Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between parents' socioeconomic status and students' interest in pursuing higher education among XII-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Lengayang. The research was motivated by the low percentage of students from SMA Negeri 2 Lengayang who continue their studies at the university level. This study employs a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with a total sample of 80 XII-grade students. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 15 statements that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results indicate a significant positive relationship between parents' socioeconomic status and students' interest in higher education, as shown by the calculated correlation coefficient (r = 0.454), which is greater than the critical r-value (r = 0.220). Consequently, the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is accepted. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the higher the parents' socioeconomic status, the greater the students' interest in continuing their education at the university level.

Abstract

Global markets have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic, which has increased economic uncertainty and changed sectoral performance. This study looks at the sectors that fared well throughout the crisis and investigates the wider economic effects of uncertainty brought on by the epidemic. We evaluate the degree of economic uncertainty and its macroeconomic impacts using real-time indicators, such as stock market volatility, news-based uncertainty metrics, and company expectation surveys. According to our research, the pandemic's uncertainty shock is similar to past crises like the Great Depression and the financial crisis of 2008. Additionally, we project a significant drop in the US real GDP, with increased uncertainty accounting for about half of the reduction. These findings highlight the value of forward-looking analyses in assessing economic resilience and offer insightful information for maximising sectoral investment plans in times of international emergency.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' difficulties in understanding the subject matter of Islamic Cultural History, which is considered complex and abstract, especially in the material on the exemplary stories of Walisongo. Learning media innovations such as digital flipbooks are needed to improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of digital flipbooks in improving student learning outcomes in the material on the exemplary stories of Walisongo. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design model involving an experimental class (using digital flipbooks) and a control class (conventional learning) with subjects of class IX students of MTsN 1 Jombang. Data collection in this study was in the form of tests. Data analysis in this study used normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, and normalized N-Gain. Based on the results of the analysis using SPSS version 30, the results of the independent sample t-test showed a sig value (2-tailed) <0.001. The N-Gain test results for the experimental class were 66.3% (quite effective) and the control class was 41.8% (less effective). Based on these two data analyses, it can be concluded that students who use digital flipbooks in learning obtain higher average scores than students who use learning without digital flipbooks. This means that digital flipbook learning media can be an effective alternative used in learning the material on the exemplary stories of Walisongo.

Abstract

The curriculum in an education is an important thing in the process of learning in schools, if a school does not have a curriculum in learning it will not run according to the goals to be achieved. This research aims to find out the significant influence of the application of the Independent Curriculum on student learning outcomes in PAI subjects. This research method is a quantitative study and uses random sampling techniques, sampling in this study totals 67 respondents. The data collection technique in this study uses the questionnaire method. The results of the research that has been conducted using spss 30 show that the hypothesis test in the study using the moment product correlation analysis test with the result of the significance value of the data test is 0.605 greater than the rtable (0.605 < 0.244), and in the test using the T test, the results are obtained Based on the T test, it shows that the regression coefficient of the variable Implementation of the Independent Curriculum 0.001 < 0.05. then it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected which means that there is a significant influence between the application of the Merdeka curriculum on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study is motivated by social studies learning which is very important in education, but is often hampered by low student interest. This study aims to investigate teachers' innovative strategies in improving students' understanding of Social Studies learning at SD Negeri 1 Cilangkap, given the challenges of low interest and lack of innovation in learning. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis includes reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model increased students' engagement, enthusiasm, and understanding of social studies materials. PjBL also fosters students' social skills such as collaboration, communication, and problem solving. The conclusion of this research is that the innovative strategy of using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model improves students' understanding and shapes students' characters into competent and responsible individuals. The teacher acts as a facilitator, guiding students independently. The findings of this study contribute to the advancement of education in Indonesia, particularly improving the quality of social studies teaching in primary schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning outcomes in social studies lessons and the number of teachers who teach with monotonous learning methods. The purpose is to analyze the effectiveness of the Active Debate method in improving student learning outcomes in Social Sciences (IPS) subjects, especially in the material Appearance of Artificial and Natural Nature. The Active Debate method was chosen for its ability to increase students' active involvement in the learning process, which is expected to deepen their understanding of the material. The research method in this study is qualitative descriptive, data collection without setting from the researcher, by carrying out observations, interviews and documentation in data collection using the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) method approach to analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the application of this method. The results of the study show that the Active Debate method has succeeded in improving learning outcomes and student participation, developing critical thinking skills, and improving students' understanding of the material. The conclusion of this study is that the Active Debate method can be one of the alternatives used by teachers to improve social studies learning outcomes of students as well as develop critical thinking skills, and improve students' understanding of artificial and natural appearance materials in students. This research is expected to have implications for the development of more interactive and effective learning methods in improving student learning outcomes in social studies subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of mindfulness in helping individuals forgive without having to forget traumatic experiences, as well as in reducing rumination related to the past. Although mindfulness has been proven effective in altering negative thinking patterns, understanding of how mindfulness contributes to the acceptance of the past and the management of negative emotions remains limited. This research was conducted at the Darussalam Counseling Center, Blokagung, Banyuwangi, which integrates spiritual-based approaches with mindfulness practices. A qualitative method with a case study design was employed to explore the experiences of individuals participating in mindfulness therapy. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that mindfulness significantly helps individuals reduce the intensity of rumination, enhance self-acceptance, and shift their paradigm of forgiveness. Individuals practicing mindfulness learn to observe thoughts without emotional attachment, accept their imperfections, and release emotional burdens from the past without having to forget traumatic experiences. In conclusion, mindfulness plays an important role in accelerating emotional healing, building psychological well-being, and enhancing the ability to forgive with full awareness. The implication of this study is the need to integrate mindfulness techniques into counseling programs, particularly for individuals with emotional trauma, to help them develop healthier and more sustainable coping mechanisms.

Abstract

Education in pesantren plays a crucial role in shaping the discipline and academic achievements of students, particularly in memorizing the Al-Qur’an. One of the methods applied is educational ta’zir, which refers to non-violent disciplinary measures aimed at education. The pesantren employs methods such as wahdah, takrir, and tasmi’, along with a quarantine system for students who face difficulties. This study aims to examine the implementation and effectiveness of educational ta’zir in improving the memorization of 8th-grade students at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidz Putra Roudhotul Qur’an Plandaan Jombang during the academic year 2023-2024. The research utilizes a qualitative descriptive method with techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the application of educational ta’zir significantly contributes to the enhancement of (1) motivation and enthusiasm, (2) discipline, (3) memorization speed, (4) memorization quality, and (5) the achievement of memorization targets among students. In conclusion, this research demonstrates that educational ta’zir is an effective method for improving student discipline and achieving Al-Qur’an memorization targets, while also fostering a more conducive learning environment in the pesantren. This study is expected to serve as a reference for other pesantren in implementing similar strategies to enhance the quality of education and Al-Qur’an memorization among student.
