Abstract

The school committee is an institution that plays a vital role in increasing the responsibility and role of the community in decision-making at school, as a provider of consideration in the implementation of educational policies, as a supporter, and as a controller. Therefore, the school committee needs to be empowered to be more effective in carrying out its duties and functions. This thesis discusses the role of the principal in empowering the school committee at SMK Al-Asy'ari Komis Kedungdung Sampang. There are three research focuses that are the main study in this study: First, What is the role of the principal in empowering the school committee at SMK Al-Asy'ari Komis? Second, How does the principal manage the empowerment of the school committee at SMK Al-Asy'ari Komis? Third, What are the obstacles faced by the principal in empowering the school committee at SMK Al-Asy'ari Komis? This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: the principal's role in empowering the school committee at SMK Al-Asy'ari Komis uses a participatory approach, also involving alumni, guardians, committee administrators, and the Islamic boarding school in all stages of the program. Monthly forums are used for communication and collaborative problem-solving with community input, so that the program belongs to all parties involved. The principal's management of the school committee empowerment at SMK Al-Asy'ari Komis is aspirational, but direct communication remains a barrier. The principal of SMK Al-Asy'ari Komis in empowering the school committee is the lack of activity of children who live far from their parents. Limited control and communication make it difficult to achieve learning quality standards.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher's interest in the efforts to build student character implemented at MTsN 3 Pamekasan. As the modern era develops, many cases occur and befall teenagers and students who violate community norms or rules in the environment and at Madrasah and this can be disturbing for parents, teachers, and the community. And it is necessary for the process or program to build student character so that more or less children can anticipate and even minimize actions that violate these rules and norms. In this case, character education needs to be applied to students, so that the character can contribute greatly in realizing the full potential and ideals of a person in building a good and beneficial life for themselves and others. Methodologically, this research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological type of research. The data collection techniques for this research include: observation, interviews and documentation through media, archival records. Test the validity of the data through careful re-checking and extending the research time, perseverance, observation, triangulation. The results of this study indicate that: First; the habit of exemplary behavior carried out in madrasas such as shaking hands with teachers of the same sex, reciting the Koran and praying together before the teaching and learning process begins, congregational prayers in each class alternately, the implementation of the SKIM book (Syarat Kecakapan Ibadah Mahdhoh), the Sakusiswa book as a form of student discipline and Friday afternoon preaching. Second; the results of the formation of good and excellent student character can be seen from the student achievements obtained and changes in student behavior and good deeds as well. Third; The supporting factors are providing role models, references, or student books, madrasa facilities and infrastructure and the community being a supporter of the formation of student character, complete facilities including fences if children are late coming to the madrasa, good cooperation between BK teachers, discipline enforcers, and the sincerity of teachers to educate and improve student behavior, and the holding of extracurricular activities such as scouts and pancake silat. The inhibiting factors in this study were caused by the community due to behavior carried out by the community such as falling into the realm of drugs, the limitations of the madrasa in reaching information, the very varied geographical location of students, the limitations of parents regarding the rules and regulations of the madrasa, and the lack of parental attention.

Abstract

Improving student achievement is an important indicator of school success, influenced by the principal’s leadership. This study aims to describe the principal’s managerial strategies to improve student achievement at SMAS Islam Hidayatut Thullab Robatal Sampang and examine their effectiveness. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study method. Data were collected through interviews with the principal, vice principal for curriculum, teachers, and high-achieving students, as well as observation and documentation. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman’s model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that the principal implemented four main strategies: (1) data-based academic planning; (2) strengthening instructional supervision; (3) improving learning facilities; and (4) providing motivation and recognition for high-achieving students. These strategies proved effective in improving learning outcomes, motivating students, and fostering a positive competitive culture in the school.

Abstract

One of the skills desired by students is speaking skills in Arabic. In 2023, MIS Tanwirul Islama II Sampang students' Arabic speaking skills were quite low, because when learning Arabic, especially speaking skills, teachers did not use interesting and effective models, media, and strategies, so that students when learning Arabic were less interested in speaking Arabic. This year, MIS Tanwirul Islam II teachers tried to use an Arabic learning model that attracted students' interest in speaking Arabic by using the Cooperative Learning learning model. The type of research is a qualitative case study approach. In this study, data collection was also carried out by means of observation, interviews with the principal, teachers, and students of the madrasah, as well as conducting documentation at the MIS Tanwirul Islam II madrasah. The results of this study, with the implementation of the cooperative learning model, students learned to speak Arabic in groups so that there was an increase in speaking skills, this was proven by the enthusiasm of students when taking lessons, in addition, students' Arabic speaking skills were also getting better compared to previous years.

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam penggunaan media dapat membantu memperbesar kemungkinan siswa untuk tertarik belajar lebih banyak.salah satu media telah digunakan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siwa ialah komik Digital. Media dengan tampilan visual seperti komik, dapat mebantu siswa mengimajinasikan informasi yang terdapat dalam komik. Tentunya komik elektronik ini sangat cocok apabila digunakan pada mata pelajaran dengan karakteristik memiliki materi yang banyak. Seperti Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam yang memiliki materi yang banyak, sehingga dengan media guru dapat lebih mudah untuk menjaga dan meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Kebudyaan Islam. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MI sabilul Muttaqien Pamekasan dengan mengaunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif jenis deskriptif. Data penelititan didapat denga menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Kemudia data yang sudah didapat dalam bentuk kata-kata, catatan lapangan, mapuan dokumentasi dianalisis dengan cara kondensasi data. Selanjutnya ialah dengan penyajian data, dan penarikan data. Adapun keabsahan data digunakan dengan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media komik elektronik dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada mapel Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam ialah materi SKI yang cukup efektif, serta media komik ini mudah dibuat, dan mampu menarik perhatian siswa. Startegi yang digunakan dalam menerapkan media ini, dengan model role play, diskusi, dan tanya jawab. Hasil penggunaan media komik elektronik dalam meningkatkan minat belajara siswa terlihat pada respon dan antusias siswa saat megikuti pembelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan islam.

