Abstract

Purpose: Science education in elementary schools requires the cultivation of accurate conceptual understanding to minimize misconceptions. However, misconceptions are still found in the material on the circulatory system. This study aims to: a) describe the existing science worksheets in the field, b) test the validity of CCM-based worksheets, and c) test the practicality of CCM-based worksheets.Methodology: This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the 4-D model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate), but limited to the development stage. The subjects included 24 students and educators of class VI.3 at SD Muhammadiyah 16 Surakarta. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and Three-tier multiple choice diagnostic tests. The LKPD was validated by subject matter experts, media experts, and practitioners. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Results: The results showed that: a) the LKPD on the circulatory system was ready for use, b) the CCM-based LKPD obtained 85% validation from subject matter experts and 87.5% from media experts (both Very Valid), c) the practicality test by practitioners was 85% (Very Practical). These results confirm that CCM-based LKPD is feasible and practical for minimizing misconceptions in circulatory system material.Applications/Originality/Value: The validation and practicality results show that CCM-based LKPD is ready to be tested in IPAS learning on a wider scale. Although it has been declared Valid and Practical, it is necessary to establish a hypothesis that requires empirical testing in the future with a control group and pre/post-test design to test the effectiveness of this LKPD.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools aims to instill a correct understanding of concepts so that students avoid misconceptions. However, in the digestive system material, many misconceptions are still found, for example the function of organs, the sequence of processes, and digestive disorders. One way to overcome this is to use learning media. However, so far learning media to minimize misconceptions are still rarely found. This study aims to 1). Describe the design of digital Pop-Up Book media on the digestive system material, 2). Test the validity of digital pop-up book media on the digestive system material based on the results of expert validity assessments, 3). Test the practicality of using digital pop-up books with dynamic simulations as learning media. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate), which is limited to the Develop stage. The research subjects included teachers, fifth grade students of Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta Elementary School, and expert validators. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, pretests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques were qualitative data analysis in the form of (data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing). quantitative data analysis in the form of pre-test, validity test, and product practicality. The results of the study showed that 1) The media developed was a PowerPoint-based Digital Pop-Up Book containing interactive illustrations, 2D visuals, and animations of the digestive process. 2). The validity of the Digital Pop Up Book Media was declared "Very Valid" (94.28%) by media experts and "Very Valid" (90.90%) by material experts. The practicality test obtained (91.66%) "Very Practical" from the fifth grade homeroom teacher. Thus, the developed Digital Pop-Up Book is not only suitable for use on a wider scale by first establishing a hypothesis to test its effectiveness in increasing student engagement and reducing misconceptions in elementary school science learning.

Abstract

Purpose: The ability to write in accordance with Indonesian language rules is an important indicator of students' academic literacy competence in the global era. However, many students still make linguistic errors in writing expository texts. This study aims to (1) describe the writing patterns of expository texts produced by tenth-grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Karanganyar and (2) identify the types of language errors that frequently occur in their writing.Methodology: This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The data sources consisted of thirty expository texts written by students from two vocational programs, namely Accounting and Office Affairs. Data were collected through documentation and interview techniques, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Results: The findings reveal four categories of language errors: spelling, morphology, syntax, and semantics. The most dominant errors occurred in spelling and morphology, particularly in capitalization, prepositional usage, and non-standard word formation. The contributing factors include informal writing habits developed through social media, regional language interference, and low awareness of the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling (PUEBI).Applications/Originality/Value: This study provides significant pedagogical implications for Indonesian language learning, particularly in implementing error-based learning strategies that encourage reflection and systematic correction of students' linguistic errors. The originality of this study lies in its focus on vocational high school contexts, providing insights into how language awareness can be enhanced to improve writing accuracy among vocational students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the forms of politeness principle deviations in humorous content on the @Tretan Universe YouTube account. The phenomenon warrants investigation as it involves intricate communication strategies that balance humor creation with linguistic propriety. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this research analyzes utterances from the 22-minute podcast "Reveal Mutants 'SUGENG TUMBLER' ft. Obing." Data collection employed non-participant observation and note-taking techniques, with analysis conducted using the distributional method and validated through theoretical triangulation. Findings identify five violation types: (1) tact maxim violations (3 instances) through unfavorable comparisons, direct criticism, and repetitive queries; (2) generosity maxim violation (1 instance) via self-benefit maximization; (3) approbation maxim violations (3 instances) through disparagement, inappropriate analogies, and interlocutor belittlement; (4) agreement maxim violations (2 instances) via uncooperative responses and repetitive questioning; and (5) sympathy maxim violation (1 instance) through antipathy maximization. These violations demonstrate that politeness breaches in humorous content constitute not merely instances of impoliteness but rather deliberate communicative strategies employed to establish rapport with the audience.

Abstract

This study focuses on the use of dysphemism in the comment section of the Instagram account @jokowi as a form of netizens' response to political and social issues in digital spaces. The aim of this research is to describe the evaluative meanings of dysphemism that appear in the comments and to explain the findings as learning materials for Indonesian language instruction at the senior high school level. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a digital ethnographic approach by collecting data from comments containing dysphemistic elements. The analysis reveals three categories of evaluative meanings of dysphemism: cursing (17 instances), criticizing (9 instances), and mocking (2 instances), with cursing being the dominant form through the use of harsh expressions as an indicator of public dissatisfaction toward public figures. The research findings are implemented as Indonesian language teaching materials in senior high schools to promote linguistic awareness that is polite, ethical, and responsible in digital media. The implementation is carried out through learning activities based on text analysis and critical discussion, enabling students to identify and transform dysphemistic utterances into more polite and constructive language.
