Abstract

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a branch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that deals with the interaction between computers and humans through natural language. In general, NLP is applied in various applications, such as language translators, for example Google Translate, and chatbots. This study will discuss further about chatbots with a software development approach using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method. The dataset used in this study was obtained from the website of the State University of Medan (Unimed) and some additional information collected from third parties. Although the State University of Medan has implemented information technology, the response to questions received through the campus's online messaging service is still relatively slow, because until now these questions are still answered manually by the admin. The author and team pay attention to how a university provides information to students and prospective students regarding various questions about the campus and academic environment. Because problems were found in the information service system on the Unimed campus, the researcher provided an information service to solve this problem. This study resulted in an information service in the form of a chatbot for the State University of Medan, with an accuracy rate of around 70%. This chatbot is designed to operate through the Telegram messaging application, so it is expected to increase efficiency in responding to user questions.

Abstract

The quality of agricultural products, particularly coffee beans, is crucial in today's global market, which demands precise ripeness classification due to its high commercial value. Traditional manual methods in coffee plantations, heavily reliant on human labor to determine quality, often result in inefficiencies and inaccuracies. To address this issue, this study developed an automated coffee ripeness detection system using the YOLOv5 machine learning algorithm, combined with Raspberry Pi, webcam, and servo motor. By integrating YOLOv5, the system enables real-time classification of coffee beans into three categories: ripe, unripe, and rotten, with an average accuracy of 90% during real-time testing. This system not only reduces dependence on manual labor but also improves process efficiency across various environmental conditions. The findings suggest that the application of this technology can significantly enhance productivity in the coffee industry, while providing a foundation for further advancements in automation and classification methodologies in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

Choosing a major at the high school (SMA) level is an important decision that can influence a student's academic and career future. However, many students have difficulty choosing a major that suits their interests and talents. Therefore, this research aims to design and build an expert system that can help students choose the right major in Senior High School (SMA). This system uses the Forward Chaining method, which works by tracing facts from student data, such as subject grades, interests and talents, then matching them with predetermined rules to provide recommendations for the most suitabel major. The Forward Chaining method was chosen because of its ability to compile inferences progressively based on available facts, so that it can provide results that are more accurate and appropriate to the student's condition. This system was developed using a programming language and database that supports knowledge-based rules. The test results show that this expert system is able to provide recommendations that are appropriate to the majors taken by students, as well as increasing efficiency in the major selection process. With this system, it is hoped that it can help students, teachers and schools in a more objective and data-based decision making process.

Abstract

Increased consumer demand has an influence on production results. Pure chips SMEs have obstacles in meeting their needs for raw materials such as sweet potatoes and cooking oil. The main raw materials are obtained from sweet potato farmers and cooking oil producers. Accurate and maximum calculation of raw materials is needed so that SMEs do not have problems in facing shortages or excesses of main raw materials. This research aims to assist pure chips SMEs in managing the amount of inventory of core raw materials to be produced into snacks. Research on the production of sweet potato and cooking oil supplies was carried out using a quantitative descriptive approach. The data obtained comes from pure chips UKM. Then the data will be analyzed using the reorder point method. From the calculation results, it was found that pure chips SMEs had to re-order sweet potato raw materials of around 8 kilograms per day and 3 liters of cooking oil raw materials per day.

Abstract

Anomaly detection in electrical systems is crucial to prevent operational disruptions and equipment damage, especially in small industries such as handicraft companies. This study aims to develop an electrical anomaly detection model using Support Vector Machine (SVM) based on current, voltage, and temperature parameters. Data were collected in real-time using sensors installed at strategic points in the company's electrical network. Anomaly criteria were determined based on normal operating limits: current (8.2–10 A), voltage (198–242 V), and temperature (30–70°C). The SVM model was trained using a dataset classified into normal and anomalous conditions. Model evaluation was conducted using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics to assess the anomaly detection performance. Model evaluation was performed using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics to assess the accuracy of anomaly detection. The results showed that the SVM model was able to identify anomalies with high accuracy, namely with an Accuracy value of 96.5%. Precision of 94.8% and Recall of 92.3%.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of voltage on the current in an electrical circuit based on Ohm's Law using a PHET simulation. The objective of this research is to understand the relationship between voltage and current when applied to circuits with fixed resistors. The experiment was conducted using PHET simulation software, where voltage was varied from 1 to 9 volts, and current was measured across two resistors with values of 1kΩ and 500Ω. The results show a linear increase in current with increasing voltage, confirming Ohm's Law, where current is directly proportional to voltage and inversely proportional to resistance. The findings imply that simulations can effectively illustrate fundamental electrical principles, offering a practical learning tool for understanding circuit behavior. The study highlights the potential of virtual labs in providing interactive and engaging experiences for students and suggests further research in real-world settings to verify these findings.

