Abstract

This study examines the influence of parental-teacher engagement in play-based mathematical learning on the motor development and health outcomes of preschoolers. The research is grounded in socio-cultural and ecological systems theory, responding to the growing need for holistic, collaborative approaches in early childhood education that integrate academic, behavioral, and physical domains. Using a mixed-method sequential explanatory design, the study was conducted over three months in three early childhood centers in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia, involving 120 children aged 4–6 years, along with their teachers and parents. Quantitative data were collected using the Peabody Developmental Motor Scales–Second Edition (PDMS-2), a WHO-adapted Health Monitoring Checklist, and a validated observation rubric on adult collaboration. Results showed significant improvements in gross and fine motor skills (Cohen’s d = 1.98–2.63), and in health behaviors, including increased physical activity (+28%), healthier eating habits (+25%), and more consistent sleep routines (+13%). Based on semi-structured interviews and focus groups with 25 participants, the qualitative phase revealed themes such as strengthened home-school partnerships, embedded learning in daily routines, enhanced child engagement, and challenges related to time and resources. The study concludes that collaborative, play-based learning environments effectively support integrated child development, with sustained benefits when reinforced across home and school. These findings empirically support family-inclusive pedagogies and suggest the need for differentiated engagement models and longitudinal follow-up to maximize developmental outcomes.

Abstract

The study's purpose was to assess the impact of combining traditional and interactive teaching methods on students' capacity to visualise, manipulate, and transform three-dimensional objects, while also improving their spatial representation and problem-solving skills in geometry. The research monitored 132 students studying mathematics of varying proficiency levels over a semester, employing spatial imagination tasks to improve visualisation abilities. Pre- and post-assessments measured enhancements in spatial reasoning. Methods integrated interactive tools (3D modelling, simulations) with conventional geometry tasks. The study revealed that students using interactive teaching methods, including 3D modelling and computer simulations, exhibited markedly superior enhancements in spatial reasoning relative to those adhering to conventional methods. The experimental group, utilising interactive tools, attained superior scores in spatial thinking assessments, with 60% of students exceeding 70 points, in contrast to merely 35% in the control group. Furthermore, students in the experimental group indicated reduced task complexity and increased satisfaction with the learning methodologies. The findings indicate that interactive methods significantly improve students' capacity to visualise and manipulate geometric entities, thereby enhancing their spatial reasoning abilities. This study demonstrates that a combination of traditional and interactive teaching methods enhances the spatial skills essential for successful mathematical training.

Abstract

This study examines the short-term and long-term relationships between economic growth, exchange rate fluctuations, money supply, and government expenditure in India from 1980 to 2022. The study employs econometric techniques such as unit root tests, Nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) model, FMOLS & DOLS tests, and the Granger causality test is used to determine the direction of causal relationships. The data utilized in this study were collected from the Handbook of India’s Statistics (RBI) and World Development Indicators (WDI). The unit root tests indicate mixed order of integration for the selected variables. The results of the NARDL model confirm a long-term relationship among economic growth, exchange rate changes, money supply, and government expenditure. The findings indicate that undervaluation negatively affects economic growth in India, whereas overvaluation promotes it. Furthermore, the analysis reveals an asymmetric impact of exchange rate changes on economic growth. The Wald test further supports the presence of asymmetry in both the short-run and long-run. The causality test results show bidirectional causality between exchange rates, government expenditure, and economic growth, while unidirectional causality runs from money supply to economic growth. Based on the empirical findings, some policy implications may be suggested to the government. The exchange rate-controlling organization should emphasize restoring stability and pursue the establishment of a stronger exchange rate to achieve the goal of sustained economic growth and, ultimately, sustainable development
