Abstract

Diabetes mellitus was a disease that kept increased annually in the world. One of the factors that could prevent the occurrence of diabetes mellitus was self-awareness. The self-awareness for the students of nursing studies was very important to be developed, considering that nursing students were the prospective nurses which soon would become the role models in health and the nursing care givers. Thus, it was expected that the nursing students to have a high awareness. This research aimed to find out the description of self-awareness related to the risk factors of diabetes mellitus to the students of the Faculty of Nursing Universitas Padjadjaran. The method of the research was quantitative descriptive method that involved the population of the students of the Faculty of Nursing year 2014-2016 as much as 853 people, taken by simple random sampling method. The sample obtained was as much as 274 respondents. The data collection was by using self-awareness questionnaire, analyzed by frequency distribution method presented in the form of high, medium, and low self- awareness.  The result of the research regarding the  risk  factors  of  diabetes mellitus  were  most  of  the  respondents  were  included  in  the  high  category (55.20%),  however,  there  were  also  respondents  who  were  included  in  the medium category (47.44%). It can be concluded that there were respondents who have a medium self-awareness. Therefore, it is necessary to design the program to raise the self-awareness of nursing students related to diabetes mellitus risk factors.

Health education at the Medoan Ayu puskesmas was  carried out in an integrated manner with various programs but the results are less than optimal. Objective: the research objective is to find out the effect of health education with the TB Card media on the prevention of pulmonary TB transmission behavior in families at the Medoan Ayu Puskesmas Surabaya. Method: Pre-experimental one group pre-post test design. The population was  34 and the sample is 30 TB patients with non probability purposive sampling technique. The research variables consisted of independent variables, health education with TB Card media and the dependent variable, behavioral prevention of pulmonary TB transmission. The instrument used was a questionnaire sheet, analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test statistical test. Result: The results of the study before getting the intervention obtained less behavior of 12 respondents (40%), enough behavior of 12 respondents (40%), the results of the study after getting the intervention obtained good prevention behavior 26 (87%) and the results of the statistical test the influence of TB media on prevention practices p = 0,000 <a = 0.05, there is an effect of health education with TB Card Media on the prevention of pulmonary TB transmission behavior in families in the Medoan Ayu Puskesmas area of Surabaya. Abstract

Hemodialysis therapy is a lifelong therapy for the patient. One therapy that can be used in lowering stress levels and not yet widely used in Indonesia is color therapy (chromotherapy). The research design was quasi experimental with a pre-post test with control group design. The total sample of 12 intervention groups and 13 control groups was taken by purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted in March 2017 at Dr. Soepraoen Malang Hospital. The variables observed were a decrease in stress levels using the DASS questionnaire. Data were analyzed by the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that at pretest the majority of the intervention groups were at moderate stress levels of 5 people (41,7%), while in the control group 8 people (61,5%). After posttest the stress level in the intervention group fell to normal 8 people (66,7%) while in the control group it remained. The results of statistical tests obtained p value 0.001 < α 0.05 so it can be concluded that there is an effect of giving green color breathing therapy to decrease stress levels. Green color affects the central nervous system by using the retinohypothalamic tract as the main pathway of the color transmission mechanism to the limbic system and the endocrine system, so it will provide a calming effect, cause a sense of comfort, and reduce stress.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIntroduction: In adolescence, there are various changes, both physical, cognitive, and social, which cause adolescents vulnerable to reproductive health problems. The family as the closest part of adolescence is one of the main factors in improving adolescent reproductive health and has a very important role in providing sexual and reproductive health information to adolescents. Objective: to find out the communication between parents and teenagers about sexual and reproductive health. Method: The design used is a systematic review. Journal searches are conducted on online databases such as PubMed, Elsevier, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. Journals, articles, and literature reviews were found using keywords parent-adolescent communication, sexual and reproductive health, adolescents. Results: A total of 7 journal articles selected from 28 articles showed that communication between parents and adolescents regarding reproductive and sexual health was very important to do. However, the implementation is still lacking due to various factors such as lack of parental knowledge, parents lacking in communication skills, the presence of shame, and cultural influences that consider reproductive and sexual health issues as taboo to be discussed with adolescents. Discussion: The communication of parents and adolescents regarding reproductive and sexual health has been widely investigated in various countries. Interventions are needed to improve the quality of communication between parents and adolescents through increasing the knowledge of parents of these adolescents.

Abstract

Infections that occur in the hospital one of which is a nosocomial infection. Injection is one of the medical methods most often used to introduce drugs or other substances into the body for medicinal or preventive purposes. The high number of officers taking unsafe injections is one of the risk factors for nosocomial infections. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and organizational culture with nurse behavior in the application of safe injecting practices in Kendari City Hospital. This study used observational analytic with cross sectional approach with a sample of 55 people taken by proportional random sampling using the chi square test. The results showed that there was a relationship of self-efficacy (X2hit = 10,977, p value = 0,001), organizational culture (X2hit = 18,366, p value = 0,000) with nurses' behavior in applying safe injecting practices in Kendari City Hospital. The conclusion of the study is that all independent variables (self-efficacy and organizational culture) are related to nurses' behavior in applying safe injecting practices. It is recommended that the Hospital can provide socialization about safe injections to the nurse nurses and improve organizational culture and improve the self-efficacy efforts of implementing nurses.

Abstract

The number of community health nurses is not balanced with the workload given. This causes nurses at risk of experiencing physical and psychological problems that have an impact on the quality of life of the professional community health nurses. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between workload and professional quality of life in percescent nurses at the Jember district health center. This study uses a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 74 respondents. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling and proportionate random sampling. Data collection was conducted in January-March 2019. The questionnaire used was NASA-TLX (α = 0.781) and ProQoL-5 (α = 0.903). The statistical test used is spearman rank. The results showed that there was no relationship between workload and professional quality of life (p value = 0.372; CI = 95%). Community health nurses have workload (78.4%), compassion satisfaction (9.5%), burnout (59.5%) and stress traumatic secunder (13.5%) in the moderate category. High motivation and hard work of nurses in carrying out their responsibilities make the performance of nurses good, even though they have a moderate workload. Evaluation from the head of the room and also the demands of the workplace agency make the nurse work optimally. No one has measured the quality of life professionally directly but through their performance. The results of this study are expected to be an additional reference in the development of research in the field of workload and quality of life professional.
