Abstract

Online learning policies serving as the answer to the world of education during the COVID-19 pandemic period raise some problems to students. They find it difficult to understand learning materials because the teacher's explanation is very limited, so many tasks and teachers cannot supervise the students. As a result, students are quickly getting bored with learning activities at home, they cannot directly meet their classmates; and this condition is getting worse due to the fact that their homes are less supportive to their learning activities. This research is aimed at studying the State Madrasah Tsanawiyah Students’ experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic era from March to July 2020. A descriptive qualitative analysis method was employed. The primary data were obtained from the results of observations and open questionnnaires sent to 42 the madrasah tsanawiyah students from Sidoarjo, Malang, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Aceh, and Padang Panjang. The secondary data were taken from online news about the distance learning. It was found that the distance learning for madrasah tsanawiyah students was troublesome experiences due to inadequate facility and infrastructures in the internet quota, smart phones, laptops, and also unsupporting home environment and improper the teaching techniques. However, some students were happy with this distance learning because it may give them new experiences, learning with a laptop or a mobile phone is exciting, it may improve the literacy in technology, it is flexible in terms of time, and it is not necessary for them to go to schools. It is recommended that the government improve the quality of the internet services, give more internet assistance quota, and hold training for the teachers on online learning.

Abstract

This research was picturing the society of Ahmadiyah (which consistsof only ten families) in Kudus, Central Java. On one hand this community can be so adaptive to outers (non-Ahmadiyah people) such as joining their yasiinan or manaqiban groups and attending neighborhood meetings  and can be so exclusive on the other hand. By exclusive here means that the Ahmadiyah people in Kudus will recite the quran and perform daily prayers together with themselves in their own mosque (Ahmadi mosque). The acceptance of Ahmadiyah in Kudus began when in 1989 some people in Kudus looked for physical and spiritual tranquility to Ahmadi  people in Gabus, Pati, Central Java. The Ahmadi people of Gabus  then taught them sesorah (Ahmadi teachings) which was suitable  with them so that the Ahmadi teaching then well received.  Kinship and patron client (employer-employee) relationship are two significant factors for the Ahmadiyah recruitment. The Ahmadiyah in Kudus could exist for the “center” (Bogor) sends them religious teachers who teach  and lead their daily prayers in their own masjid. This masjid is built on a  piece of land given by Ahmadi people. In order for their existence among local  people not to be regarded such as creating “water and oil” relationship,  Ahmadi people perform some social events which more outers are involved  in, such as inviting them to halal bihalal forum and blood donor.

Abstract

It is an undeniable fact that environmental crisis take place everywhere. It causes environmental damage in various spheres This crisis demands some awareness from the society. Therefore, it is not surprising that many activists of environment create concepts, both secular and religious nuance, to reduce the crisis. In the last few years, concept of theology of environment started to appear. This concept is relevant to be discussed, as it could bridge the secular and theological theory of environment. This research aims to look what is the environmental theology ideas of Mujiyono Abdillah and Robert P. Borrong. Also, this research identifies the similarities and differences between Abdillah’s and Borrong’s thoughts as well as how their theories could contribute to solve the environmental crisis. This is a library research and the primary source of this study is a book entitled Agama Ramah Lingkungan - Perspektif Al-Qur’an (Eco-Friendly Religion - Perspective of the Qur'an) by Mujiyono Abdillah work and Borrong’s work entitled Etika Bumi Baru (Neo-Eco Ethics). The data is analyzed by the hermeneutic theory of Hans-Georg Gadamer. The research found out that environmental theology of Abdillah includes proportional theology and meta-social-system theory. While Borrong also constructs two theories of environmental theology: theocentric inclusive theology and new earth ethic. Through these theological theories, Abdillah and Borrong expect to awaken people minds so that they could restructure their relationship with the environment. Both of the authors employ different methods. While Abdillah only utilize theology as the basis of his argument, Borrong benefits from both theology as well as biblical ethics. These theories provide an invaluable contribution to be part of the solution to the environmental crisis as they could be the alternative environmental theory which change the attitude of the community in treating the environment.

This manuscript was studied by seeing its position between two texts in two traditions (keraton and pesantren), but in the same milieu (Sultanete Yogyakarta), i.e Serat Suryaraja (royal heritage of Yogyakarta Sultanete) and Al-Sunī al-maṭālib fī isṭilāḥal-‘awāqib by Kiai Nur Iman from Pesantren Mlangi of Yogyakarta. Abstract

Interfaith dialog is commonly carried out to harmonize the relationship and minimize conflicts between religious believers. This study examines how the functional structure of an interfaith community and beliefs can create harmonious interfaith relationship through an interfaith dialog held in Kudus, Central Java. This study is designed with qualitative research model by applying the phenomenological approach. The data were technically collected through interviews, observation, document studies and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Theoretically, this study used Talcott Parsons’ structural functional theory. The results showed that the Interfaith and Interbelief Communities of Pantura (TALI AKRAP) is a system in society where the religious adherents and the flow of beliefs are the integrated elements, each of which should function one another in creating a balance in society. As a system, TALI AKRAP holds four imperative functions which are simultaneously integrated in action systems, namely adaptation, goal attention, integration and learn pattern maintenance or commonly abbreviated AGIL. The existence of adaptation between religious adherents in the community aims to understand, recognize and accept one another as an effort to realize the harmony among religious believers. The goal to be achieved is a community with concern, tolerance, lives side by side and accepts differences as a gift from the God Almighty, all of which are integrated in social dialog activities between religious believers which exist for a long time and are carried out continuously.