Abstract

In general, making a plan must be based on data, where the data is obtained from survey results and test results. The Cisomang - Rajamandala road section is a section that is frequently traversed by overloaded vehicles so that it can damage the road pavement structure and the pavement structure used is flexible pavement. In a flexible pavement thickness planning, there are generally several methods used to calculate the thickness of a pavement. There is one method from Bina Marga, namely the 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual (MDPJ). Using this method will produce simple calculations with specific results such as in terms of surface layer thickness to the foundation layer in a road construction plan. This study aims to make planning for thick flexible pavement using the Bina Marga method (MDPJ 2017) on the Cisomang - Rajamandala road section with research points along 1 KM and the total length of the section is 43.43 KM. This research is a quantitative research using survey data and testing data. This study aims to make flexible pavement thickness planning using the Bina Marga method (MDPJ 2017) on the Cisomang - Rajamandala road section with research points along 1 KM and the overall length of the section is 43.43 km. This research is a quantitative research with survey data (LHRT) and test data. The results of calculations based on data and analysis carried out in this study indicate that planning the thickness of flexible pavement for the Cisomang - Rajamandala road section using the Bina Marga method (MDPJ 2017) along 1 KM, namely using a pavement structure of type FFF6 with the following details: Surface Layer (AC WC ): 4 CM, Layer (AC BC) : 6 CM, Layer (AC Base): 16 CM, Layer Foundation: 300 CM.

Abstract

Breast milk is nutrition for newborns, where exclusive breastfeeding will be given to babies until they are six months old. The hormone oxytocin can affect the production of breast milk. The release of the hormone oxytocin is carried out by a stimulation of the nipples through baby sucking or massage where breast massage is called breast message which can be done by a mother, or with the help of a special massage clinic to facilitate breastfeeding. The author created an Automatic Oxytocin Massage Vest to Accelerate Breast Milk Production in Breastfeeding Mothers. The strategy for implementing the vest tool can be used by the community, and knowing the level of usefulness of the tool. The next step will be knowing the effectiveness of the implementation of the vest using the "One Groups Pretest-Posttest Design" method, namely a research design that has a pretest before being given treatment and a posttest after being given treatment. Based on the results of the respondents and the analysis that has been carried out, it will be concluded that the hormone oxytocin is a hormone that has an important influence on the production of breast milk in nursing mothers, oxytocin massage tools are effective in increasing milk production in breastfeeding mothers, it is proven by 60% of the results of expressing breast milk from respondents more look at using an oxytocin massager. The reduced production after using the tool is influenced by several factors, including stress when using the tool and adding formula milk to babies during exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

The Substation is a sub-system or a unit of the electric power distribution (transmission) system. Distribution (transmission) is a sub-system of the electric power system. This means that the substation is a sub-sub-system of the electric power system. Therefore, one of the most important equipment in the substation is the current transformer (CT) which is a very important equipment in the substation, where this device is used to convert a large current value into a smaller current value for measurement and protection purposes. The Current Transformer must be in good condition in order to be able to transform the current accurately and thoroughly. The research method carried out in the form of literature studies is to find and collect various references from books and journals as well as previous research related to the research title that the author took, in addition to that the author takes and collects related data needed in the form of CT maintenance data at PT. PLN (Persero) ULTG Rangkasbitung then analyzed all the data that had been collected. The measurement of isolation resistance is carried out at the beginning of the test intended to find out the isolation conditions of the current transformer at an early stage and to avoid subsequent test failures. The test results of the isolation resistance of primary-ground CT in phase R are 130000 MΩ, which means that the CT is still in good condition. Meanwhile, the delta tan test on CT with R phase is 0.17%, which means that the ct is also still in good condition.
