Abstract

In the case of gas transmission, the calculation of the gas delivered and the gas currently in the pipe is of course required to be a safe amount in the sense of neither less nor more. A condition where the amount of gas is less than the minimum value of the pipe capacity can cause damage to the pipe because the pressure is below the normal point. Meanwhile, conditions where the gas in the pipe exceeds the maximum capacity value is also very dangerous because it can cause accidents such as pipe leaks and explosions. Therefore, this research was carried out to determine the value of forecasting gas demand by PT PGN to be able to find out the range of gas volumes that must be stored and then distributed by Pertamina Gas to meet PT PGN's demand. Forecasting is a technique of predicting the influence of prevailing conditions and situations on future developments. The method generally used in forecasting is the quantitative method using the time series method.

Abstract

PT X is a company engaged in house building materials and in the process of production activities produces B3 waste. The company is located in Tamanharjo Village, Malang Regency, East Java. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the B3 Waste Temporary Storage Site (TPS) owned by PT X. Evaluation activities are carried out by looking at the existing conditions of the TPS and adjusted to the regulations of PP No. 22 of 2021 and PermenLHK No. 6 of 2021. Judging from the existing conditions, the TPS does not have a logo or partition that is in accordance with the applicable regulations. The evaluation results show that the B3 Waste Temporary Storage Site (TPS) owned by PT X is not in accordance with applicable regulations so that re-design activities need to be carried out.

Abstract

One of the important aspects in mining activities is the drainage system. A good drainage system can prevent flooding, erosion, landslides, and water pollution caused by mining. The drainage system applied in the clay mining site consists of making drainage channels at the bottom of the mining benches. This is intended to capture the mine runoff water. The mine floor is sloped towards the drainage channel. Data collection is carried out, which includes data on location, area, and slope of the mining area, rainfall, runoff coefficient, and then calculations are performed using the Manning equation to obtain the channel dimensions. The planned open channel dimensions have a channel base width = 0.908 m, flow depth = 0.79 m, wet cross-sectional area = 1.07 m, wet perimeter = 1.943 m, hydraulic radius = 0.39 m, water surface width = 1.824 m, and freeboard = 0.197 m. The construction of the drainage channel is intended so that the water on the mine floor can flow directly to the drainage channel, thus not disturbing the mining activities

Abstract

Domestic waste produced by one of the chicken cutting industries, PT X, in the Jombang region, East Java, has not been properly treated. Domestic waste, commonly known as greywater, is wastewater originating from kitchen activities, toilets, sinks, and so on, carried out by the workers. If this wastewater is directly discharged into the environment without prior treatment, it can cause pollution and have adverse effects on aquatic life. One of the efforts to manage PT X's domestic waste is by using the Anaerobic Baffle Reactor (ABR) unit. The selection of the ABR unit is based on the treatment system at PT X's wastewater treatment plant (IPAL). In this IPAL, there is a sedimentation process and degradation of organic material by anaerobic bacteria, which can minimize the land use for domestic wastewater treatment. The aim of this research is to determine the efficiency in reducing parameters present in PT X's domestic wastewater, namely COD, BOD, and TSS. This study is expected to provide an alternative for treating domestic waste at PT X so that the discharged waste does not pollute the surrounding factory environment.

Abstract

The industrial activities of chicken slaughterhouse and meat processing by PT X generate waste that needs to be treated through a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) during the operational processes. However, the WWTP of PT X indicates a need for improvement in wastewater treatment performance to optimize the reduction of pollutant parameters in the wastewater generated by PT X’s industrial operations. The performance evaluation of PT X’s WWTP is conducted by examining technical aspects, ensuring that the WWTP can operate optimally, and the effluent wastewater meets the standard quality requirements. Therefore, the quality of the effluent can be assured to protect the sustainability of natural resources in the surrounding area, especially the water resources in the vicinity of PT X’s industrial activities. Based on the technical analysis results, the optimization of treatment standards at PT X’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is planned by adding an Biofilter Aeration unit to ensure that the quality of the generated waste meets the standards.

