Abstract

Background: Puberty is a period of change or developmental stage from childhood to adulthood which includes biological changes, psychological changes, and psychosocial changes in the way they think, make decisions, and interact with the world around them. Objective: To Relate Knowledge of Adolescent Girls About Physical Changes in Puberty With Attitudes Facing Puberty at University of Muhammadiyah Banjarmasin. Research Method: This type of research is descriptive analytical, with a cross-sectional approach. Data analysis technique using Kendall Tau correlation. Research Results: From this study, the results obtained were significant values between knowledge and attitudes with a p-value of 0,255 > 0,05. Conclusion: There is no relationship between adolescent girls' knowledge of physical changes in puberty during puberty with attitudes towards puberty. Good adolescent knowledge and attitudes towards physical changes during puberty should be maintained and improved again to understand health, especially reproduction in adolescents, which allows someone to adapt to their environment and be able to solve the problems they face.

Abstract

Since the development of interventional cardiology, including coronary procedures and intracardiac implant devices, the use of arterial vessel access, particularly through the radial and femoral arteries, has become increasingly frequent. However, these transradial and transfemoral approaches have been associated with various vascular complications at the access sites particularly in ICCU. Such complications increase the risk of mortality, morbidity, healthcare costs, and the length of patient hospitalization. Early detection and prompt management of complications in ICCU are crucial to reducing post-procedural mortality and morbidity.

Abstract

Sexual education in schools is a critical necessity to ensure students' reproductive wellbeing and health. The implementation of sexual education faces various challenges, including social and cultural stigma, lack of training for educators, and limited policy support. However, the importance of this topic drives the need for comprehensive strategies, such as inclusive curriculum development, intensive training for teachers, parental involvement, and policy support from the government. These strategies aim to overcome these barriers and increase the effectiveness of sexual education in schools, positively impacting the younger generation.

Abstract

Developing healthy living skills through the school curriculum is an educational approach that aims to integrate health-related knowledge, attitudes and behaviours into the formal learning system. This approach covers various aspects of health, including physical, mental, emotional and social health, which are taught in a systematic and sustainable manner as part of the school curriculum. The aim is to equip students with the practical skills necessary to lead healthy lifestyles and make responsible decisions regarding their health. In this context, healthy life skills include a range of abilities such as an understanding of nutrition and a balanced diet, the importance of physical activity, stress management, communication skills, healthy decision-making, and an understanding of the risks of risky behaviours such as drug use or unsafe sexual behaviour. This approach focuses not only on delivering information, but also on developing practical skills through interactive learning methods, such as group discussions, role plays, and problem-based projects. By integrating healthy living skills into the school curriculum, it is expected that students can develop habits and mindsets that support their health and well-being throughout life.

Abstract

The revolution in health monitoring is characterised by the utilisation of digital technologies, including mobile apps and wearable devices, which enable real-time health monitoring. These technologies help individuals track various health indicators such as physical activity, nutritional intake, and sleep quality, and provide medical professionals with valuable data for more precise diagnosis and treatment. In addition, telemedicine expands healthcare access through remote consultations and improves adherence to treatment plans with reminders and early alerts. Overall, these innovations give individuals more control over their own health and strengthen interactions with healthcare providers.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a significant tool in the management of COVID-19 patients, with applications ranging from initial diagnosis, disease progression monitoring, to hospital logistics management. Machine learning and deep learning technologies have enabled rapid and accurate analysis of radiological images and patient data, while AI predictive applications facilitate more personalised and effective treatment planning. However, the application of AI in this context is faced with challenges such as data privacy, information security, and integration with existing health systems. While offering great potential, the use of AI must be carefully regulated to ensure its safe and ethical use, as well as its acceptance by medical personnel and the public.

Abstract

Genetic diseases have long been a major challenge in the medical world, often difficult to treat with conventional methods. However, rapid developments in biotechnology have opened up new opportunities for more effective therapies. The review in this study uses the literature method. The results showed that the latest biotechnology innovations applied in the therapy of genetic diseases can be done by gene therapy, genome editing using CRISPR-Cas9, stem cell therapy, and pharmacogenomic approaches. These techniques offer the potential to repair or replace defective genes, regenerate affected tissues, and optimise treatment based on an individual's genetic profile. With that, biotechnological innovations open a new era in the treatment of genetic diseases, offering hope for patients and the potential to change the paradigm in the management of genetic conditions.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of preparing young people as environmental health ambassadors through education and active involvement in activities that support environmental sustainability. Formal education in schools serves as the main foundation in raising environmental awareness, while the role of community and family strengthens the application of environmental values in daily life. In addition, support from the government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) through training programmes and campaigns is crucial to provide a platform that enables the younger generation to contribute to environmental conservation. With a comprehensive and synergistic strategy, young people can be empowered to become agents of change dedicated to maintaining and improving environmental health.

Abstract

The application of nanomedicine technology in the treatment of chronic diseases shows a very promising potential to revolutionise conventional therapeutic approaches. Through their ability to improve drug bioavailability, more precise targeting, and controlled drug delivery, nanomedicines open up new opportunities in the management of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. The advantages of nanomedicines in overcoming biological barriers, improving drug efficacy, and reducing side effects provide new hope for patients suffering from chronic diseases that have been difficult to treat with conventional methods. However, despite its great potential, the application of nanomedicines still faces significant challenges. Long-term safety issues, complexity in production and regulation, and high development costs are still major barriers to the widespread adoption of this technology. Further research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the development of a comprehensive regulatory framework are required to overcome these challenges. With continued efforts in overcoming the existing barriers, nanomedicine has the potential to transform the landscape of chronic disease treatment, offering more effective and personalised solutions to millions of patients worldwide.

Abstract

3D printing technology has revolutionised healthcare, particularly in prosthetics and implants. This research examines the role and impact of 3D printing in developing medical solutions tailored to individual patient needs. The method used included a literature review. Results show that 3D printing enables more accurate, efficient and affordable prosthetics and implants. The technology also offers high design flexibility, enabling the creation of complex structures that are difficult to achieve with conventional methods. In addition, the integration of biocompatible materials and sensor technology opens up opportunities for more functional and responsive implants. Despite challenges such as regulation and standardisation, 3D printing has the potential to change the paradigm in healthcare, improve patients' quality of life, and pave the way for future medical innovations. Further research is needed to optimise materials, improve manufacturing precision, and address ethical and accessibility issues.
