Biology is a science that has fundamental dimensions. Biology studies about living things. One of the things learned in Biology is the concept of Animalia. Inquiry learning model based on the cooperative script. The research referred to quasi-experimental research by applying inquiry learning model based on Cooperative Script in X MIPA 5 class as an experimental class and STAD learning model in X MIPA 1 class as a control class conducted at SMAN 1 Arjasa, Jember in the even semester of 2018/2019 academic year. The inquiry learning model based on cooperative script aimed to improve students' learning achievement. The result of data were analyzed by using covariance analysis (ANAKOVA) which showed that the inquiry learning model based on cooperative script had a significant effect of p = 0,000 with the results of 49.95 in the control class and 54.12 in the experimental class on students' cognitive of grade X at SMAN 1 Arjasa, Jember. The test results of the independent sample t-test implemented in the invertebrate concept had a significant difference to psychomotor students at p = 0,000 with the results of 80.40 in the experimental class and 67.67 in the control class which revealed that from the results obtained both included in the good category.

Mathematics refers to the material which has an abstract object and is built on deductive reasoning processes, covering the truth of a concept obtained as a logical consequence of previously accepted truths. To be easily understood by students, deductive reasoning processes on mathematics learning is used to strengthen the understanding that students already have. The purpose of learning mathematics is to train how to think systematically, logically, critically, creatively and consistently. This research was based on several problems: (a) What is the improvement of students’ learning achievement by implementing TGT cooperative learning method? (b) What is the effect of TGT cooperative learning method on students’ learning motivation?. While the objectives of this study were: (a) Finding out the increase in students’ learning achievement after the implementation of TGT cooperative learning method. (b) Knowing the effect of students’ learning motivation after TGT model of cooperative learning was applied. This research used action research as many as three cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages, they were: design, activity and observation, reflection, and refining. The targets of this research were the students of class XI IPA4 at SMAN 3 Jember. The data obtained were in the form of formative test results, observation sheets of teaching and learning activities. It can be concluded that TGT model cooperative method had positive effect on the students' learning motivation in understanding the material concept of opportunities so that they were able to achieve maximum learning achievement and this learning model is also capable to be used as an alternative mathematics learning so that the teachers can convey mathematical material concepts and absorbed by the students more effectively.

Nowadays, a cooperative learning approach has been developed to produce well-learning objectives. At class that depends on teacher as the learning source, then lecture is the main option as the learning strategy. Therefore, a new strategy which is able to empower students is needed. A strategy that does not require the students to memorize facts, but rather a strategy that encourages them to construct knowledge by themselves. One of the learning achievements obtained is Science subject for grade V. Learning science emphasizes logical thinking ability, not memorizing facts. Based on the preliminary observation, the researcher conducted a classroom action research on Science subject on the fifth grade students of SDN 2 Tribungan at Managran district in the first semester by using Jigsaw technique. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that: 1) The improvement of students’ learning achievement showed that learning motivation was influenced by the learning strategy given by the teacher. High learning motivation influenced high learning achievement. 2) The prove of the improvement of students’ learning achievement could be explained in the results of cycle 4 activities. Based on the observation done in the previous cycles and cycle 4, there was found that 1) the students had understood and were ready to learn the material presented by the teacher, 2) Most of the students had been encouraged to express opinions during the class discussion, and 3) the activities ran well, the class atmosphere was more alive, so the learning process was fun.

The learning process germane to the national events sub-theme surrounding the proclamation of independence requires a media that is able to become a means of delivering abstract material to be concrete not just images available in textbooks, for which more innovative media is needed, namely learning media in comic form. This study aims to produce learning media in the form of comics that can foster the character of discipline, using the R & D model from Borg and Gall (2003) which consists of 7 stages. It aims to describe the process, produce products and disseminate products. The aspects of media quality studied are validity and effectiveness. The media developed is evaluated by material experts and media to determine its feasibility. The subjects of this study were all VA students of SDN Kebonsari 03 Jember, which included 35 students as subjects of the small-scope trial. 25 VA students from Public Elementary School Kebonsari 04 Jember were involved in a control class, and 26 VB students were involved in the experimental class. The data collection in this study was done through observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and validation. The results of data analysis showed that the media was proven valid with the validator percentage validating 80.3%. The percentage of student learning outcomes was 82.35%. The average results of student affective assessment for disciplinary characters are 95%. From these results, it can be concluded that comic media has fulfilled the quality aspects of the media and can be used as a medium of learning in schools. In the field trial, the results obtained for the control class average pretest score was 75.2 and the average posttest score was 82.5. The experimental class obtained an average score of 78.1 in pretest and 90.2 in the posttest score. Learning with comic media developed is proven effective to foster the character of discipline.

The area of Indonesia is 1.3% of the Earth, but it has the highest level of biodiversity. Biodiversity in the environment needs to be explored. The mountain area is one of the most suitable environments for exploring biodiversity, such as the Gumitir Mountain. Gumitir Mountain has altitude around 620 meters above sea level. Gumitir Mountain has high biodiversity. Mosses (Bryophyta), ferns (Pteridophyta), till seed plants (Spermatophyta), and including Lichen was found in this area. Lichen is a mutualism symbiotic organism between fungi and green algae or blue-green algae that lives on the surface of the tree or another substrate with a variety of shapes and colours. This study aims to determine the diversity of kinds and frequencies of each kind of lichen found in the Gumitir Mountain area of Jember Regency. This research classified into exploratory research. Data retrieval is using the cruised method. Lichens are found in 20 species with Phlyctis arena (Ach.) Flot. as kind of lichen that is abundant in Gumitir Mountain Area.

Mathematics is very closely related to the habits that exist in society. The habits that exist in society can be called a culture. The concept or aspect of mathematics related to culture is called ethnomathematics. Ethnomathematics can also be used as teaching materials that can attract students' interest in mathematics, because students will find it easier to learn science that is directly related to real life. Thus, ethnomathematics is very important in mathematics learning activities so students can learn between mathematics and culture, and know the cultural activities that exist in the surrounding community. In this study, the ethnomathematics of the tumpeng and the Tumpeng Sewu Banyuwangi ritual, which is one of the cultures in Indonesia, will be described as well as utilizing the results of their research into ethnomathematic Students’ Worksheets (LKS). Ethnomathematics obtained are activities of counting, counting, and measuring, as well as some mathematical concepts such as algebra, arithmetic, and geometry.

The implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) based on lesson study aimed to determine its effect on the biology learning achievement of high school students. This referred to quasi-experimental research by applying CTL learning based on lesson study to the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class. The population in this study amounted to 286 students (Science X class students of SMA Negeri 2 Jember). The sample in this study was determined through homogeneity test, normality test, and random sampling to determine the control class and the experimental class. The students' affective learning achievement was analyzed by using the independent sample t-test, while their cognitive learning achievement was analyzed by using ANAKOVA test. Based on the test results of the independent sample t-test, it was found that the students' affective learning achievement differed significantly between the students in experimental class and control class. Based on the results of ANAKOVA test, it was known that the application of CTL learning based on Lesson Study has a significant effect on students' cognitive learning achievement.
