Abstract

This research aims to compare the effectivity of therapy for dyslexia syndrome. Recent research shows that Android-app based therapy is more effective to increase reading ability in children with dyslexia than other, named verbal therapy. Quasy experimental with randomized control group pre and posttest design is used. 20 children with dyslexia are included as research participant and divided into two groups, control-group and experiment-group. Reading ability test is used as measurement tool. Data analyzed with Mann-Whitney U test. Data analysis result shows that android-app based therapy is more effective to elevate reading ability in children with dyslexia.

Abstract

College students are those people who educate themselves in university, that makes them have more knowledge than other students. But unfortunately, the more knowledge they have, the more they like to brag about themselves. Many people with higher education degree tend to brag about themselves to others in order to get appreciation, acknowledgement and respect. Those behaviors are against Islamic value that teaches us to be humble to others. This humility is called tawadhu’ in Islam. The purpose of this research is to find out the effect of religiousity and emotional intelligence to tawadhu’ in post-graduate students of UII. The subject of this research are 117 post-graduate students of UII. Based on double-regression in SPSS version 16, there is a correlation between religiousity and emotional intelligence to tawadhu’ with signification value of 0,000 (p<0,05) and F score of 14,294.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the correlation between the readiness of students to enter elementary school with problem solving ability, as well as to describe the problem solving ability and the school readiness of students. The respondents involved in this study were 87 kindergarten students (TK-B). Sample determination was done by using saturated sampling technique. Data collection was done by administering two instruments, namely NST and WPPSI. NST is used to measure students 'readiness and WPPSI is used to measure students' problem solving ability. Data analyzed using Product-Moment correlation with correlation coefficient value (rxy) of 0.432 and significance level (p) of 0.000. The results showed that the problem solving ability has a significant relationship with the readiness of students in kindergarten level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of a sense of community in the administrative employees at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo. Subjects in this study were employees of the administration in UMSIDA, amounting to 51 person, with the technique of determining the sample using saturated sampling. The data collection tool uses a sense of community scale by adapting 24 items of Sense of Community Index Version Two (SCI-2) which refers to the sense of community theory proposed by McMillan and Chavis. Data analysis techniques in this study using descriptive statistical techniques. The results of data analysis show that the sense of community in the administrative staff at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo generally are in the medium category. Whereas if viewed from the existing dimensions, shared emotional connection dimension get the highest score compared with other dimensions.

Abstract

The Social Welfare Issuer (PMKS) is a person or family who, because of an obstacle, difficulty or disruption, can not carry out their social functions and therefore can not establish a harmonious and creative relationship with their environment so that they can not fulfill their (physical, spiritual and social) needs adequate and reasonable (Thamrin, Masril & Sembiring, 2016). This research has a point to find out how an illustration the depth to live happily and prosperous people the scavengers. A method is executed by qualitative narrative, by interview depth and observation. Researchers had conducted interviews with two subjects that work as scavengers. Results in getting is the depth to live happily of both the subject of very simple with the fulfill of needs and there is also social security for them. They could only fulfill their needs by gathering used goods erratic the amounts of each day and it becomes happiness its own for both subject. However in fact what happens is that social services agency and the central administration has not given a guarantee or assistance which could be used by both subject. Researchers advice for governments is to give the assurance that it is set in accordance with law social welfare, so that the scavengers can receive their rights .

Abstract

Work motivation in the organization has a close relationship with the willingness to complete the work properly. Such will is a form of encouragement that creates a passion for work. Positive work spirit is a useful factor in improving the ability to work. This research was conducted on member of Traffic Unit at Police of Sidoarjo with number of subjects of this study was 89 people. All subjects have long worked in the Traffic Police Sidoarjo unit at least 1 year with the rank of Bripda up to Aiptu. There is significant relation between organization culture and work statisfication with work motivation F = 38,691; p = 0,000) on member of traffic unit at police of Sidoarjo.

Abstract

Aggression is a behavior that is intentionally to hurt,threaten, or endanger others or another object physically or verbal and direct or indirect. Aggression is a common characteristic that can’t be erase from human life, especially police. All police has it own aggression, but the capacity is different with others police depend on self control and work stress they have. The research purpose’s to know correlation of self control (X1) and work stress (X2) with police aggression (Y). It subject is sergeant policeman in Sidoarjo. Subject amount 120 Police. The sampel taken by purposive sampling method. Statistical analysis method that be used is regression and using SPSS 22.00 for windows. the first result is there is correlation between self control, work stress and Police aggression.the second result is there is correlation negatively between self control and aggression. The third result is there is correlation positively between work stress and aggression.

Abstract

This research is a correlational quantitative method that is motivated by phenomena that seek to undiscipline in school environment. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between parents with discipline students in MTs Nurul Huda Sedati. Variables in this research is Parent attachment as independent variable (X) and Discipline as independent variable (Y). This research was conducted in MTs Nurul Huda Sedati covering class VII-IX with total sample of 221 students, taken using proporsionate stratified random sampling technique. Data collection in this research using psychological model that is Likert, that is IPPA scale (parent attachment) and disciplinary scale. Hypothesis in this research is there is positive relation between parent attachment with student discipline. Data analysis was done by statistical technique from Product Moment from Pearson using SPSS 18.0 for windows. The result of data analysis show open coefficient (rxy) = 0,285 with significance level 0.000 (less than 0,01) accepted hypothesis. The results showed there was a positive relationship between parents with discipline students in MTs Nurul Huda Sedati.

Abstract

There is a different group of people with certain sexual orientations inside a community. Sexual orientation is divided into three namely heterosexual, bisexual, and homosexual. In this study, which trying to lift the topic of the dynamics of gay sexual orientation. Gay is a sexual inclination which men are intereted into fellow men. There is one thing that is most important in the dynamics of gay orientation, it is called the formation of sexual orientation identity. The purpose of this study is to know the full picture of the dynamics of sexual orientation on gays. This research uses qualitative research method with the design of case study about the life history type. Three Respondents are involved in this study, 1 person as the main respondent and 2 people as significant others. The results of this study indicate that there were several causes until the respondent becomes gay, when he was a 6 grader, he imitated the blue film he watched, then disappointed because he was betrayed by his female partner, and because of the environment that encouraged him to go deeper into the gay world.

Abstract

This case study describes an interview on the risk of suicide to a homeless woman in a social lodge in Surabaya, referred to as YS, which shows the symptoms of suicidal tendencies. The interview assessment used is a structured interview guide from the NSW department of health (2010) about the risk of suicide in individuals. The results of the suicidal risk assessment interview on the subject of YS ie the subject has ever thought about committing suicide. The originator is related to the problem in the sticky figure, namely the family. Other triggers include neglect from close relatives, until finally the subject is entrusted to Liponsos. The subject explained that he had tried to kill himself and hurt himself in the early months of 2017. The subject had tried to wash his hands until his hands were bleeding. The subject also stabbed himself using a pin even today. The subject considered death a scary thing, but on the other hand the subject also felt awry. The subject claimed that he already had a plan to end his life, but he was confused because it was impossible to end his life in Liponsos, even though he thought that in Liponsos there were also residents who died. The dynamics of YS suicidal risk trends will be explained in this case study report.
