Abstract

This case study reports on the analysis of the national curriculum known as curriculum 2013, and its relevance to a modern Islamic boarding school goals. This study involved one Islamic senior high school in West Java, Indonesia. The qualitative data were derived from curriculum 2013 and the curriculum complementary documents designed by the curriculum development department of the school. This document analysis relied on four fundamental elements of curriculum introduced by Tyler (1949), those are educational goals, learning experiences, learning organizations, and learning evaluations. The results showed that four fundamental aspects of the curriculum 2013 were in line with the Tyler curriculum principles. A minimum TOEFL score is one of the objectives, but the programs are inadequate to prepare the students to achieve it. Likewise, the final evaluation for the objective is still inconsistent due to the test cost issue. However, the curriculum 2013 supported by some complementary programs has demonstrated its relevance to the goals of the modern Islamic boarding school.

Abstract

The learning process is an essential part of education, as it aims to equip students with experiential abilities, moral understanding, and skills, enabling positive developments in their learning journey. Success in the learning process serves as a benchmark for achieving learning goals. An evaluation or assessment process is necessary to determine the achievement of learning objectives. Evaluation in learning holds significant strategic meaning in education. Learning evaluation aims to assess the development of students' learning outcomes after participating in the learning process. Evaluation is also conducted to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of the methods employed by the teacher during the learning process. The research method used in this study is qualitative research with a descriptive content analysis approach. The critical role of learning evaluation is not only defined by the system and characteristics of educators but also by the objectives, functions, principles, validity, and reliability of the evaluation tools used, which can influence the evaluation process in learning.

Abstract

Curriculum evaluation is an essential aspect in assessing the application of the curriculum in learning, with the development of the MBKM curriculum making learning changes in every tertiary institution. So, it is necessary to have a study related to evaluating the MBKM curriculum. The purpose of this research is to be able to examine the impacts and problems found in the MBKM curriculum. The approach used is qualitative with library study data collection. This study's results show that a positive and good response is received in evaluating the MBKM curriculum. MBKM is considered to be able to develop students' abilities. One of the developing abilities is the self-quality possessed by students. Even so, there are still some things that need to be improved. So far, the problem is that evaluations are mainly carried out summatively. For this reason, it is hoped that there will be improvements related to the MBKM curriculum and assessments using both summative and formative methods because they complement each other.

Abstract

The existence of a policy of limiting activities by the government during the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in limited educational activities in schools. Online learning is an alternative for students and educators to be able to carry out learning even though they do not meet face to face in carrying out the Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM) process. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing learning approaches and strategies that can be implemented in online learning. The literature review method shows that online learning strategies can be implemented: control, organizing, and motivation. Meanwhile, the approaches that can be adapted to online learning are Student-Centered, individual, educative, and emotional approaches. This type of strategy and approach can be adjusted by the teacher depending on the conditions faced by students and teachers. With learning strategies and approaches, teaching and learning activities can be carried out properly and in a structured manner even though they are carried out online. Therefore, it is important for educators to develop learning strategies and approaches that suit the conditions and needs of students.

Abstract

Education and training are structured and planned actions or processes with the aim of forming an optimal learning environment. The purpose of this article is to increase understanding of post-education and training evaluation and the importance of seeing the quality of education and training alumni on an ongoing basis. Through an effective and continuous evaluation, we can identify the strengths and weaknesses of training programs, provide recommendations for appropriate improvements, and improve the quality of education and training alumni to face competition in the ever-evolving world of work. The method used in this research is a descriptive method using a literature study approach. The findings obtained from this article are that as a whole, the community has not directly experienced the impacts and benefits provided by the various types of training held. The conclusion is that it is often found that a training activity is ultimately only limited to measuring the output of training participants and tends to ignore alumni outcomes. Outcomes of this training can be known through post-training evaluation activities which are carried out three to 6 months after the training is completed.
