Abstract

Unemployment has significant economic and social impacts, especially educated unemployment. The increase in the number of educated unemployed is a major problem. As of February 2022, BPS RI data indicates 8.4 million people or 5.83% of the workforce are unemployed. Educated unemployment, such as High School, Diploma, and Bachelor graduates, has the potential to support economic growth which is unfortunate if it is not handled properly. As of February 2022, according to data from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics, the total number of educated unemployed in Indonesia has reached 62.4% of the total number of unemployed in Indonesia. The projection of the demographic bonus in Indonesia, Cipta Kerja Law which has the aim of overcoming employment problems by supporting foreign investment and creating jobs through ease of licensing and the fluaction of employment rates which are influenced by economic growth is the background of this research. This study analyzes the effect of foreign investment (FDI), employment rates, and total population on educated unemployment in Indonesia. The method used is the quantitative method and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 25. The results show that the employment rates and population have significant effect on educated unemployment while foreign investment (FDI) does not have significant effect in this study. Encouraging the quality of foreign investment remains an important role. The government should prioritize policies that support investment in potential sectors to create jobs for educated graduates. Managing population growth is also important in order to prevent increases in educated unemployment.

Abstract

Work engagement is one of the things that is necessary for the progress of the organization. Employees who are involved in their work will have the motivation to consistently contribute. Previous research has shown that there is a driving force needed so that employees are willing to mobilize their resources to achieve organizational goals. One of the predictors that can affect engagement is employee well-being. Employees who have experienced prosperity will be willing to return the favor by showing dedication. In addition to well-being, the existence of support from the organization has the potential to moderate work engagement. Various forms of positive support given will make employees more enthusiastic at work. Based on this, this study aims to examine the role of the variable perceived organizational support (POS) in strengthening the effect of well-being on work engagement. Social exchange theory is used to help understand the interrelationships between variables. The research was conducted on employees in the food industry in Indonesia. Variable indicators adapted from previous studies. All the indicators used are reflexive. The primary data that has been obtained is tested using the SmartPLS software. The results of the study show that well-being and POS affect work engagement. The effect of well-being on work engagement is moderated by POS.

Abstract

This paper examines the economic impacts of climate change on agriculture in Bhutan. It focuses on the significance of the agriculture sector in Bhutan and analyzes the economic effects of climate change using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The dependent variable used in the ARDL model is agriculture GDP, while the independent variables are temperature and rainfall. The ARDL model is employed to assess the short-run and long-run economic impacts of climate change on agriculture. The results of the study indicate that the agriculture sector has consistently contributed the highest GDP from 2009 to 2020 in Bhutan. Additionally, it has provided the most significant employment opportunities compared to other sectors between 2009 and 2019. The ARDL model results demonstrate that in the short run, the coefficient for temperature is positive at 0.16, and the coefficient for rainfall is 0.5, indicating that climate change has a positive impact on agriculture GDP. However, in the long run, the ARDL model reveals a negative impact of climate change on agriculture GDP. The coefficient for temperature is -11.2, and for rainfall, it is -1.13. These findings underscore the urgent need for measures to address the challenges posed by climate change. The paper recommends raising awareness about climate-smart initiatives and programs among stakeholders. Additionally, training and the adoption of climate-resilient seeds and techniques are necessary to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on the agriculture sector.

Subjectively, the Boti people are very happy with the socio-economic conditions of life as measured by the dimensions of feeling, the dimensions of satisfaction and the dimensions of the meaning of life. Happy in carrying out all activities. Forms of social violations in people's lives and other violations that have a legal impact are not found in interactions and are unlawful. Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), as a source of external capital to enhance growth, has become extremely important in light of the decreases in official lending, brings its infusion of a corporate culture that changes the way business is done, brings managerial know-how and best practices, provide access to international markets, transfer technology and innovation, introduce competitive pressures in previously closed markets and becoming the principal driver for the growth of local business. Given those critical issues, it is very crucial to understand the determinants of FDI, which can be used by the country to regulate and be assured of sustainable growth and development. With this regard this study investigated the determinants of FDI in Tanzania, using secondary time series data from 1990 to 2020. In attempting this, the study utilized the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) in combination with the Error Correction Model (ECM) and bounds testing procedure. The results indicate that in the long run, the coefficients of gross capital formation, exchange rate, and financial structure are statistically insignificant with the required direction of relationship with the exception of real GDP, trade openness, and inflation rate while in the short-run the results have shown the opposite of the results in the long-run. The results above indicate a great need for a country to emphasize domestic investment as this has shown a positive impact in attracting foreign direct investment in the short-run, with higher real GDP implying a large market thus suitable for market-seeking investments and also does promote export. The country needs to strengthen its monetary policy to ensure a stable exchange rate and price as it has shown a converse relationship with foreign direction investment thus attracting more market-seeking investments.
