Abstract

Book Design entitled “My Acne Journey, Kenali, Atasi, Cegah Jerawat” for Teenagers Age 13-18 with Digital Illustration Techniques. The design of the final project in the form of a journal entitled "My Acne Vulgaris" aims to become an interactive information medium by adapting the bullet journal system. This book contains an introduction to acne vulgaris in general and how to treat acne-prone skin that can be applied to everyday life for teenage girls aged 13-18 years. The research method applied is using a descriptive qualitative method by collecting data from the results of the literature, questionnaires, interviews, internet and observation. Based on the results of data collection, it is known that acne vulgaris can affect mental health and reduce self-confidence, especially in women, so knowledge about acne vulgaris is needed. In designing this book, attention to design rules combined with illustrations can be an attraction. Through this book, it is hoped that it can become an interactive medium to increase knowledge about acne vulgaris and increase self-confidence in adolescents.

Abstract

AbstractThe Learning Process of a Deaf Kid Through Photo Story Approach. Photo storyis a subsidiary of photojournalism. Photo story is an arrangement of photos that canconvey a strong message, arouse enthusiasm, present a moving message, entertain, andprovoke debate. Photo stories are an approach to storytelling by using several photosand additional text to explain context or background. The photo technique taken is blackand white to symbolize the silent world of deaf children that is different from the othernormal world. The purpose of this research is to document Justin’s learning process andsocial life at SD-LB Pangudi Luhur, West Jakarta, and to visualize Justin as a student ofSLB PL in narrative photo stories. The method used in this research is observation andalso study literature. Based on the results of the research, the photo stories in this paperare a collection of more than 10 photos arranged in such a way and are interrelatedto tell a phenomenon or an event from the author’s point of view. This story photois narrative. The author takes a candid photoshoot of Justin to capture the essenceof Justin’s person and behavior. In black and white photo techniques, recognizing thecharacter of the light to show the gradation of the photo is very important. Black andwhite photos are taken by the author to depict a world that is quiet, a little gloomy,without color, for most deaf children to live their lives.Keywords: journalism, black and white, deaf, photo stories, narrativeAbstrakProses Belajar Seorang Anak Tunarungu Melalui Pendekatan Photo Story. Photostory merupakan genre foto cabang dari foto jurnalistik. Photo story merupakan fotosusunan foto yang mampu menyampaikan pesan yang kuat, membangkitkan semangat,menghadirkan pesan haru, menghibur, hingga memancing perdebatan. Foto cerita adalahpendekatan bercerita dengan menggunakan beberapa foto dan tambahan teks untukmenjelaskan konteks atau latar belakang. Teknik foto yang diambil adalah hitam-putihuntuk melambangkan dunia sunyi dari anak-anak tunarungu yang berbeda dengan dunianormal yang lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendokumentasikan prosesbelajar dan kehidupan sosial Justin di SD-LB Pangudi Luhur Jakarta Barat dan untukmemvisualisasikan Justin sebagai pelajar dari SLB PL dalam photo story. Metode yangdigunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan observasi dan juga studi literatur. Berdasarkanhasil penelitian, foto cerita dalam tulisan ini adalah merupakan kumpulan lebih dari10 foto yang disusun sedemikian rupa dan saling terkait menceritakan fenomena atausuatu peristiwa dari sudut pandang penulis. Foto cerita ini bersifat foto naratif. Penulismelakukan pemotretan secara candid terhadap Justin untuk menangkap esensi daripribadi dan perilaku Justin. Dalam teknik foto hitam putih, mengenali karakter cahayauntuk menampilkan gradasi foto sangatlah penting. Foto warna hitam dan putih diambiloleh penulis untuk menggambarkan dunia yang sunyi, sedikit suram, tanpa warna, bagisebagian besar anak tunarungu dalam menjalani hidupnya.Kata kunci: foto cerita, available lighting, hitam dan putih, tunarungu

Abstract

Photography journalistic is use as factual media in the form of visuals that provide interesting information. The Reform corruption demonstrations demanded the preparation (RKUHP) and RUU KPK. At the photo of the Corruption Reform Demonstration, the writer uses the theory of journalistic photography as a photo that is valuable for information as well as news and uses the EDFAT and Decisive moment methods. The research objective is to document the situation of the corruption demonstration that uses the EDFAT method in journalistic as well as providing factual information. The research method was carried out by observation. The author observed existing photos as well as literature studies for data collection. The results of the research are photo works that use journalistic by paying attention to the EDFAT method in the photo taking design, as well as the decisive moment theory in taking an appropriate event.  Keywords: Decisive moment, Democracy,  EDFAT,  Journalistic photography.

