Abstract

PKBM Sumber Ilmu, The partner of this community services has failed to pass the first steps of pursuing the accreditation. The cause of this failure is that the formal education mindset is still embedded in the managers and educators which influence the pattern of preparing accreditation documents. As the result, the document was not satisfy the assessor which assesst the requirement. This community services try to provide supervission for the managers and tutors of PKBM Sumber Ilmu so they can (1) prepare accreditation documents that are in accordance with the characteristics of non-formal education, and (2) prepare maximum supporting evidences for fields assessment. This program implement transformative learning and andragogy approach which incude two main activities namely workshop and assessment simmulation. The stage of activities are providing material related to accreditation documents and evidences of field assessment for non-formal education units, providing assistance to make sure the suitability of the documents and evidences, and carry out field assessment. The result of this community services are (1) the achievement of the accredation documents reach more than 80%, and (2) the readiness of supporting evidence for field assessment reach 80%. Because of those result, the PKBM Sumber Ilmu are ready for the whole accreditation process.

Abstract

Strategies to improve children’s speaking skills that are good and appropriate need to be known and understhood by educators, so that the potentials of children’s speaking abilities can increase optimally according to the stages of their development. The purpose of this study was to describe storytelling methods in improving speaking skills aged 2-4 years at KB Yasmin, Jember Regency. The method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Determining the research location using a purposive area. Determination of informants using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Techniques to check the validity of the data using extended observations, increased persistence and triangulation. Data analysis tenhniques use data collection, data reduction, data display and data verification. The result of the study show that will be applied so that students are interested snd enjoy listening to stories. The implementation of this storytelling method was successful in improving students’ speaking skills. Especially for the Lumajang groups of students who previously could not speak and now can speak.

Abstract

Pembinaan karang taruna dengan model transformative learning dilakukan karena masih ditemukannya karang taruna yang berada pada kondisi fakum dan kurangnya partisipasi pemuda yang berdampak terhadap keberdayaan pemuda. Sehingga menyebabkan karang taruna on/off. Pada penelitian ini, rumusan masalah yaitu bagaimana dampak pembinaan karang taruna dengan model Transformative Learning terhadap keberdayaan pemuda di Karang Taruna Hasta Jaya Kelurahan Jember Lor Kecamatan Patrang Kabupaten Jember. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan jenis data kualitatif. Teknik perolehan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan analisis merumuskan masalah, sebelum di lapangan, serta analisis Model Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dampak pembinaan karang taruna dengan model transformative learning mencakup dampak instruksional dan dampak pengiring terjadi pada pemuda Karang Taruna Hasta Jaya dimana dampak tersebut memberikan perubahan dan peningkatan terhadap keberdayaan pemuda yang meliputi potensi dan peran aktif pemuda.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Differentiated Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on elementary school students’ learning achievement in the topic of deforestation within the subject of Science and Social Studies (IPAS). The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The participants were 47 upper-grade students, 27 Student from SDN Rowotengah 03 and 20 student SDN Rowotengah 04 in Jember Regency. The experimental group (27 students) was taught using the differentiated PjBL model, while the control group (20 students) received conventional instruction. Instruments included a rubric-based observation for a multiple-choice test for learning outcomes. Descriptive analysis showed that the experimental group had higher learning achievement (82.75) compared to the control group (71.43 and 70.91, respectively). Independent sample t-tests revealed significant differences between the groups for variables (p < 0.05). These results indicate that the implementation of the differentiated PjBL model has a significant positive impact on improving elementary students’ social-emotional skills and academic achievement.