Abstract

In the era of Society 5.0, digital transformation has significantly changed the landscape of education. Amidst the rapid flow of information and technological complexity, literacy has become the key to facing future challenges. The implementation of GLS at Nurul Falah Islamic Junior High School was carried out in stages. This was considered in accordance with the conditions and readiness of the school. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, which is an activity carried out to solve a problem by providing an overview of the problem or information. The data collection methods used were interviews, observation, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique, as proposed by Miles and Huberman, included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. In general, literacy can be defined as an individual's ability to process and understand information when reading or writing. Rapid technological developments have brought humanity into a new era known as Society 5.0, a concept of society that integrates advanced technology into all aspects of life. Digital transformation in the Society 5.0 era requires an increase in the literacy of students at Nurul Falah Islamic Junior High School to face the challenges of technological and information complexity. Although literacy in Indonesia is still relatively low, through the School Literacy Movement (GLS) and the involvement of Community Service Lecture (KPM) students, the school has succeeded in fostering students' interest in reading and increasing awareness of the importance of digital literacy.

Abstract

In Arabic, vocabulary is one of the elements of Arabic, vocabulary is a very important element of Arabic so that students can understand the next Arabic language materials, and in learning vocabulary, appropriate methods are also needed, among the methods that are appropriate for vocabulary learning is the demonstration method. In understanding vocabulary, students at MIS Tanwirul Islam II are very lacking, because when teachers teach using less effective methods and students become bored. This research approach uses a qualitative approach with a case study type, in data collection, researchers use observation, interviews, documentation and data analysis. The results of this study are that the implementation of the demonstration method in learning Arabic vocabulary at MIS Tanwirul Islam II is very effective with students being more enthusiastic and more enthusiastic in participating in vocabulary learning. And the supporting factors that influence students in implementing the demonstration method include high student interest and the existence of effective learning media such as image media and others, and inhibiting factors, namely the lack of teacher understanding of the material.

Abstract

In facing the challenges of 21st-century education, a competency-based curriculum is an important approach to producing graduates who not only excel academically but also possess critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative thinking skills. Sabilillah Senior High School, Sampang, responds to this demand through the Champion Class Program, a flagship program aimed at fostering high-achieving students in both academic and non-academic fields. This program uses a more intensive, competitive learning model, and is oriented towards holistic competency achievement. This study aims to answer two main questions: First, how is the implementation of the competency-based curriculum in the Champion Class Program at Sabilillah Senior High School, Sampang? Second, what are the challenges of implementing this curriculum on student academic and non-academic achievement? This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants consisted of the principal, vice principal for curriculum, Champion Class mentor teachers, and students participating in the program. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques, as well as in-depth observation. The results of the study indicate that: First, the implementation of the competency-based curriculum was carried out in stages and systematically, starting with the joint planning stage between the principal, the vice-curriculum director, and senior teachers, developing a learning roadmap, and continuing with regular implementation and evaluation. Learning in the Champion Class is designed to be project- and competition-based, with an emphasis on critical thinking skills, collaboration, leadership, and strengthening Islamic character. Second, challenges faced in implementing this program include: limited supporting facilities and infrastructure, varying levels of teacher understanding of the competency-based curriculum concept, and resistance from some parents and students to the new system. Despite this, the Champion Class has proven successful in achieving success in various competitions at the district and national levels, such as science olympiads and English competitions. Strong school management support, intensive teacher training, and the involvement of mentors are key to the program's success.

Abstract

National education in Indonesia faces internal and external challenges that require relevance to the needs of the world of work and technological development. This research aims to analyze the concept of Link and Match in Islamic education as a strategy to produce graduates who are skilled, work-ready, and faithful. The method used is literature review by analyzing various theoretical sources related to Link and Match, Islamic education, and its relevance to changes in times. The results show that the concept of Link and Match in Islamic education is a relevant and flexible strategy to overcome the gap between educational output and modern job market needs. This concept emphasizes the linkage and alignment between education and development in accordance with Islamic teachings, which have been taught since ancient times in the Qur'an and Hadith of the Prophet. The application of Link and Match can be implemented through school-workplace partnerships, curriculum innovation, development of skills-based extracurricular activities, and enhanced work ethic among all stakeholders. The implications of this research show that serious implementation of the Link and Match concept can shape young generations capable of competing in the global era while maintaining Islamic values.

Abstract

This research examines the paradox between the ideal concept of Ulil Albab in the Qur'an and the reality of Islamic educational practices in Madura, which tend to be dogmatic. The Qur'an consistently glorifies the profile of Ulil Albab as individuals capable of integrating dhikr (spiritual depth) and fikr (intellectual acuity). However, the dominant educational model, particularly within traditional salaf pesantren, often prioritizes obedience and memorization over critical reasoning, potentially hindering the emergence of a generation with these characteristics. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research method to analyze this issue. The findings indicate that the revitalization of the Ulil Albab concept through Abdullah Saeed's contextual interpretation (tafsir) can serve as a philosophical foundation for educational reform. Furthermore, this article proposes the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model as a pedagogical framework to translate the values of Ulil Albab into learning practices at the elementary level. In conclusion, the synergy between contextual interpretation as a methodology for meaning-making and CTL as a learning strategy can create an educational ecosystem that fosters critical reasoning, creativity, and spiritual awareness in a balanced manner, offering a solution to move beyond dogmatism towards enlightenment.
