Abstract

This study aims to describe students' responses to the application of learning that has been carried out in class using a structured inquiry learning model. The data collection technique used was the survey method by distributing student response questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses a Likert scale which is categorized under several criteria. The subjects in this study were 16 students in class VII-D of SMP Negeri 5 Lamongan. The results of this study showed that overall students gave a positive response, seen from the average percentage of each student above 76%, including the very good category.

Abstract

The evaluation of learning plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of education. Effective evaluation methods help measure students' understanding, identify individual needs, and adapt teaching strategies. In the context of Vocational High Schools (SMK), the end-of-semester examination serves as an important evaluation component. This study focuses on analyzing the content validity of multiple-choice questions in the English final semester examination at SMK NU 1 Karanggeneng during the 2022/2023 academic year. The writers employed a descriptive qualitative research approach, utilizing documentation as the primary method. The data collected from SMK NU 1 Karanggeneng were systematically analyzed to assess the alignment between the examination questions and the basic competency standards of the 2013 curriculum(KEMENDIKBUT 2013). The findings revealed that all 60 multiple-choice questions were aligned with the basic competency standards, except for the topic of text biography. This study emphasizes the significance of conducting content validation to ensure accurate evaluation results and provides insights for improving future examination content. Overall, the research contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of learning evaluation methods in SMK.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to explore and describe the assessment methods used to evaluate the reading and writing abilities of first-grade elementary school students in English. The research design adopts a descriptive qualitative approach to gather in-depth, non-numerical data that can provide rich insights into the assessment process. The sample consists of first-grade elementary school students who are learning English, with careful consideration given to selecting a diverse sample representing various socioeconomic backgrounds and language proficiency levels. This approach ensures a comprehensive understanding of the assessment methods and their applicability across different student populations. Data collection involves developing assessment instruments that align with grade 1 English learning objectives, focusing specifically on reading and writing components. These instruments are designed to be suitable for the students' developmental level, taking into account their limited vocabulary and literacy skills. Examples of assessment instruments used include open-ended reading comprehension tasks, picture-based writing prompts, and observation of students' writing behaviors. Through this study, valuable insights into the effective assessment methods for evaluating the reading and writing abilities of first-grade elementary school students in English learning are expected to be gained. The findings of this research can inform instructional practices, curriculum development, and assessment strategies to support students' language acquisition and proficiency at this critical stage of their education. The descriptive qualitative method allows for a detailed exploration and description of the assessment methods employed, providing a deeper understanding of their effectiveness and potential areas for improvement.

Abstract

This study focuses on the analysis of multiple choice test questions that measure critical thinking and tests of procedural knowledge of grammar material for introductory (beginner) English courses. Sample analysis includes:(1) item difficulty, (2) item differentiation, (3) item validity, and (4) item reliability. To measure the difficulty, a comparison formula is used for the number of respondents who answered correctly versus the number of respondents who answered incorrectly. The Pearson product-moment test is used to measure the validity and uniqueness of the item. The Cronbach alpha test is then used to determine the reliability of the test. The results of the difficulty test classify the test items into "easy", "moderate", and "difficult" categories. The results of the differential performance test classify the candidates into the "good" and "excellent" categories. The validity test proves that all test items are valid. The reliability test shows that the planned test is reliable. Therefore, the designed test items do not need to be fixed and can be used to measure critical thinking skills and procedural grammar.

Abstract

This research is product development which aims to develop a Heyzine flipbook-based e-module for learning to write biographical texts. This heyzine flipbook based e-module is used by teachers as a tool used by teachers in delivering material. This type of method is Research and Development (R&D). The research results based on the quality and suitability of these teaching materials have been tested for validity by teaching materials experts and material experts. The validation results from the validators are that the appearance of this development is 92%, average 3.7 in the very good category, presentation aspect is 100%, average 4 in the very good category, practicality aspect is 89%, average 3.5 in the very good category, quality aspect content and objectives are 100% with a mean of 4 in the very good category, the aspect of the determination of reference materials is 92% with a mean of 3.6 in the very good category, the graphic aspect is 100% in the very good category and the aspect of language use is 95% with a mean of 3.8 with very good category. The feasibility test results show that the heyzine flipbook based e-module is very suitable for use.

Abstract

This study analyzes the suitability of MI students' interests, talents and non-academic achievements. This research was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Alam Ananda Mandiri Slawi, with the aim of determining the extent to which students' interests and talents contribute to their non-academic achievements. This research uses a qualitative research approach. During the data collection process, this research used observation, interview and documentation methods. Based on the results, each child has different talents, interests and abilities in their own capacity, so the success of students can depend on improving their talents and skills. in the future.

