Abstract

Although its development continues from time to time, especially in Indonesia, the influence of slang on the use of Indonesian is not so obvious. The widespread use of slang in society in general has a positive impact on the identity of the Indonesian nation today and in the future. The presence of slang in Indonesian has unwittingly enriched Indonesia's status as a national language. The method in this research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Quantitative research is a type of research that provides insight into the use of standardized words and non-standardized words among geography students. This research was attended by geography education students of Stambuk 2022 with representatives from each class. The results of the Google form distributed to 16 student respondents of the Geography Education Study Program Stambuk 2022 Medan State University show that students' understanding of standard and non-standard words is quite high. Because, in the Google form there are 20 words, the standard words are only ten, namely obsolete, ideology, practice, response, risk, change, content, method, and system. Except for these ten words, all of them are non-standard words. From this study, it can be concluded that students' understanding of the use of standard and non-standard words is quite high. Students can distinguish between standard words and non-standard words. However, non-standard words are still used in daily communication on campus. This shows how important it is to emphasize the use of good and correct Indonesian in universities in order to maintain linguistic standards.

Abstract

There is explanatory writing material in class V of elementary school, which prompted this research. Writing explanatory texts based on ideas from experience, imagination, or ideas is a learning objective in Class V. The aim of this research is to provide an overview of explanatory text writing written by students in class V at Bandar Buat Elementary School. The writing is then analyzed using an assessment rubric based on the student's writing assignment sheet. The suitability of the content of the text to the title, accuracy of sentence structure, effectiveness of word/vocabulary choice, effectiveness of sentences, and effectiveness of writing punctuation are some indicators of two aspects of explanatory writing. This research was conducted on three students in class V of Bandar Buat Elementary School. Descriptive analysis and data collection methods were used twice in this research. According to research, only one in three students in class V of Bandar Buat Elementary School has written explanatory text that meets the aspects. Apart from that, only one in three students fulfilled the linguistic aspects in their explanatory text writing.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the effectiveness of the storytelling method in developing children's speaking abilities. In the context of early childhood education, speaking ability is a fundamental skill that supports cognitive, social and emotional development. The storytelling method was chosen because it was considered capable of creating a fun and interactive learning atmosphere. This study uses a qualitative approach with a classroom action research design. The research participants involved early childhood children in a kindergarten in Indonesia. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the research show that the storytelling method significantly improves children's speaking abilities, as seen from the increase in vocabulary, sentence structure, and children's courage in speaking in public. Apart from that, this method also increases children's interest and motivation in learning. The implications of this research show that the storytelling method can be used as an effective strategy in teaching language to young children.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the social and cultural aspects in the short story Ibuku, Perempuan dari Pulau Rote by Fanny J. Poyk. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The object of study in this short story is social aspects. The data needed in this research are paragraphs in the short story “Ibuku, Perempuan dari Pulau Rote” by Fanny J. Poyk. The social aspects in “Ibuku, Perempuan dari Pulau Rote” by Fanny J. Poyk are analyzed using literary sociology techniques. The research results of the analysis that has been carried out, there are five social aspects contained in the short story “Ibuku, Perempuan dari Pulau Rote” by Fanny J. Poyk, namely (1) Social organization in the form of an empire. The form of social organization is in the form of an empire (kingdom) (2) Religion, adhering to the monotheism system (3) The system of knowledge and magic which is still very classical and has not been touched by modernization (4) The system of livelihood, namely trade (5) Arts, namely performing arts and musical instruments. Art can be in the form of making woven fabrics in this case.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-compassion and loneliness in early semester overseas students at Surabaya State University. The research method used is quantitative. The research instrument used an adaptation of the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) and the UCLA Loneliness Scale Ver 3. The research sample amounted to 177 students and sampling in this study using purposive sampling with the criteria of undergraduate students of Psychology, Surabaya State University class of 2023 and domiciled outside Surabaya. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data processing using Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis, the results of the correlation coefficient value (r = 0.427) with a p-value of 0.001 (p <0.05). The results of the analysis concluded that there is a significant negative relationship between self-compassion and loneliness in early semester overseas students at Surabaya State University. It can be interpreted, the higher the self-compassion, the lower the loneliness felt by early semester overseas students at Surabaya State University. Conversely, the lower the self-compassion, the higher the loneliness felt by early semester overseas students at Surabaya State University.

Abstract

This research aims to find out that through the implementation of citizenship education, this nation can realize a national identity and integrity. Citizenship education plays a role in preparing young people from an early age to become citizens who have good knowledge and noble character, and have skills that are devoted to the nation and state. Citizenship education has a role in introducing national identity and national integrity. National identity is the characteristic of a nation so that there are differences between each nation and country. National integration is defined as the unification or blending of a nation so that it becomes a unified whole. In this research, the basis of education will be related to and realizing a national identity and integrity in citizenship through qualitative methods or literature review.

Abstract

National identity is a very important thing in a country. Without an identity, a country's existence will not be recognized in the eyes of the world. National identity is interpreted as a dynamic condition that is formed from several factors, such as ethnicity, culture, language, religion, ideology, and so on. As time goes by, of course the situation of a country is increasingly changing. Especially in the midst of the era of globalization where all flows of information and culture can be easily accessed. Globalization will not be separated from technological developments which are closely related to the era of society 5.0. In facing society 5.0, in the era of globalization which is marked by technological advances and increasing global interconnection, the need to strengthen national identity becomes increasingly important. The presence of Society 5.0, which emphasizes the integration of technology into all aspects of life, raises new challenges for national identity. In this context, this research aims to explore the urgency of strengthening national identity in facing Society 5.0. This research uses an analytical method by analyzing literature and case studies on strengthening national identity in the context of Society 5.0.

Abstract

Learning is a process that aims. Learning objectives that are to be achieved well, of course, should take good ways or steps in knowing the success of students' learning. The extent to which students understand the learning material can only be known by conducting a learning evaluation process. This research is a literature study type research, in which the author collects materials related to the research, both from books, journals, literature, and other publications that are relevant and can be used as sources for further research by the author. As a result, learning evaluation is an assessment carried out by an educator of the extent to which students understand the learning that has been conveyed in teaching and learning activities in order to improve and improve the quality of learning. The types of evaluation such as placement, formative, diagnostic, and summative evaluation play an important role in helping educators and students to achieve the desired learning goals and outcomes. Then, determining the purpose of the evaluation, selecting the evaluation design, validating the data, processing and interpreting the data, providing interpretation and drawing conclusions, and carrying out follow-up evaluation are the steps in the learning evaluation process. Finally, a good evaluation must fulfill characteristics such as validity, objectivity, practicality, and economy in order to provide accurate information and support quality decision-making in the learning process.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of interactive learning media in the form of interactive videos in increasing the motivation to learn Indonesian at SMA 6 Padang students. This research uses the classroom action method (PTK) with a quantitative and qualitative approach. The method used is a data collection method involving SMA 6 students as samples. The instruments used were questionnaires to measure learning motivation, and tests for Indonesian language learning achievement. The research results showed that each score from the distributed questionnaire reached 93%, which shows that the use of learning media in the form of interactive videos is very effective in increasing learning motivation and learning achievement in SMA 6 Padang students.