Abstract

Abstract Design of 3D Serial Animation for Maluku Folk Songs. Indonesian folk songs, one of which is the Maluku folk song, are currently experiencing an existential crisis due to a decreasing interest by the younger generation because of modern pop culture entry. Preservation needs to be carried out by build interest and forming a listening habit to folk songs from an early age by targeting the younger generation, especially children, using modern/digital media like 3D animation that is preferable, entertaining, and easily accessible. The research process consists of experimental studies to produce scripts, characters, environments, storyboards, and animations. In-depth interviews with several animation experts to get input and corrections on created animation. Questionnaire as an animation test tool to get responses and from target audience. Based on the research results, the created animations have been successful in the aspects of the story, character design, and environment design. Lagu daerah Indonesia, salah satunya lagu daerah Maluku saat ini sedang mengalami krisis eksistensi akibat penurunan minat oleh generasi muda yang disebabkan masuknya budaya pop modern. Usaha pelestarian perlu dilakukan dengan cara menumbuhkan minat dan membentuk kebiasaan mendengarkan lagu daerah sejak dini dengan menargetkan generasi muda khususnya anak-anak, menggunakan media modern/digital seperti animasi 3D yang lebih disukai, menarik, dan mudah diakses. Proses riset terdiri dari studi eksperimental untuk menghasilkan rancangan desain naskah, karakter, environment, storyboard, dan animasi. Wawancara mendalam bersama beberapa ahli animasi untuk mendapatkan masukan dan koreksi atas animasi. Kuesioner sebagai alat uji animasi untuk mendapatkan respon dan penilaian dari taget audiens. Abstract

Abstract  MSMEs’ Product Packaging Review on Solo’s Destination Branding. With its designation (Solo.red) as the City of Culture, Solo has a distinct image and its positioning on the Indonesian tourism map, which is very appealing if showcased on the packaging of its souvenir products.  MSMEs' processed food products are souvenirs that tourists find attractive when visiting a tourist destination. Packaging that promotes regional specialties commonly encourages tourists to purchase products. The product packaging can include storytelling about the areas visited, but this strategy is not used for all MSMEs' processed food products. The identification of design elements on the packaging and the literature study on how to package processed food according to government legality for processed food products of SMEs were performed in this study to investigate the implementation of the destination branding concept of Solo as a City of Culture on the packaging of souvenir products. It is expected that packaging labels developed with such a strategy empower MSMEs and support their products to become the spearheads in the tourism sector in Solo City.   Keywords: processed food products, packaging, MSMEs, destination branding   Abstrak Tinjauan Kemasan Produk UMKM pada Destination Branding Kota Solo. Dengan penetapan Kota Surakarta (Solo.red) sebagai Kota Budaya, Solo mempunyai citra khas dan positioning tersendiri dalam peta pariwisata Indonesia yang akan sangat menarik apabila ditampilkan dalam kemasan produk oleh-olehnya. Produk makanan olahan UMKM merupakan produk oleh-oleh yang cukup diminati wisatawan saat mengunjungi suatu destinasi wisata. Kemasan yang menampilkan kekhasan daerah seringkali mendorong pembelian produk oleh wisatawan. Kemasan produk bisa menampilkan storytelling atas daerah yang dikunjungi, tapi tidak semua produk makanan olahan UMKM dikemas dengan strategi demikian. Identifikasi atas elemen-elemen desain pada kemasan dan studi literatur tentang cara pengemasan makanan olahan sesuai legalitas pemerintah atas produk makanan olahan UMKM dalam penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat implementasi konsep destination branding Kota Solo sebagai Kota Budaya pada kemasan produk oleh-olehnya. Diharapkan, Label kemasan dengan strategi demikian akan membuat UMKM semakin berdaya dan produk mereka mampu menjadi ujung tombak dalam bidang pariwisata di Kota Solo. Abstract

Abstract Nowadays, phenomena arising from the Z generation were born in 1996-2015, can call as Alpha generation become new generations that cannot escape from the visual (Altitude). As a result, learning media by textbooks will drab and hard to delve by. These are also visible in history learning, especially the Puputan Badung war. It is one of the eventful milestones in the history of Puputan in Bali, especially during the royal era. However, historical records describing this war are getting blurry. Therefore, the Puputan Badung historical war was created in the form of a motion graphic as a new media that can convey and educate the history of the Puputan Badung war. It was done by conducting several research methods including literature studies regarding historical events that occurred, in-depth interviews with specialists, experimental studies, and questionnaires that were used to explore feedback from the target audience later. Keywords: Explanation Video, Motion graphic, Bali History, Puputan Badung Abstrak Dewasa ini terdapat fenomena yang timbul akibat generasi Z atau bisa dikatakan generasi Alpha menjadi generasi baru yang tidak bisa luput dari kemajuan teknologi dan visual. Akibatnya, media pembelajaran berupa buku teks akan menjadi hal yang membosankan dan sulit untuk dipelajari. Hal ini juga terlihat pada pembelajaran sejarah. Salah satu sejarah yang penting untuk dipelajari adalah sejarah Perang Puputan Badung yang merupakan salah satu tonggak penting sejarah Puputan di Bali khususnya pada era kerajaan. Walaupun demikian, catatan sejarah yang menjelaskan tentang Perang Puputan ini semakin kabur. Maka daripada itu, perancangan video eksplanasi sejarah Perang Puputan Badung ini dibuat dengan tujuan untuk menambah media baru berupa sebuah motion grafis yang dapat menyampaikan dan mengedukasi sejarah Perang Puputan Badung. Perancangan ini dilakukan dengan beberapa metode penelitian seperti studi literatur mengenai kejadian sejarah yang terjadi, wawancara mendalam dengan ahli, studi eksperimental, dan kuesioner yang kemudian digunakan untuk menggali feedback dari target audience. Abstract

