Abstract

This qualitative library research examines the ethical foundations and learning strategies for seekers of knowledge as articulated by Muhammad bin Ṣāliḥ Al-Utsaimin in Kitab al-Ilm. Using content analysis, the study systematically codes thematic units related to intention, discipline, reverence for scholars, epistemic verification, and pedagogical method. The findings reveal twelve interconnected ethical principles that function not merely as moral guidance but as an integrated epistemic framework. These include sincerity of intention, commitment to acting upon knowledge, respect for scholarly authority, patience in learning, intellectual humility, and verification of information. Complementing these ethical foundations are practical strategies such as prioritizing foundational knowledge, structured study routines, memorization and revision (murāja’ah), guided mentorship (mulāzamah), and selective academic companionship. The study argues that Al-Utsaimin’s framework represents a holistic model of Islamic pedagogy in which ethics and methodology are inseparable. In contemporary digital learning environments characterized by information overload and academic shortcuts, this framework offers a morally grounded and methodologically rigorous alternative capable of strengthening academic integrity and character formation among Generation Z learners.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the question-and-answer method and its contribution to strengthening akidah among junior high school students in Islamic Religious Education. Recent discussions on dialogic pedagogy emphasize that structured classroom dialogue and intentional questioning can foster deeper meaning-making and reflective reasoning. This research employed a qualitative case study design conducted in two Grade Eight classes at a junior high school in West Java. Data were collected through classroom observations across six learning sessions, semi-structured interviews with the teacher, focus group discussions with students, and analysis of instructional documents and student reflections. The data were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis involving familiarisation, coding, theme development, and interpretative synthesis. The findings reveal that the question-and-answer method contributed to the strengthening of students’ akidah through three interrelated mechanisms: dialogic openness for clarification, reasoning-based questioning that supports meaning construction, and corrective feedback that maintains doctrinal accuracy while encouraging participation. Observable developments included clearer articulation of the pillars of faith, more coherent reasoning when linking belief to daily decisions, and emerging reflective tendencies in written responses. The study concludes that dialogically structured questioning, when combined with supportive classroom climate and clear doctrinal anchoring, can serve as an effective pedagogical approach to fostering both conceptual understanding and reflective engagement in akidah education.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of integrating YouTube-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) to enhance students’ interest in Islamic Religious Education (IRE). A quasi-experimental post-test-only control group design was employed, involving tenth-grade students at SMK Geomatika Lampung, a vocational secondary school in Indonesia. Students’ learning interest was measured using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire, and the data were analyzed through normality, homogeneity, and independent samples t-tests. The findings revealed a statistically significant difference in learning interest between students taught using YouTube-based PjBL and those taught through conventional methods (p < 0.05). The integration of project-based learning with digital video media promoted active engagement, motivation, and positive affective responses in IRE learning. However, since the study was conducted in a single vocational school context, the findings should be interpreted cautiously and may not be generalized to all vocational secondary schools without further empirical validation. Future research involving broader and more diverse samples is recommended to strengthen generalizability.

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) is an economically important leafy vegetable that has potential for organic production. The application of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from maja fruit with goat manure will have positive impact on plant growth, yield and soil fertility improvement. This research was conducted to analyze the influences of POC from maja fruit concentration, goat manure dose, and its interaction on the growth and yield of pakcoy. The research was conducted at the village of Ngadirejo, District of Kartasura, Regency of Sukoharjo in the hamlet of Klinggen from December 2025 to January 2026. A 2-factor, 3-replication factorial CRD was used for this study. The 1st factor was the concentration of POC from maja fruit, ie (M1; 10, M2; 20, and M3; 30) ml/L, and the 2nd factor was goat manure rate ie (K1; 500, K2; 750, and K3; 1000) g/polybag) as followed by 250g of goat manure into each concentration. Plant height, leaf width, fresh weight, and root volume were observed. Data were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further subjected to DMRT at 5% level of significance whenever significant F values obtained. The K factor had a significant effect on leaf width, while other parameters were not significantly different.

Abstract

This study was conducted at the Muara Dua Sub-District Office in Prabumulih City using a quantitative approach. The research population consisted of 28 employees, and a saturated sampling technique was employed. The variables examined were Communication (X₁), Work Enthusiasm (X₂), and Work Performance (Y). Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression through SPSS software. The results indicate that partially, communication has a significant effect on work performance (t_calculated > t_table). Similarly, work enthusiasm also shows a significant influence on employee performance. Simultaneously, both variables have a strong effect on work performance, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of [insert value, e.g., 0.65 or 65%]. This finding suggests that improving communication quality and maintaining employees’ work enthusiasm are key factors in optimizing public service performance at the sub-district administrative level.

Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of the 5E Learning Cycle instructional model in improving students’ learning outcomes and academic engagement motivation in Islamic Religious Education at SMP Negeri 11 Bandar Lampung. The research was conducted in response to preliminary findings indicating low levels of student motivation, particularly in intrinsic learning drive, which reached only 18%. A quasi-experimental posttest-only control group design was employed, involving two randomly selected Grade VII classes: an experimental group taught using the Learning Cycle 5E model and a control group receiving conventional instruction. The research instrument was a structured learning motivation questionnaire initially consisting of 15 items. Following the validity analysis, 10 items met the required criteria and were retained for further analysis. The reliability test conducted on these valid items yielded a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.704, indicating an acceptable level of internal consistency. Accordingly, this reliability coefficient is consistently reported throughout the manuscript to ensure methodological clarity and avoid interpretative bias. Data were analyzed using tests of normality, homogeneity, and an independent sample t-test. The results revealed a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05), indicating that the Learning Cycle 5E model effectively improved students’ learning motivation. Notable improvements were observed in enthusiasm, responsibility, independence, and active engagement. This research provides empirical evidence supporting the effectiveness of the 5E instructional model in enhancing the quality of the learning process and improving students’ academic engagement Islamic Religious Education beyond science-based instruction.

Abstract

Bureaucratic reform in Indonesia is frequently hindered by procedural rigidity and information asymmetry. This study evaluates the effectiveness of gamification as an intervention strategy to address these challenges. Using a Systematic Literature Review based on the SPICE framework, this research analyzes selected literature from the last decade. The results identify two impact clusters: externally, gamification simplifies abstract regulations into interactive simulations, effectively reducing information asymmetry for citizens. However, there are several factors that influence the effectiveness of gamification, some of which are digital literacy and age. Internally, it enhances Civil Servants' engagement in technical training and mitigates rigid work cultures. The study concludes that gamification serves as a strategic policy instrument rather than mere entertainment. It simplifies bureaucratic complexity and bridges public communication through an adaptive psychological approach. These findings imply that integrating game elements into public services significantly improves voluntary compliance and organizational agility, offering a viable solution for modernizing public administration.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Self-Organized Learning Environment (SOLE) model on students’ learning activeness in Fiqh at MTs Al-Ma’ruf Margodadi. The research emerged from classroom conditions that were largely teacher-centered, with limited technology integration and minimal student participation in discussion and problem-solving. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving class VIII.B as the control group and VIII.A as the experimental group applying SOLE. Data were collected using a learning activeness questionnaire covering five indicators; 20 items were declared valid, with a reliability coefficient of α = 0.607. This coefficient meets the minimum 0.60 standard considered acceptable by several researchers in social science studies, particularly for context-based instruments. The findings indicate that SOLE significantly enhances students’ participation, especially in questioning, discussion, and problem-solving activities, demonstrating its potential as an effective approach in Islamic Education to cultivate more independent and engaged learners.

Abstract

The following study aims to examine the effect of the Talking Stick cooperative learning model on student learning engagement in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at SMPN 11 Bandar Lampung. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental posttest-only control group design. The research sample consisted of 60 students divided into an experimental class and a control class, each with 30 students. Data were obtained through a Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis results showed that the data had a normal and homogeneous distribution. However, the t-test results obtained a significance value of 0.131 (p > 0.05), which indicated that the application of the Talking Stick model did not significantly affect student learning engagement. This finding indicates that the Talking Stick model does not automatically increase learning engagement in the affective domain in IRE learning. This study emphasizes the importance of using a more adaptive, contextual learning approach that is aligned with student characteristics and value-based learning objectives. Therefore, IRE teachers who wish to continue using this model are advised to integrate it with reflective activities and value reinforcement strategies to ensure that classroom interactions are not only participatory but also affectively meaningful.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is one of the main focuses of 21st-century education. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Lumio by Smart on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability and to describe students’ problem-solving ability in terms of learning motivation. This study employed a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. The research population is all students of class XI of MAN Temanggung. Quantitative data were obtained from randomly selected students, while six qualitative subjects were chosen purposively based on their levels of learning motivation. Research instruments included a mathematical problem-solving test, a learning motivation questionnaire, and interviews. The results indicate that the Discovery Learning model assisted by Lumio by Smart is effective in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. Furthermore, students’ mathematical problem-solving ability varies according to their level of learning motivation, with highly motivated students showing good ability, moderately motivated students showing sufficient ability, and low-motivation students showing low ability.
