Abstract

Diseases in catfish often become a significant problem in fish farming, which can cause major losses for farmers. To overcome this problem, a system is needed that can help diagnose diseases in catfish accurately and quickly. This research aims to develop a website-based expert system that uses the Case Based Reasoning (CBR) method to diagnose diseases in catfish. The CBR method allows the system to identify disease by comparing the symptoms experienced by catfish with data on previous cases that already exist in the knowledge base. This system consists of several main components, namely input data on catfish symptoms, case matching process, and presentation of disease diagnoses and solutions. System testing was carried out using symptom data collected from various cases of catfish disease that occurred in the field. The results of this research show that the CBR-based expert system is able to provide diagnoses that are appropriate to existing cases, and can be a useful tool for catfish farmers in detecting disease early and providing appropriate treatment. This system can be accessed online, making it easy for users to access information anytime and anywhere.

Abstract

A decision support system (DSS) is a tool that helps decision makers choose the optimal option based on predetermined standards. In human resource management, determining the eligibility of ASN (State Civil Servants) employees to receive pensions is crucial because it has an impact on worker welfare, career prospects, and state budget management. This study suggests the use of the Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) approach to build a decision support system for assessing the eligibility of ASN employee pensions. The MADM method is a decision-making process that produces the best choices by considering a number of criteria and options. Retirement age, length of service, work performance, health, and other variables related to the applicable pension policy are some of the criteria considered in this study to assess pension eligibility. The system methodology consists of a number of steps, including determining the criteria, assigning weights to each criterion, and assessing alternatives based on these criteria using computational methods such as TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Samelight to Ideal Solution) and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process). The evaluation findings will provide advice on employee eligibility for retirement or ability to continue working. By offering transparent and objective analysis, the developed technology is expected to direct the ASN employee retirement decision-making process and ensure that the decision-making is more accurate and in accordance with related regulations. Therefore, this approach can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of human resource management in government agencies.

Abstract

Simplifying the process of administering medical records and patient registration in hospitals is the goal of the web-based Patient Registration and Medical Record Information System at the Waibakul Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Central Sumba Regency. In the past, manual patient registration often resulted in long waiting times, inaccurate data entry, and difficulty in finding patient information. This web-based solution speeds up the process of searching for patient medical information, coordinating patient data management for hospital staff, and enabling online patient registration. This system is built using web technology that allows flexible access and works with a variety of devices, including PCs and smartphones. The main features developed are electronic medical record management, fast and accurate patient data search, recording of health history, and registration of new patients. In addition, this system has data that may help hospitals make better and more efficient decisions. The test results show that this system can reduce the possibility of data errors, speed up patient registration procedures and maintenance of medical records, and improve the quality of health services provided at RSUD Waibakul. Therefore, this information system is expected to facilitate the acquisition of health information by patients and medical personnel and help improve hospital administration.

Abstract

Waste is an unavoidable problem along with increasing population activity due to population growth, which causes the amount of waste to increase, especially from traditional markets, tourist areas, dense settlements, and public facilities. In Malang City, waste in 2023 is estimated to reach 778.34 tons, so proper and environmentally friendly management is needed, one of which is by processing organic waste into a homogeneous compost mixture using a mixing machine. This study aims to analyze the effect of double mixer speed and mixer time on the mixing machine on the homogeneity of organic waste in the composting process. The research method used is quantitative experimental with factorial experimental design (DOE) for the effect of double mixer speed and mixer time on the homogeneity of organic waste in the composting process. The double mixer speed variations tested were 20, 45, and 60 RPM, with mixing times of 20, 30, and 40 minutes. The results showed that the double mixer speed and stirring time had a significant effect on the homogeneity of organic waste in the composting process, with an optimal increase in homogeneity occurring at a speed of 60 RPM and a duration of 40 minutes. Higher speeds accelerate particle distribution, while sufficient mixing time ensures even distribution, thereby increasing the efficiency of microbial decomposition.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a type of inorganic waste that takes around 50-80 million years to decompose in the soil. Plastic waste contributes to 90% of the waste in the ocean, causing damage to coastal ecosystems and having implications for the degradation of coastal ecosystems. To overcome this, the Mayor of Bontang has prepared a legal product that regulates the use of plastic waste and one of the efforts the author has made to tackle plastic waste in Bontang City is to create a tool that can convert plastic waste into fuel oil. The aim of this research is to determine the process of utilizing plastic waste into fuel oil and to determine the volume of fuel oil produced from processing plastic waste. This research is experimental research using the pyrolysis method. The trial results of processing plastic waste into fuel oil show that: the technology that is practically used is using the slow pyrolysis method with simple tools, the use of plastic waste into fuel oil is very effective to implement. Meanwhile, the volume of fuel oil for 1.4 kg is 350 ml at a temperature of 225℃ with a residence time of 4 hours. However, if the temperature is increased to 400-600℃, it is likely that the oil produced will increase.