Abstract

Menulis karya ilmiah merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang diperlukan mahasiswa sebagai media komunikasi dalam dunia akademik. Karya ilmiah harus disusun dengan sistematis dan komprehensif sehingga memerlukan kompetensi yang memadai untuk dapat menghasilkan karya ilmiah yang berkualitas. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mendeskripsikan temuan penelitian terkait problematika penulisan karya ilmiah yang dialami mahasiswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kendala yang dihadapi mahasiswa dalam menulis karya ilmiah dibedakan menjadi tiga, yaitu lemahnya keterampilan dasar menulis, pembelajaran menulis karya ilmiah yang belum optimal, serta rendahnya motivasi dan literasi etika akademik mahasiswa. Keterampilan dasar menulis diperlukan sebagai bekal bagi mahasiswa untuk dapat memahami karakteristik penulisan karya ilmiah yang berkualitas. Pembelajaran menulis karya ilmiah perlu dioptimalkan agar dapat memberikan pengalaman belajar bagi mahasiswa dalam menghasilkan karya ilmiah yang berkualitas. Hal tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan bimbingan dan umpan balik yang diberikan pendidik agar mahasiswa dapat memperbaiki karya ilmiah yang telah dihasilkan. Motivasi belajar dan literasi etika mahasiswa perlu ditingkatkan dengan cara menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesadaran mahasiswa untuk dapat memanfaatkan media-media digital berbasis AI dengan jujur dan bertanggung jawab. Dengan demikian, mahasiswa perlu mendapatkan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna untuk dapat meningkatkan keterampilannya dalam menulis karya ilmiah. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai referensi dalam pengembangan perencanaan pembelajaran yang inovatif serta sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik mahasiswa. Writing scientific papers is one of the skills needed by students as a medium of communication in the academic world. Scientific papers must be compiled systematically and comprehensively so that they require adequate competence to be able to produce quality scientific papers. The purpose of this study is to describe research findings related to the problems of writing scientific papers experienced by students. The results of data analysis show that the obstacles faced by students in writing scientific papers are divided into three, namely weak basic writing skills, suboptimal learning to write scientific papers, and low motivation and academic ethics literacy of students. Basic writing skills are needed as provisions for students to be able to understand the characteristics of writing quality scientific papers. Learning to write scientific papers needs to be optimized to provide a learning experience for students in producing quality scientific papers. This can be done with guidance and feedback provided by educators so that students can improve the scientific works that have been produced. Students' learning motivation and ethical literacy needs to be improved by creating a conducive learning environment so that it can increase students' awareness to be able to utilize AI-based digital media honestly and responsibly. Thus, students need to get meaningful learning experiences to be able to improve their skills in writing scientific papers. The results of this study can be used as a reference in developing innovative learning plans that are in accordance with the needs and characteristics of students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan pembelajaran mahasiswa di Prodi Peternakan Jurusan Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lampung pada mata kuliah produksi ternak perah melalui implementasi model pembelajaran project atau PjBL (Project Based Learning). Pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan deskripsi kualitatif, hasil penelitian dijabarkan secara deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa semester 3 Program Studi S1 Peternakan Jurusan Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lampung sebanyak 75 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa model pembelajaran project atau PjBL (Project Based Learning) dapat mengasah dan menggali kemampuan digital skill mahasiswa Prodi Peternakan Jurusan Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lampung melalui digital skill berupa Barcode data ternak perah sangat mudah dibaca, dengan sekali scan barcode data recording ternak akan terlihat secara lengkap. Dengan cara scan barcode dapat diharapkan mempermudah dan membantu peternak dalam melakukan pencatatan ternak yang dimilikinya atau recording ternak. Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pedekatan Behaviorisme dari B.F. Skinner. Adapun metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Data trsebut berupa kata-kata yakni wujud dari perubahan perilaku dialami oleh tokoh pada novel Burung Kayu karya Niduparas Erlang yang di akibatkan oleh perilaku lingkungan dan, penyebab awal mula perubahan perilaku yang di alami oleh tokoh dalam novel Burung Kayu karya Niduparas Erlang yang di akibatkan oleh pengaruh lingkungan. Teknik pengumpulan datanya berupa teknik simak dan catat. Analisis datanya menggunakan analisis isi dan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian diatas adalah (1) Wujud dari perubahan perilaku yang di alami oleh tokoh dalam novel Burung Kayu karya Niduparas Erlang. Pada tahap ini, penulis menjabarkan perubahan perilaku yang di alami oleh tokoh akibat dari pengaruh lingkungan dengan beberapa kutipan untuk mengetahui perubahan perilaku tokoh yang di akibatkan oleh pengaruh lingkungan, (2) Penyebab awal mula perubahan perilaku yang di alami oleh tokoh dalam novel Burung Kayu karya Niduparas Erlang. Pada tahap ini, penulis menjabarkan penyebab awal mula perubahan perilaku yang di alami oleh tokoh yang diakibatkan oleh pengaruh lingkungan dengan memperhatikan adanya beberapa kutipan-kutipan untuk mengetahui penyebab awal mula perubahan perilaku yang di alami oleh tokoh akibat dari pengaruh lingkungan.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of ChatGPT-provided formative feedback on the narrative essay writing skills of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. Sixteen undergraduate students were tasked with writing narrative essays, which were evaluated pre- and post-feedback using a standardized rubric. The essays were rated by two human raters, and inter-rater reliability was confirmed (Cronbach’s alpha = .912). The results indicated significant improvements in key writing criteria, particularly in style, voice, and overall coherence, as evidenced by the paired sample t-tests. The learners also predominantly expressed positive perceptions of ChatGPT’s feedback, highlighting its clarity and usefulness in enhancing their writing. These findings demonstrate the potential of AI-driven feedback to support language learning and address resource limitations in EFL classrooms.
