Abstract

Customer satisfaction with consumed goods becomes a benchmark for product performance and the totality of marketer's performance. The degree of customer satisfaction is relative, depending on how much benefit and pleasure is received so that the customer will buy back even become loyal. Various ways can be done, but of course the tips done by marketers through brand communication, own brand as proof, and digital-based integrated marketing communications that are gamification are important things that can be considered. This study aims to examine and explain: the influence of brand communication, brand evidence, and gamification on customer satisfaction; the influence of brand communication, brand evidence, and gamification on customer loyalty; and customer satisfaction as mediating these three variables towards customer loyalty. Conducted on 100 respondents of Starbucks consumers who downloaded this international network application which was determined based on the purposive sampling method and by using the path analysis method. It is found that customer satisfaction is not a mediator of customer loyalty and so the brand communication is not influential. Meanwhile, brand evidence and gamification are factors that have a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. The findings of this study explain that brand names, prices, services, and product interactions through digital-based integrated marketing communications play a role in determining customer loyalty especially for international stores such as Starbucks. Keywords: Customer Satisfaction, brand communication, gamification, customer loyalty

Abstract

This study examines the capital structure based on dynamic trade-off theory in property, real estate, and construction building companies in Indonesia. We have used a data panel from 17 companies over the years 2018 to 2021. There are two stages of testing in this study. First, we estimate the target leverage using Random Effect Model and then find the capital structure adjustment speed using Fixed Effect Model. The results of this study prove that profitability has a negative and significant effect on the company's capital structure, firm size has a positive and significant effect on the company's capital structure, while growth does not influence it. This study also revealed that property, real estate, and construction building companies in Indonesia adjusted their capital structure toward optimal capital structure, where the adjustment speed was 25% per year or took 4 years to achieve their optimal capital structure. This study suggests government policies encouraging people's purchasing power to support economic recovery. Keywords: Capital Structure, Dynamic Trade-Off Theory, Firm Size, Growth, Profitability, Speed of Adjustment.

Abstract

This paper is aimed to give more insight for Indonesian banks to understand consumers’ sentiment in social media towards their mobile banking service, determining area(s) that requires improvement, and giving recommendation where refinement is due. Nine highly mentioned mobile banking features in Indonesian language are determined through manual observation on Twitter, translated as: payment, block, open new bank account, login, transaction report, bank balance, top-up, transaction, and transfer. Twitter entries from January 1st, 2019 to December 31st, 2020 which include the words ‘mobile banking’, ‘m-banking’, or ‘mbanking’ plus one of the nine features are collected and classified according to their sentiment. In total, 5014 tweet data are collected. Negative tweets have the biggest proportion at 49.8%, followed by neutral tweets with 44.5% and positive tweets with 5.7% only. Proportion of negative tweets are way higher than the positive tweets for all nine features. From highly mentioned words and representative example tweets, some preferred features can be derived, including no extra fee to access any mobile banking feature, providing record that can be recalled after important transactions, keeping mobile banking app updated to customer needs while also maintaining steadiness, speed, and ease-of-use, along with better synchronization with third party entities.

Abstract

This study is conducted to determine the effect of the profitability variable on dividend policy in Indonesian state-owned banks. The method used in this research is quantitative method using numerical data which are tested using panel data regression analysis. The population of this study is PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, where the data samples are the financial statements for fiscal year 2011 through fiscal year 2019. The study result is the NPM (profitability) regression coefficient of -0.731653. This value indicates the negative direction on dividend policy. Moreover, the results of t-test obtain a significant level of 0.0409 which is smaller than 0.05 (level of significance). From these results, it can be concluded that profitability which is measured using net profit margin (NPM) has a negative but significant effect on dividend policy (DPR). This means that value of profitability which is measured by the net profit margin (NPM) is not the basis for the number of dividends that will be distributed by the company management to the shareholders.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the managerial roles of Educational Boards in East Java Province, Indonesia. In particular, this concerns on five aspects, i.e. operational activities, human resources, organizational roles and functions, and facilities in the organization. In the management of educational council, there are many experts in their fields; however, its internal problem is in regard with human resources. The unhealthy organizational structures in determining organizational funds and facilities are also obstacles that need to be addressed to realize the educational council as an independent organization due to the law. Thus, this study argues that the educational boards in East Java Province needs to be revitalized owing to the autonomous principles of education. This relates to the democratization of education, involving conjoint actions and communication between the government and the community to reach the educational consensus.
