Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the mathematical problem solving abilities of seventh grade junior high school students on rectangular material based on the level of mathematics anxiety. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were 3 students of class VIII A of Cirebon State Junior High School. Taking the subject using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique consisted of a description of the results of the questionnaire, written tests and interviews, then the results of the written tests and interviews were analyzed, then conclusions were drawn. The results showed that students with low levels of mathematics anxiety were able to pass all indicators, namely being able to understand the existing problem, able to make a settlement plan according to what was known, and able to carry out the completion plan and re-examine the answers obtained so as to get the right results. Students with moderate levels of anxiety are able to pass two indicators, namely being able to understand the problem and make a settlement plan according to what is known and asked, but unable to carry out the completion plan and re-examine the answers so that they get incorrect results. Students with a high level of math anxiety are only able to pass one indicator, namely being able to understand the problem, but not being able to draw up a settlement plan according to what is known and asked, carry out the completion plan and re-examine the answers so that they get incorrect results. Abstract

Studi ini ialah penelitian metode deskriptif kualitatif yang tujuannya guna analisis tingkat koneksi matematis siswa SMP guna selesaikan soal materi bangun datar serta mengkategorikan tingkat koneksi matematis tinggi, sedang, dan rendah (Setialesmana, Anisa, & Herawati, 2017). Subjek di studi ini ialah 40 siswa kelas VIII salah satu sekolah menengah di Kabupaten Bekasi. Tes ini terdiri dari 2 soal uraian matematika yang dirancang untuk setiap siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa dari 40 siswa, 12 siswa dengan koneksi matematis golongan “tinggi”, 13 siswa dengan koneksi matematis golongan “sedang”, dan 15 siswa dengan koneksi matematis “rendah”. Dari segi volume data, kemampuan koneksi matematis condong ada di golongan rendah. Pada golongan “sedang”, siswa pahami konsep matematika, tapi belum sempurna. Sedangkan di golongan “rendah” siswa kesulitan pahami konsep matematika. Kata kunci: Matematika, Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis, Materi Bangun datar

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana motivasi belajar matematika siswa ketika media lagu yang memuat materi matematika diimplementasikan ke dalam pembelajaran matematika. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 24 orang siswa kelas VII E MTs Negeri 2 Karawang Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data pada penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui angket dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian berupa produk media lagu yaitu lagu aljabar menunjukkan kevalidan dari ahli materi 95,00%, dari ahli media 94,44%, serta indikator-indikator motivasi belajar berada pada kategori tinggi ketika dilakukan implementasi media lagu yaitu lagu aljabar pada pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

In order to trigger various penetrations in the field of mathematics, researchers conducted a research related to learning mathematics which aims to describe the process of constructing geometric concepts with the cultural context of Damar Kurung in terms of gender based on APOS theory using a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data analysis uses primary data in the form of student work, observations and interviews. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the criteria of the student concerned having good communication skills. The results showed that based on the percentage of female students, it was much better, namely 81.25% compared to boys, at the scheme stage it only reached 5.8% in the first question, while in question number 2 the percentage of male students in the scheme stage was only reached 11.7%, very far compared to women whose percentage reached 68.75%. The percentage difference is 57.05%. With this percentage, it can be concluded that gender is one of the influences and is the focus for re-doing research related to testing how much influence gender has on solving ethnomathematics-based problems.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve students' mathematical communication using the Cooperative Group Investigation (GI) learning method. The instruments used in the research were assessment questionnaire sheets and questionnaire sheets in the form of Student Worksheets (LKPD) given by the teacher to students. the results obtained, including: a. Mathematical communication skills between students can be increased b. students can understand the material build space.

Abstract

The monotheism value contained in the surah is in the holy book of the Al-Quran, especially in sura Al-Ikhlas. In surah Al-Ikhlas this can be related to exponential material. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between exponential material and surah Al-Ikhlas. Thus, the integration of mathematics and monotheism can help us to gain a broader and deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. The method used in this study is a literature review. The results of this study are (1) The first verse in surah Al-Ikhlas which contains "Say O Muhammad, He is Allah, the One and Only". Similar to the concept of the oneness of Allah, that Allah is one and is not divided into several gods. (2) The second verse in surah Al-Ikhlas states "Allah is the place of asking (place of dependence) of everything". The concept of dependency contained in this paragraph can be connected with the concept of exponential as a power operation. (3) The third verse in surah Al-Ikhlas states “Neither begotten nor begotten”. The concept of childlessness and non-producing in this verse can be related to the concept of exponents which relates to the power of zero. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain how mathematical logic can be used as a tool for understanding and applying moral values ​​contained in the teachings of the Al-Quran in everyday life. This research uses literature review or literature study. Researchers used the bibliographic survey method to collect data to discuss the research title. Relevant data is collected by drawing specific conclusions from general theories. The results of the study show that there are several verses of the Koran that contain mathematical logic from the perspective of moral values, including Al-Insyirah, Al-Fatihah, An-Nisa', and others. The moral values ​​contained in the letter include being honest, persistent or never giving up, obeying the law, and so on.

Abstract

The research problem is focused on the mathematical concept of number material contained in the Qur'an. The purpose of the research is to find out the mathematical concept of number material in the Qur'an is true. This research was conducted using the Library Research method. The results of the research are arranged in a narrative based on the study process of various sources in journals, books and other sources, which are in accordance with the issues discussed. Indeed, there are many studies contained in the Qur'an that explain the concept of mathematics. Therefore, to study the Qauniyyah verses in the Qur'an, mathematics is needed. Thus mathematics is also able to provide an approach in understanding the verses of Qauniyyah because mathematics is a science that plays an important role in education, sometimes referred to as the "queen of knowledge" and "servant of knowledge", because it serves as the basis for the development of other sciences. Mathematical concepts are very important because when students understand a concept, students can remember the math lessons they have learned.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VII pada materi bentuk aljabar. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 26 siswa yang diambil secara purposive pada satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Kuningan, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Studi kasus digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dengan kasus tunggal dan analisis tunggal. Rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas VII sebagai fokus kasus untuk di analisis, dengan analisis kasus didasarkan pemahaman konsep matematis dalam materi bentuk aljabar. Instrumen tes digunakan dalam penelitian ini, sebanyak 8 soal uraian dan 1 pilihan ganda untuk mengukur kemampuan numerasi siswa. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematis masih sangat rendah, yaitu: hampir semua siswa dapat menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep bentuk aljabar. Namun, sebagian siswa kurang paham dalam mengklasifikasikan objek menurut sifat – sifatnya, menyajikan konsep dalam bentuk representasi matematis, dan mengaplikasikan konsep dalam pemecahan masalah.

Abstract

Students' mathematical representation ability is a cognitive ability that is very important and needed by every student to solve mathematical problems. The purpose of the research conducted was to determine the level of representation ability of junior high school students in grade VIII. In the study, researchers used descriptive research methods along with a qualitative approach. The main instrument in the research is the researcher himself and is supported by a mathematical representation ability test instrument containing 3 questions with straight line equation material. The data collection technique that researchers use is a test instrument for all students. The results of the study found that (1) students' visual representation ability in the form of graphs on straight line equation material obtained a percentage of 63.67%; (2) representation ability in the form of mathematical equations obtained a percentage of 53.33%; (3) written text verbal representation ability obtained a percentage of 46.11%; (4) overall students' mathematical representation ability is included in the moderate category. It can be concluded that the overall mathematical representation ability of class VIII students is in the moderate category seen from the three indicators that have not been fulfilled.
