Abstract

In the 1980s, the government issued a ban on log exports. This policy was intended to encourage domestic downstream forest-based industries and the export of processed products. Subsequently, in 1992 the government doubled the sawn wood export tax and made it impossible to export rough sawn wood. However, these policies then resulted in industrial capacities and led to unsustainable logging practices. This study aims to identify and analyze factors that influence the production and demand of logs in Indonesia, as well as to evaluate the impacts of relevant policy on the Indonesian forestry sector. For this purpose, the author uses an econometric approach with a simultaneous equation model. The parameters in the model are estimated using the 2SLS (Two Stage Least Square) method. Then a simulation analysis is employed to measure the response of the model to changes in policy instruments. The author hopes this study can give a picture of log demand and supply in Indonesia and their related policies.

Abstract

Consumer's loyalty is one of the important factors to achieve success for an organization. For service industry, image of service provider is crucial in order to create consumer's loyalty. Moreover, personal relationship between the company staff and consumers becomes very important to build the loyalty of service consumers, however, this relationship is less important for the tangible products. The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between imageand personal relationship with the loyalty of hotel consumers in Jakarta, The Result of this research has significant implications for service providers, especially hotels. Initially, this research indicates the importance of image and personal relationship to determine consumer loyalty which can be used as a reference for hotel managers to improve the hotel's service standard. Second, this research indicates significant proof in understanding hotel guests' behaviour that loyal consumers will tend to repurchase. Management or provision of service and interaction between hotel guests and improper staff behaviour will result in consumers' disloyalty and may cause consumers to move to competitors.

Abstract

This research investigates the correlation between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risk scores and stock returns in Indonesia’s LQ45 market from 2016 to 2022, considering the influence of firm size. Analyzing data from 39 LQ45-listed firms, panel data estimations, and the Hausman test, the study reaffirms the well-documented firm size effect, showing smaller firms with higher stock returns. However, it does not identify a significant impact of ESG risk scores on stock returns during the study period. This suggests that ESG practices may not yet significantly influence stock performance in the Indonesian market, possibly due to the nascent stage of ESG adoption, introduced publicly by the Ministry of Finance in 2022. The findings highlight the importance of ongoing research and awareness as Indonesia's corporate governance and investment landscape evolve with respect to ESG considerations.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to elucidate the correlation between visitor satisfaction and the inclination to revisit. Furthermore, it encompasses supplementary factors such as perceived value, destination image, service quality, and accessibility. The research approach involved data collection using an online survey and sampling at the Tarutung tourist area, with a total of 203 respondents. The study's findings suggest that women make up the majority of tourists visiting the Tarutung tourism region. Furthermore, the tourists who visit are predominantly self-reliant individuals who do not depend on a travel agent. They tend to be between the ages of 25 and 30, which is commonly regarded as the prime working age. They can also be referred to as those who hold a bachelor's degree and have undergone formal schooling. Most of them are also making their first visit to the Tarutung tourism destination. By conducting data analysis, this research also concludes that there are two hypotheses that have a negligible effect. Insufficient evidence exists to indicate that the perception and ease of reaching a destination significantly affect tourist satisfaction. However, the three surviving theories were discovered to have a significant influence. Empirical evidence has demonstrated that both Perceived Value and Service Quality significantly influence tourist satisfaction in a positive manner. On the other hand, the level of satisfaction experienced by tourists also has a positive influence on their likelihood to visit again.

Abstract

The development of internet technology makes human activities easier and faster. One form of technological innovation in the financial sector is an electronic wallet (e-wallet) online payment system. At the beginning of its launch, some e-wallets provided consumers with massive promotions (spend money). However, currently, massive promotions are no longer offered by some e-wallets. This study aims to examine consumer intentions to continue using e-wallets even though the company currently no longer provides promotions as before. Adopting the Post Acceptance Model (PAM) to determine consumer sustainability factors when using information systems. This is achieved by examining the variables that affect satisfaction and the impact of satisfaction on the value of continued use of information systems on e-wallet applications.  A total of 307 samples were collected by purposive sampling of e-wallet users who live or work in Jabodetabek. The data analysis method uses structural equation modeling. The results showed that satisfaction could influence the desire to continue using the e-wallet application felt after use, the perceived benefits received (perceived usefulness), and the enjoyment or pleasure felt in using the e-wallet application.
