bandar Lampung. Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, the study involved both experimental and control classes. The analysis yielded a significance value of 0.007 (< 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between the two groups. These findings affirm that the integration of STAD and Islamic animated videos is effective in strengthening religious character in an active, contextual, and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This manuscript is based on research using a qualitative literature observation method with the aim of understanding the phenomenon of the emergence of community groups who do not exercise their right to vote in general elections. The involvement of Pancasila lecturers in minimizing voting rights irregularities in elections is an important topic in this research. Various methods that have been implemented by lecturers in teaching Pancasila courses are carefully examined to see their impact on achieving this research objective. This research concludes that by strengthening Pancasila values, students are encouraged to become active and intelligent voters, thereby reducing the number of lost voting rights in general elections. The role of lecturers in minimizing abstentions is implemented through activities such as: Voter Education, Internalization of Pancasila Values, Building Political Literacy, Encouraging Active Participation as Agents of Change, Overcoming Political Apathy, Holding Discussions and Substantive Education.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of different growing media compositions and liquid organic fertilizer (POC) derived from rice washing water on the growth and yield of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The experiment used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor was the composition of growing media consisting of soil, rice husk charcoal, and goat manure with three ratios: M1 (1:1:2), M2 (2:1:1), and M3 (1:2:2). The second factor was liquid organic fertilizer from rice washing water applied at three concentrations: K1 (0%), K2 (15%), and K3 (30%). The results showed that the application of rice washing water POC at 15% concentration positively affected root length, while the growing media compositions significantly influenced leaf number, leaf width, consumption weight, and root length. The interaction between M1 and K3 produced the highest consumption weight (78.67 g), indicating that this combination was the most optimal for pakcoy growth and yield. In conclusion, the interaction between rice washing water POC and growing media significantly affected plant fresh weight, consumption weight, and root length.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of chicken manure and tofu waste–based liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on the growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.). The experiment was arranged in a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor was chicken manure applied at three doses: A1 (0.25 kg), A2 (0.5 kg), and A3 (0.75 kg per polybag). The second factor was tofu waste liquid organic fertilizer applied at three concentrations: T1 (100 ml), T2 (150 ml), and T3 (200 ml per polybag). The results showed that the application of 0.25 kg chicken manure significantly increased plant length, number of leaves, and root length. The application of tofu waste POC at 200 ml improved plant length, although its effect on other parameters was not consistent. A significant interaction between chicken manure and tofu waste POC was observed on plant growth and yield. The combination A1T2 produced the highest plant length (213.67 cm) and the best overall cucumber yield. These results indicate that the combined application of chicken manure and tofu waste POC is more effective than single fertilizer application.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of vermicompost and Trichoderma on the growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.). The experiment was arranged in a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor was vermicompost dose consisting of three levels: V1 (0.25 kg/polybag), V2 (0.50 kg/polybag), and V3 (0.75 kg/polybag). The second factor was Trichoderma dose with three levels: T1 (150 ml/polybag), T2 (200 ml/polybag), and T3 (250 ml/polybag). The results showed that vermicompost significantly affected the number of leaves, number of fruits, and fruit weight. The V1 treatment (0.25 kg/polybag) produced the best vegetative and generative growth. A significant interaction between vermicompost and Trichoderma was observed, where the V1T2 combination resulted in the highest fruit weight (956.67 g). These results indicate that the interaction between vermicompost and Trichoderma improves cucumber growth and yield, and the V1T2 combination is the most effective treatment.
