Abstract

This study examines the integration of professional human resource management (HRM) and spiritual development within a religious nonprofit organization. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research was conducted at Masjid Ismuhu Yahya, Pontianak, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis involving mosque leaders, human resource managers, entrusted students, and staff members. The findings reveal that Masjid Ismuhu Yahya has implemented competency-based recruitment, structured training, and clear human resource classification aligned with professional HRM principles, while simultaneously embedding systematic spiritual development through religious routines and residential spiritual programs. This integration fosters human resources who are not only professionally competent but also possess strong spiritual values, integrity, and commitment. The study concludes that harmonizing professional HRM with spiritual development enhances organizational effectiveness, sustainability, and value-based identity. These findings contribute to the literature on human resource management in religious nonprofit organizations and offer practical insights for faith-based institutions seeking to balance professionalism and spirituality.

Abstract

This study examines the role of zakat-based Islamic philanthropy in supporting maternal health equity among urban poor women in Banjarmasin within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Maternal health disparities indicate that vulnerable women continue to face barriers in accessing reproductive health services. Using a descriptive qualitative case study, this research was conducted at the Klinik Pratama Gratis Dhuafa Tersenyum managed by the Dhuafa Tersenyum Foundation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings show that zakat, infaq, and sadaqah (ZIS) funds were utilised to provide free antenatal care, modern contraceptive services, and safe childbirth assistance. This zakat-based model complements government maternal health policies by reducing financial barriers, strengthening continuity of care, and supporting the achievement of SDG targets 3.1 and 3.7. The study highlights Islamic philanthropy as a socio-religious mechanism for equitable and sustainable maternal health policy implementation.

Abstract

Inter-organizational networks configured through the Collaboration Brand Network Configuration (Co-BNC) framework demonstrate significant potential in augmenting organizational income and expanding Zakat, Infaq, and Shodaqoh (ZIS) fund collection. This study investigates the Co-BNC model within Muhammadiyah and Lazismu Charity organizations, examining its role in optimizing organizational performance and ZIS fundraising outcomes. A quantitative approach employing Structural Equation Modeling and path analysis was adopted. Data were collected from AUM and Lazismu management personnel comprising 42 respondents, analyzed using WarpPLS 7. Findings demonstrate that Co-BNC significantly enhances ZIS collection through the mediating roles of brand awareness and organizational income performance. ZIS serves as the terminal proxy reflecting revenue generated from Co-BNC-based brand awareness formation between AUM and Lazismu. Optimally configured Co-BNC strengthens mutual brand reinforcement, elevates AUM profitability, expands zakat nisab thresholds, and enables cost-efficient network collaboration across Muhammadiyah institutions, collectively maximizing ZIS fundraising performance.

Abstract

the global ecological crisis has exposed the limitations of the conventional Green Training which often relies on mechanistic and compliance based approach the global that fail to foster long-term intrinsic motivation. this study aims to formulate a spiritually essentialized green training model by integrating Badiusman Said Nursi ecotheology from Kitab al-Lamaat. using a qualitative library research explores the transformative potential of tafakkur alam (nature contemplation). Findings reveal that essentializing training through be concepts of tajalli (divine manifestation) and ubudiyyah iqlimiyyah (ecological servitude) shifts employee motivation drom external pressure to theocentric commitment. the study concludes thats viewing nature as a mirror of divine names provides a stronger ontological foundation than secular models. implications suggest that HRD praactitioners should incorporate reflective-spiritual practices, such as contemplation journals, into corporate curricula. this paradigm shift not only promotes sustainable pro-enviromental behavior beyond the workplace but also addresses the root cause of moral dissengagement in enviromental management.

Abstract

This article examines how Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) responds institutionally to the rise of digital religious authority in Indonesia’s platform-based media environment. The study addresses the growing challenge faced by Islamic organizations as religious legitimacy is increasingly shaped by visibility, engagement, and platform culture rather than solely by traditional institutional authority. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, this research employs digital trace observation of NU’s official websites, social media accounts, video channels, digital services, and publicly accessible organizational documents. The findings show that NU responds through three interconnected strategies: strengthening official digital media, developing institutional digital infrastructure, and enhancing internal digital capacity through content and leadership initiatives. These strategies indicate that NU is not merely adapting to digital change, but is institutionalizing digital da‘wah as a form of authority management. This study argues that digital religious authority has become a strategic organizational issue, requiring Islamic institutions to integrate legitimacy, media management, and platform adaptation.

Abstract

This article develops the concept of embedded dakwah to explain how Islamic values are formed through everyday community life rather than only through verbal message delivery. Drawing on a narrative integrative review of dakwah studies, lived religion, social learning theory, ritual studies, community leadership, and religion–culture scholarship, the article identifies four domains of embedded dakwah: community leadership, everyday social interaction, collective religious practice, and local culture. It argues that Islamic value formation operates through four interrelated mechanisms: exemplary conduct, habituation, collective participation, and social norm reinforcement. The proposed framework is relational, contextual, and non-deterministic. Its formative effects depend on actor legitimacy, relational quality, power distribution, and community inclusivity. The article contributes to dakwah studies by shifting analytical attention from communication strategy and message transmission toward moral-social formation. It further develops an ecology-based organizational framework for dakwah institutions, covering leadership and governance, program design, the cultural and relational environment, and monitoring, as a practical guide for mosques, pesantren, and Islamic organizations seeking to cultivate Islamic values beyond event-based program delivery.