Abstract

Waste reduction efforts need to be made to reduce the burden of landfill in processing waste. The absence of a study on the potential for reducing domestic waste at PT X is an obstacle for the company to determine the right waste management scenario. PT X's waste management still adheres to the collection, transportation, and disposal system.  The test of this study is to analyze the potential waste reduction that can be done by PT X. This study was carried out by collecting waste transportation data and waste composition data obtained through the SNI 19-3964-1995 method. Waste transportation data will be reduced by waste composition data that has the potential to be used for kembai. The average waste transported to landfill is 6480 kg / month with the composition of waste dominated by 26.09% of food waste and plastic waste. Total waste that can be reduced by 52.07% by managing organic waste into compost and collecting and selling waste that still has a selling value. By carrying out this management, the average waste disposal of PT X can be reduced to 3374 kg / month.

Abstract

Domestic wastewater can be sourced from industrial activities, one of which is the Feedmill Industry. The Surabaya Feedmill Industry has been treating domestic wastewater using a WWTP. The management of domestic wastewater is based on the Technical Approval (PERTEK) of Wastewater Utilization for Application to Land. Based on the results, there are parameters that do not fulfill the quality standards. The parameter is Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), an evaluation is needed to enhanced WWTP performance. The purpose of this research is calculating the percent removal of BOD, COD and TSS parameters in the biological treatment unit and identifying factors that can affect the removal of BOD parameters in the existing conditions of the biological treatment unit in the Surabaya Feedmill Industry. The method used is a literature study using the Ludwig Sasse equation. In the calculation of the average water discharge of 5.93 m³/day, only 29.6% of the planned discharge. The results of the calculation of HRT in biological unit processing have not met the design criteria, except for the aerobic biofilter. The BOD/COD ratio is 0.33. According to the existing calculation, the final result for the BOD parameter is 5.11 mg/L, COD is 24.38 mg/L and TSS is 37.33 mg/L. The design air requirement is 27.64 m³/day. Other factors that affect BOD removal are Dissolved Oxygen (DO) levels in the Aerobic Biofilter, nutrient requirements, and Food to Microorganism (F/M).

Abstract

Personality is the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual’s distinctive character. Every individual on earth has different personalities depending on their biological and environmental factors. To find out about one’s personality, we can take a personality test which is a tool or method used to assess human personality. One of the most popular approaches to personality nowadays is the Big Five theory of personality, where this theory suggests that human personality is composed of five basic traits: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extroversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism. While doing research, we found how some people tend not to have knowledge about their personality types. Therefore, we started this research with the aim of determining the user's personality, strengths and weaknesses of their personality in order to help them develop and improve themselves. This research used the PCA method and K-Means algorithm to aid in the clustering process.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company that produces furniture products that use the "Make to stock" method to meet consumer demand. In the production process, there is often a buildup of raw materials, one of which is the minifix bolt component, which causes a buildup of raw materials in the warehouse. Therefore, it is necessary to forecast raw materials to predict the amount of raw materials each period. In the forecasting process, you can use the moving average and single ex-ponential smoothing methods. From the calculation results using the POM-QM software, the MAD (Mean Absolute Deviation) value was 13,111.11, MSE (Mean Squared Error) was 261,975,300, MAPE (Mean Absolute Percent Error) was 226,303%. From the software output results, it is known that the smallest MAD, MSE, and MAPE values ​​of the three methods are the moving average method. So this method was chosen to solve problems within the company because the smaller the error that occurs, the smaller the possibility of something bad happening.

Abstract

PT XYZ was established as a company engaged in packaging manufacturing, especially biscuit cans and paint cans. PT XYZ was established in 1977 and has grown to become one of the leading manufacturing companies in Indonesia. In the production process, there are often many rejected goods which causes a lot of waste to occur and a decrease in profits due to the large number of rejected products at PT XYZ. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out quality control to find out the meeting point that causes problems to occur every period. In the quality control process using RCA (Root Cause Analysis). From the results of quality control, it was found that the dominant cause of the large number of rejected goods that occurred, namely the type of rupture reject which had a percentage of 98%, so that there was a need for improvement in the production process of the PT XYZ company that occurred which caused the product to reject.