Abstract Visual Design Of Interactive Illustration Book About Teeth and Mouth Introduction For Kids. Dental caries are the most common problem experienced by children aged 3–6 years resulting from the habit of consuming sweet foods or drinks without cleaning their teeth afterwards. Environment and family in middle social status is one of the contributing factors why children aged 3–6 years are not used to cleaning their teeth after eating or drinking sweets. The negligence of some parents who let their children snack carelessly, does not teach the child to get used to brushing his teeth so as to create the nature of the child to be lazy and do not care about the health of the mouth, teeth and cause the child to experience toothache at a young age. Therefore, a learning tool is needed to help, making it easier for parents to introduce learning about teeth and mouth to their child (3–6 years old) in a fun way. The design in this study will begin by doing surveys, interviews and observations in advance about what children aged 3-6 years like so the results can be on target. Keywords: children's teeth, intreactive books, children's habits. Abstrak Perancangan Visual Buku Ilustrasi Interaktif Tentang Pengenalan Gigi Dan Mulut Kepada Anak Usia Dini. Karies gigi adalah masalah yang paling sering dialami oleh anak usia 3–6 tahun yang diakibatkan oleh kebiasaan mengonsumsi makanan atau minuman yang manis tanpa membersihkan gigi setelahnya. Lingkungan dan keluarga dalam status sosial menengah menjadi salah satu faktor penyebab mengapa anak usia 3–6 tahun tidak terbiasa membersihkan gigi mereka setelah makan atau minum yang manis-manis. Kelalaian sebagian orang tua yang membiarkan anaknya jajan sembarangan, tidak mengajarkan anak untuk membiasakan diri menyikat gigi sehingga menciptakan sifat anak menjadi pemalas dan tidak peduli akan kesehatan mulut, gigi serta menyebabkan anak mengalami sakit gigi di usianya yang masih kecil. Maka dari itu dibutuhkan suatu alat belajar untuk membantu, memudahkan orang tua mengenalkan pembelajaran mengenai gigi dan mulut kepada anak mereka (3–6 tahun) secara menyenangkan. Perancangan dalam penelitian ini akan dimulai dengan melakukan survei, wawancara serta pengamatan terlebih dahulu mengenai apa yang disukai oleh anak-anak usia 3–6 tahun agar hasil yang dicapai dapat sesuai sasaran. Abstract

Outdoor Media and Its Impact on People and Environmental Quality. In the rapidly developing world, the development of the field of advertising has also experienced significant progress. This development is shown through the number of advertisements that appear around our everyday living space. Starting from television, newspapers, magazines, radio, billboards, and videotron to running ads that are affixed to private and public transport. All of these media aim to attract as much public attention as possible to increase the sales of products/services advertised, also, as much as possible. But often the installation of this advertising media is not accompanied by a thorough consideration of the influence on the quality of life of the society and the surrounding environments. Taxes that tend to be affordable, and government regulations that is excluding the quality of the environment where billboards can be installed can cause people to be exposed to ‘sampah visual’ or visual waste from many advertisements that are not necessarily needed. Media Luar Ruang Serta Dampaknya Terhadap Kualitas dan Lingkungan Hidup Masyarakat. Dalam perkembangan dunia yang makin pesat, perkembangan dunia periklanan juga mengalami kemajuan yang signifikan. Perkembangan ini ditunjukkan melalui banyaknya iklan yang muncul di sekitar ruang hidup manusia. Mulai dari televisi, koran, majalah, radio, papan reklame, videotron hingga iklan berjalan yang ditempelkan pada kendaraan pribadi beberapa orang. Semua media ini bertujuan untuk menarik perhatian masyarakat sebanyak-banyaknya sehingga dapat meningkatkan penjualan produk/jasa yang diiklankan sebanyak-banyaknya juga. Namun seringkali pemasangan media iklan ini tidak diimbangi dengan pertimbangan yang menyeluruh akan dampaknya terhadap kualitas hidup masyarakat dan lingkungan hidup sekitarnya. Pengenaan pajak yang cenderung murah, dan regulasi pemerintah yang kurang mempertimbangkan kualitas lingkungan tempat pemasangan papan reklame bisa mengakibatkan masyarakat terpapar sampah visual dari banyaknya iklan yang belum tentu dibutuhkan.
