Abstract

Economic growth plays an important role in strengthening local fiscal capacity, particularly through Regional Original Revenue, which reflects the financial independence of local governments. This study analyzes the effect of economic growth on Regional Original Revenue in Jayapura City during the period 2014–2023 using a quantitative approach. The research applied classical assumption tests, including normality, autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity, followed by simple linear regression, hypothesis testing, and coefficient of determination analysis. The results indicate that the model meets all statistical assumptions, ensuring its validity for interpretation. The analysis reveals a positive and significant relationship between economic growth and Regional Original Revenue, supported by a t-test significance of 0.001, which is less than the 0.05 criterion. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.752, showing that 75.2% of the variation in Regional Original Revenue is explained by economic growth, while 24.8% is influenced by other factors. The study concludes that sustained economic growth is crucial for strengthening fiscal independence in Jayapura City.

Abstract

This study examines indigenous food governance in the Kasepuhan Ciptagelar community of West Java, Indonesia, as an alternative to state-centric approaches to food security. Employing a qualitative hermeneutic method within the Social-Ecological Systems (SES) framework, the study analyzes secondary data from documentary films, academic literature, and media reports through thematic coding focused on governance systems. The findings reveal that Ciptagelar has sustained food self-sufficiency for centuries despite national dependence on imports, where Indonesia imported 4.52 million tons of rice in 2024. Empirically, the community manages approximately 12,000 leuit (traditional granaries), with rice reserves estimated to be sufficient for up to 95 years. Rice is treated as a sacred resource, prohibited from commodification, and regulated through annual agricultural cycles reinforced by rituals such as Seren Taun and Ponggokan. These findings challenge the assumption that effective food governance must operate under state hierarchy and extend the SES framework by emphasizing cultural and spiritual legitimacy. The study suggests that indigenous governance systems can inform more inclusive and resilient food security policies.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of political connections and gender diversity on the board of directors toward tax avoidance in manufacturing firms in the consumer goods sector, with firm size as a moderating variable. The research used 25 firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2024 period. Data were processed using multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the EViews software. The findings reveal that political connections have a positive and significant effect on tax avoidance, while gender diversity on the board of directors appears no critical impact. Moreover, firm size does not moderate the relationship between political connections and tax avoidance, nor between gender diversity on the board of directors and tax avoidance. Future research is recommended to extend the observation period, expand the research objects across sectors, and include other independent variables that may influence corporate tax avoidance behavior

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of intrinsic motivation on the performance of nursing staff, with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) serving as a mediating variable at Weda Regional General Hospital, Central Halmahera Regency. The study employs a quantitative approach, with a population of 324 employees and a sample consisting of 106 nursing staff. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using path analysis (path modeling) with the aid of SmartPLS version 4. The findings indicate that: (1) intrinsic motivation has a positive and significant effect on nursing staff performance; (2) intrinsic motivation positively and significantly affects OCB; (3) OCB has a positive and significant effect on nursing staff performance; and (4) OCB functions as a partial mediator in the relationship between intrinsic motivation and nursing staff performance.

Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped modern work by introducing greater flexibility while simultaneously creating new risks for employees’ psychological well-being. This study examines the paradox of digital flexibility and burnout using a library research approach with systematic narrative synthesis. Data were obtained from peer-reviewed journals indexed in Google Scholar, including major publishers such as Elsevier, Emerald, MDPI, and Springer. Guided by the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) Model and the Conservation of Resources (COR) Theory, the findings show that digital flexibility can enhance autonomy, engagement, and efficiency. However, when work–life boundaries become blurred, this same flexibility may trigger technostress, emotional exhaustion, and reduced well-being. The review highlights that organizational support, empathetic leadership, and a strong psychosocial safety climate are crucial in preventing resource depletion and sustaining employee performance. Overall, the study concludes that achieving sustainable digital work requires aligning technological advancements with strategies that protect and promote employee psychological well-being

Abstract

This study examines the influence of CEO financial literacy on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by analyzing the mediating roles of financial inclusion and technological innovation. The research is motivated by the limited empirical evidence on how managerial financial competence affects MSME competitiveness in developing economies such as Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 100 MSME CEOs in Ternate and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) technique. The results indicate that CEO financial literacy has a positive and significant impact on MSME performance. However, financial inclusion was found to be an insignificant mediator, suggesting that access to financial services has not been optimally utilized for productive activities. In contrast, technological innovation significantly mediates the relationship between CEO financial literacy and MSME performance, demonstrating that financially literate CEOs are more likely to adopt digital technologies that enhance efficiency and competitiveness. The findings underscore the strategic importance of strengthening financial literacy and digital transformation among MSMEs to sustain long-term growth and resilience

Abstract

In recent years, Indonesia has experienced a notable increase in corporate bankruptcies, especially among large firms struggling to adapt to shifting regulations and market dynamics, reflecting a growing tension between strategic agility and heightened government intervention. Under the current administration, policies such as price controls and stricter transparency requirements have pressured companies to adjust rapidly or risk decline. This study investigates how resilient Indonesian firms modify their marketing and business strategies to sustain growth under regulatory constraints. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through surveys of senior executives in marketing, finance, and strategy from medium-to-large enterprises across highly regulated sectors, including manufacturing, consumer goods, logistics, and retail. The analysis examines the relationship between perceived regulatory pressure and key performance indicators—revenue growth, brand performance, and competitive positioning—while considering moderating factors such as industry sector and firm age. By framing the research within the context of rising bankruptcy trends, this thesis aims to identify the strategic characteristics that distinguish firms capable of surviving and growing from those that fail, thereby contributing practical insights to the fields of strategic marketing and management within Indonesia’s evolving policy landscape

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of the reward and punishment system at Medika Pratama Perkasa Clinic, a private healthcare facility located in the remote mining area of Lelilef Village, Central Halmahera, North Maluku. Operating with limited human resources and high workloads, the clinic applies a qualitative exploratory case study approach, using interviews, observations, and document analysis, validated through source and method triangulation. The findings show that rewards—such as financial incentives, certificates, additional leave, and training—positively improve staff motivation and loyalty. Meanwhile, punishments including verbal and written warnings and incentive reductions help enforce discipline, although they generate psychological pressure for some employees. The remote context intensifies challenges related to limited facilities, referral constraints, and stressful work conditions. The study concludes that the system works adequately but requires greater consistency, clearer criteria, and stronger non-financial support through mentoring and coaching. These results contribute to understanding human resource management in healthcare organizations operating in remote areas
