Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyse and develop design a heat exchanger (HE) for the production of Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) which will be compiled into a computational program for the design of shell-tube type HE. Methodology: The problem with this HE is that the temperature of 2-butanol is 30?C from the storage tank. While the HE reactor requires a temperature of 99.6?C, HE plays a role in increasing the temperature from 30?C to 99.6?C. To be more energy efficient, researchers used heat of the product, MEK. Which is where to exchange heat from the product to the reactants. The design of a shell-tube two-pass exchanger with a working fluid in the form of 2-butanol as a hot fluid with water as a cold fluid. Results: Thus, HE with shell and tube doesn’t meet the requirements and standards of TEMA. Although the shell and tube type of HE doesn’t conform to the criteria and standards specified in industrial applications, the analysis can be used as a learning tool for the design process, heme performance analysis, and operating mechanism of the HE. Limitations: This research is focused on developing HE designs for the production of MEK. Contribution: This research can provide a reference for designing HE in industrial development. Conclusion: The designed shell-and-tube heat exchanger shows limited efficiency and does not comply with TEMA industrial standards. However, the study provides valuable insights into the design methodology and serves as a foundation for further optimization of heat exchanger systems to enhance performance, efficiency, and industrial applicability.

Abstract

Purpose: This activity aims to empower the community in addressing three major issues in Romadhon Village, Sungaiselan District, namely stunting among toddlers, improper parenting patterns, and juvenile delinquency. The program focuses on increasing community awareness and participation through educational and participatory approaches. Methodology/approach: The activities were carried out through lectures, counseling sessions, field observations, focus group discussions (FGDs), and direct assistance. Data were collected using questionnaires and observations related to family conditions, parenting patterns, and adolescent behavior. Results/findings: The results showed an improvement in community understanding of the importance of proper parenting in preventing stunting. The counseling program and provision of supplementary feeding (PMT) to ten stunted children increased family nutritional awareness. Parenting education for mothers and socialization on juvenile delinquency through lectures on the dangers of drugs and the installation of anti-smoking banners encouraged active youth participation in the village. Conclusions: This community empowerment program effectively enhanced family health awareness, improved parenting practices, and reduced juvenile delinquency behavior. The synergy between students, village authorities, and the community was a key factor in the program’s success. Limitations: The short implementation period limited the measurement of long-term impacts on behavioral change within the community. Contribution: This activity can serve as a model of education- and participation-based community empowerment to improve public health in rural areas.

Abstract

Purpose: Knowing the health conditions and helping the community in efforts to improve optimal health levels in Sungaiselan Village, Sungaiselan District, Central Bangka Regency. Methodogoly/approach: The methods used are in the form of health education and active participation, namely the target group participates in the activities. This activity was carried out to identify health problems in Sungaiselan Village using the Delbecq method and a survey method with a sample of 95 people. Results/findings: Based on the results of the Delbecq method and the survey method conducted in Sungaiselan Village by identifying three priority health problems, the results obtained were a lack of temporary waste disposal sites (TPS), a high number of stunting cases, and a high number of dengue fever cases. Conclusions: The work program that has been implemented includes the construction of a pilot Temporary Waste Disposal Site (TPS) for organic and inorganic waste, a PMT cooking demonstration of moringa leaf chicken nuggets, socialization on stunting, waste, and dengue fever, as well as community service activities such as Posyandu and mutual cooperation. Limitations: This community service activity has time limitations. Contribution: The community is expected to be able to increase their awareness in improving their health status and the government needs to facilitate the needs required by the community in improving the health status of the community, especially in Sungaiselan Village.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explore the potential of local culinary products in Penatih Dangin Puri Village, Denpasar, and to develop strategies for implementing environmentally friendly packaging (eco-packaging) as a means to strengthen sustainable village-based economic development. Methodology/approach: The study was conducted in Penatih Dangin Puri Village, Denpasar, through a community service program involving local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary sector. A participatory qualitative approach was applied, including focus group discussions, direct observation, and thematic analysis. Activities consisted of socialization sessions, culinary innovation training using local ingredients, introduction to eco-packaging technologies, branding and digital marketing workshops, and product showcase events. Results/findings: The program identified high-potential culinary products based on red rice, coconut, and traditional spices with strong cultural and economic value. The application of eco-packaging improved product aesthetics, market competitiveness, and environmental awareness among business owners. Collaborative networks between MSMEs, village authorities, and creative communities were established, creating a foundation for sustainable economic ecosystems. Conclusions: The study shows eco-packaging and local culinary integration enhance sustainability, community empowerment, and green entrepreneurship in rural development. Limitations: The study’s short duration limited evaluation of long-term impacts, including sustained eco-packaging adoption and continuous market performance measurement. Contribution: This study offers a replicable model for integrating local culinary heritage with eco-friendly entrepreneurship to support sustainable rural development.

Abstract

Purpose: This training aims to increase knowledge and understanding for MSME actors in learning simple bookkeeping for their business activities. Methodology/approach: The method of this community service activity is to deliver material using seminar methods and limited discussions related to accounting material. Result/findings: Based on the results of a face-to-face survey of MSMEs, the spread of COVID-19 has had a direct impact on the decline in their economic income. Several policies require everyone to maintain social distancing, children are on school holidays, and even home lockdowns. This has undoubtedly impacted the sales of some MSMEs, especially those selling daily necessities. Inventory of merchandise is also damaged and cannot be resold because it has expired. Conclusions: 1) Bookkeeping systems, accounting cycles, and financial reports. 2) Partners are unable to prepare bookkeeping documents and record them in detail and neatly according to the accounting cycle. 3) Partners are unable to calculate profits in preparing financial reports according to the accounting cycle. 4) Marketing. Business actors lack understanding in selecting and determining market segments and market needs in their surrounding environment. Limitations: This research only focuses on training related to simple bookkeeping of financial reports for MSME actors, other factors such as financial management, promotion, and others are not discussed further in this research. Contributions: It is hoped that this training will enhance MSMEs' knowledge of financial reporting and increase their confidence in interacting with third parties, such as lending institutions and investors. It will also encourage investors to invest in this sector.

Purpose: This community service activity aims to implement website credibility principles in digital content optimization for SMK Pelita Alam (Pelita Alam Vocational High School). Methodology/approach: The method used was Community-Based Participatory Action Research (CBPAR) involving 11 participants consisting of the principal, teachers, administrative staff, and IT coordinator. Evaluation was conducted using a Website Credibility Checklist that includes 10 credibility aspects with 80 indicators. Results/findings: The evaluation results showed an overall credibility score of 52% (moderate category), with the security & privacy aspect achieving the highest score (88%) and the achievements & accomplishments aspect the lowest (25%). Three main improvement priorities identified were: human resource credibility (38%), achievements and accomplishments (25%), and current content & quality assurance (38%). Conclusions: This activity successfully increased the website management team's understanding of the importance of digital credibility and provided a systematic improvement roadmap to enhance the image and public trust toward the vocational education institution. Limitations: The evaluation was limited to internal stakeholder perspectives and did not include user feedback from external audiences such as students or parents. Contribution: This program contributes a replicable model for evaluating and improving digital credibility within educational institutions, combining participatory methods and measurable website indicators.
