Abstract

The library at Muhammadiyah 8 Middle School, Bandung, has not been followed by high interest in reading among students. This study aims to analyze condition of library collections, analyzing the level of students' interest in reading, and analyzing the magnitude of the influence of library collections on participants' reading interest students at Muhammadiyah 8 Junior High School, Bandung. The research used a descriptive approach. quantitative with a causal descriptive design. Data were collected through a questionnaire Likert scale, observation, and documentation of 75 students in grades 7 and 8 selected using proportional random sampling technique from a population of 300 students, then analyzed using simple linear regression. The result of the study shows that the library collection is in the high category (average 3.56), while students' reading interest is in the sufficient category (average 3.28), with an interesting gap between the high affective dimension and the still low behavioral dimension. Regression analysis produces the equation Y= 6.399 + 0.917X with F count 64.727 and t count 8.045 (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), which proves that there is a positive and significant influence on library collections on reading interest. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.470 indicates Library collections contribute 47.0% to participants' reading interest education, while the remaining 53.0% is influenced by other factors outside this research. It can be concluded that the gap between high pleasure/interest with active involvement is still low, it becomes a critical point that needs to be addressed. intervened, so that the quality and currency of the collection increases libraries need to be integrated with strategies that encourage active reading behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of implementing the deep learning curriculum at Madrasah Aliyah Al Amiriyyah Blokagung Banyuwangi and to identify its implications for educational transformation and the potential dehumanization of teachers. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving 25 informants, including the school principal, teachers, parents, and community leaders, during the period of April–August 2026. The findings reveal divergent perceptions among educators and parents regarding the deep learning curriculum: some view it as a transformative innovation fostering creativity and critical thinking, while others feel burdened by technological demands and pedagogical shifts. Furthermore, social resistance emerged from community members who protested against the curriculum, perceiving it as a threat to the religious and moral values traditionally upheld by Islamic education. “Academic outcomes among students also varied: improving for those who were digitally literate but declining for those less adaptive”. These findings suggest that digital transformation in education must be balanced with humanistic and spiritual values to prevent the erosion of teacher–student relationships and avoid the risk of educational dehumanization.

Abstract

The expansion of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) creates new opportunities for administrative efficiency, data analysis, communication, and decision support in educational institutions, while simultaneously raising concerns about privacy, bias, opacity, cognitive dependence, and blurred human accountability. This study develops a context-sensitive governance framework for GenAI in Islamic educational institutions. It employs an integrative literature review and thematic-comparative analysis of peer-reviewed scholarship on AI in educational leadership and management, responsible AI, AI literacy, digital transformation, and Islamic educational management. The synthesis produces the Amanah–Adl–Maslahah (AAM) Framework, connecting three normative principles with five governance functions: data stewardship, human-in-the-loop decision making, fairness and inclusion, transparency and verification, and capability and continuous evaluation. The framework positions AI as an analytical and administrative support system while retaining moral authority, high-stakes decisions, and institutional accountability with human leaders. Its novelty lies in shifting the discussion from technology adoption to an operational governance architecture that integrates efficiency, accountability, justice, and public benefit in Islamic educational settings. The framework offers a practical basis for institutional policies, standard operating procedures, leadership development, and future empirical research across madrasahs, pesantren, and Islamic schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and evaluate the micro-resilience strategies implemented by MA Ibnu Khaldun Toili to overcome limitations regarding subject-specialized educators and physical learning facilities in a rural area. A descriptive-reflective qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through participant observation and document analysis, utilizing the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal that the madrasa successfully maintained instructional effectiveness and achieved a 100% graduation rate through three internal adaptation strategies: optimizing multi-subject teaching via a peer-mentoring system to address the shortage of civil servant teachers; modifying the curriculum by substituting physical laboratories with Toili’s open natural environment as a contextual learning space, which reduced student learning anxiety; and mobilizing self-funded resources through community-based tactical partnerships with the school committee, alumni, and local private entities to cover operational deficits. This organizational resilience was driven by the conversion of religious social capital into robust organizational citizenship behavior. The study contributes theoretical insights into micro-level educational resilience in rural settings—an area previously dominated by top-down macro approaches—and provides a practical blueprint for autonomous crisis management that can be replicated by other marginalized schools facing similar resource deprivation.