Abstract

The medium voltage distribution network system is an integral part of the process of transmitting electrical energy from the substation to consumers. This transfer aims to supply electricity for daily use by consumers and can also be applied in industrial environments. The importance of electricity in modern development makes it a critical element; if a power outage occurs, our activities will be disrupted. Therefore, protection is needed within the medium voltage distribution network system to safeguard against damage to the network infrastructure, which could lead to power outages. To reduce the occurrence of such issues, protective components have been developed to protect the medium voltage distribution network facilities, ensuring the safety of consumers from the 24kV medium voltage distribution system, which could be fatal in case of direct contact.

Abstract

The adverse impact of fossil fuel use on the environment has prompted various parties to look for alternative solutions that are more environmentally friendly. One potential renewable energy source is solar energy. Solar panels, which function to convert solar energy into electrical energy, are the top choice because of their abundant abundance, clean nature, and ability to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. However, the performance of solar panels is affected by several factors, one of which is azimuth. The azimuth angle determines the orientation of the solar panel on the horizontal plane. The proper azimuth orientation helps to improve the overall efficiency of solar energy collection. A non-optimal azimuth angle can reduce the intensity of light received by the panel surface, thereby lowering the electrical voltage and the generated electric current. In off-grid systems, which rely entirely on solar energy to meet electricity needs, proper azimuth arrangement becomes crucial to ensure light absorption efficiency. From the results of the experiment, it was found that the influence of azimuth on light intensity, voltage and current was greater in the North position with a position of 0 degrees where a light intensity of 92000 lux, a voltage of 20.01 V, and a current of 2.0 A were obtained, so it can be concluded that the cardinal direction and angle can affect the intensity of light, electrical voltage and electric current obtained.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Management System and the effectiveness of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System for Employees of the Facilities and Facilities Department of PT Industri Kapal Indonesia (Persero) Makassar. This study uses a qualitative approach method with several data collection techniques, namely interviews, semi-structural, observation, and documentation. In this study, informants were selected according to the research criteria consisting of 1 K3LH Manager, 1 Supervisor, 1 Foreman, and 4 Employees of the Facilities and Facilities Department. Data collection was carried out at PT Industri Kapal Indonesia (Persero) Makassar. The method used to analyze the data is the data triangulation technique consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions to ensure data reliability. The results of the study indicate that the implementation and level of effectiveness of the occupational health and safety management system are (a) determination of K3 policies with an average percentage of 78%; (b) K3 planning with an average percentage of 79%; (c) implementation of K3 plans with an average percentage of 80%; (d) monitoring and evaluation of K3 performance with an average percentage of 78%; (e) review and improvement of SMK3 performance with an average percentage of 78%, and (f) implementation of SMK3 with an average percentage of 75%. Based on this, the effectiveness of the occupational health and safety management system in reducing the number of work accidents for employees is quite good, as evidenced by efforts to achieve zero accidents.

Abstract

Competition in the manufacturing industry will encourage companies to make continuous improvements on the production floor, to maintain machine performance in order to minimize the breakdown value that occurs. As in the production process at PT XYZ felt a decrease in the performance of the lathe, the lathe that operated for 5 working hours sometimes, in the middle of the production process experienced downtime to breakdowns, as is known from February 24, 2024 to February 27, 2024, obstacles were faced during the production process where the machine experienced obstacles until it stopped completely and repeated for 3 consecutive days. Initial measurements have been made using Overall Equipment Effectivenes and Six Big Losses, which gave the result that the Availability value of the lathe reached 88.97%, the performance value was known to be at a percentage of 98.07%, while for Quality is at a percentage of 93.81%, and it is also known that the results of the Six Big Losses Analysis show that the factors that affect engine effectiveness are reduced speed losses, defect losses and breakdown losses. Therefore, improvements were made using the Total Productive Maintenance pillar, namely Autonomous Maintenance, which was developed using the 5S method which resulted in an increase in the availability value to 90.36%, performance to 87.57% and Quality to 99.02%.

Abstract

PT MaduBaru PG/PS, a sugarcane agro-industry owned by the Sultanate of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat, faces a significant challenge in reducing workplace accidents. From January to September 2024, the company recorded 15 incidents, highlighting the need for a thorough analysis of potential hazards in its sugarcane processing operations. This study employs the HIRARC method (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) to evaluate and address these risks. The hazards identified are categorized into low, medium, and high risks. Low-risk activities include kettle station work and rear factory cleaning tasks. Medium risks are found in kettle station cleaning, repair work, milling station operations, milling station cleaning, west DKS double work, and ash disposal site tasks. High-risk activities are primarily associated with Besali station operations. The main contributors to accidents are a lack of PPE usage, inadequate supervision, and non-compliance with SOPs, such as wearing non-standard footwear. The most dangerous incidents involve exposure to hot materials, which can be mitigated through the proper use of PPE. Enforcing SOP compliance and improving safety awareness are critical to reducing accidents. Strengthening safety measures and ensuring regular monitoring can help create a safer working environment at PT MaduBaru PG/PS.
