Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of understanding Islamic education in higher education not only as a process of transmitting religious knowledge, but as a social practice that shapes academic culture, pedagogical interactions, Islamic identity, and moral responsibility of students. This research aims to analyze academic culture and the integration of Islamic values in Islamic higher education. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed thematically-interpretively. The results of the study show that the integration of Islamic values takes place through six main forms, namely the formation of a religious academic culture, lecturer-student interaction as a medium for socializing values, a forum for academic-religious studies and activities, student awards and participation, Islamic education's response to social change, and a hidden curriculum in the formation of Islamic habitus. The values of manners, trust, discipline, responsibility, religiosity, respect for knowledge, and academic ethics are not only taught formally, but also habituated through campus symbols, lecturer examples, institutional routines, and daily social practices. This research confirms that Islamic universities function as a social space that simultaneously produces students' values, identity, academic culture, and moral orientation.

Abstract

This article aims to reconstruct the understanding of hadiths on the obligation of Hajj through the approaches of ʿilal al-Ḥadīth, and to analyse their implications for quota and visa regulations in the perspective of uṣūl al-fiqh. The hadiths concerning the obligation of Hajj essentially affirm a universal command for every Muslim who possesses the required capability (istiṭāʿah) to perform it once in a lifetime. However, in the contemporary context, the performance of Hajj faces various administrative regulations, such as quota restrictions imposed by the Saudi Arabian government and the requirement of visas as formal legal instruments. This study employs an integrative-qualitative design using both library research and field research, and applies three levels of analysis: fiqh al-Ḥadīth, ʿilal al-Ḥadīth, and naqd al-matn, alongside the uṣūl al-fiqh perspective related to taqyīd al-mubāḥ, maṣlaḥah mursalah, and the concept of istiṭāʿah. The findings indicate that quota and visa regulations do not contradict the substance of the hadiths on the obligation of Hajj; rather, they constitute a form of legal contextualisation aimed at safeguarding public interest, order, and the safety of pilgrims. Accordingly, the understanding of hadiths on the obligation of Hajj needs to be dynamically reconstructed so that it remains relevant to social realities and modern policy frameworks, without neglecting the authority of the hadith texts and the foundational principles of uṣūl al-fiqh.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze madrasah culture and the formation of students’ environmental care character through the Adiwiyata Program at MIN 2 Kota Palembang from the perspective of Islamic educational sociology. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation involving the head of madrasah, teachers, the Adiwiyata team, students, and relevant school personnel. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal three main points. First, the Adiwiyata Program has been institutionalized as part of madrasah culture through environmental policies, curriculum integration, participatory activities, environmentally friendly facilities, and regular evaluation. Second, teachers play a central role as agents of value socialization through exemplary behavior and repeated habituation, such as classroom cleaning duties, waste collection, recycling activities, and plant care. Third, students’ environmental care character begins to develop from obedience to teachers’ instructions into social awareness, shown through keeping the classroom clean, disposing of waste properly, caring for plants, and reminding peers. However, this internalization still faces challenges, including inconsistent home habituation, peer influence, consumptive habits, waste volume, and limited supporting facilities. This study contributes to strengthening environmental character education in madrasah by showing that environmental care is formed not only through formal programs, but also through institutionalized culture, teacher role modeling, collective habituation, and sustainable social practices.

Abstract

Interest in learning is one of the determining factors for students' success in understanding Social Sciences courses in the PGMI Study Program. The purpose of the research is to analyse the condition of PGMI INSIP students' learning interests in Social Sciences courses. And identify the types of learning media that lecturers have been using in lectures. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study. The sample consisted of 3 lecturers teaching Social Sciences courses, 12 PGMI students in semesters 2, 4, and 6, 1 Head of PGMI Study Program, and 1 Administrative Staff. The main instrument in qualitative research is the researcher himself (human instrument). To support data collection, auxiliary instruments were used in the form of Observation Guidelines, Semi-Structured Interview Guidelines, Documentation, and Field Notes. It is used by researchers to record important phenomena during the study. Data analysis uses the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana models, through the stages of Data Reduction, Data Presentation (Data Display), and Conclusion Drawn. The results of the study show that the effective strategy of learning media at PGMI INSIP lies in the use of interactive, visual, collaborative, and digital technology-based media such as Canva, Quizizz, learning videos, and digital social case studies. This study found that PGMI INSIP students are more interested in learning that combines visual elements, group discussions, gamification, and the relationship of the material with social realities in society. This research contributes in the form of a conceptual model of learning media strategies for the PGMI Study Program in increasing students' interest in learning in Social Sciences courses.

Abstract

Pluralitas sosial-budaya menempatkan pendidikan Islam dalam ruang sosial yang kompleks, terutama ketika peserta didik hadir dengan perbedaan etnis, bahasa, kelas sosial, pengalaman komunitas, dan posisi keagamaan. Kajian ini bertujuan menganalisis rekognisi minoritas dalam pendidikan Islam multikultural melalui perspektif sosiologi pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif-kritis. Literatur yang dianalisis mencakup artikel jurnal internasional, buku akademik, dan hasil penelitian yang relevan dengan pendidikan Islam, pendidikan multikultural, minoritas, rekognisi, relasi kuasa, dan keadilan sosial. Data dianalisis melalui pembacaan kritis, pengelompokan tema sesuai rumusan masalah, perbandingan argumen antar-literatur, dan sintesis sosiologis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pluralitas sosial-budaya dapat menempatkan minoritas dalam dua posisi, yaitu sebagai kelompok yang dimarginalkan oleh struktur pendidikan atau sebagai subjek yang direkognisi melalui pendidikan Islam yang adil dan responsif. Kurikulum, pedagogi guru, budaya kelembagaan, dan asesmen dapat menjadi ruang rekognisi apabila memberi tempat bagi identitas, pengalaman, suara, dan partisipasi peserta didik minoritas. Sebaliknya, keempat aspek tersebut dapat mereproduksi marginalisasi apabila hanya merepresentasikan pengalaman kelompok dominan. Kontribusi kajian ini terletak pada penempatan rekognisi minoritas sebagai isu utama dalam sosiologi pendidikan Islam, sehingga pendidikan Islam multikultural tidak hanya dipahami sebagai pendidikan toleransi, tetapi juga sebagai agenda keadilan sosial. Kajian ini menegaskan bahwa pendidikan Islam multikultural perlu bergerak dari toleransi normatif menuju rekognisi substantif yang mengakui martabat, pengalaman, dan partisipasi kelompok minoritas.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the world of education, including in Islamic Religious Education (IS). This study aims to analyze the use of digital learning media in increasing student interest in fiqh at Madrasah Aliyah Ma'arif NU 01 Bantarkawung. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that digital learning media plays an important role in increasing student enthusiasm, activeness, and interest in fiqh learning. The use of various digital media such as learning videos, interactive presentations, online learning platforms, and educational applications can create a more interesting and communicative learning atmosphere. Supporting factors for the implementation of digital media include the availability of technological facilities and teacher competence in utilizing digital media, while inhibiting factors include limited internet access, differences in students' technological abilities, and limited supporting devices. This study confirms that the use of digital learning media can be an effective strategy in increasing student interest in fiqh.

Abstract

The value of Islamic education in a multicultural global society is crucial. This is because various countries around the world, including Indonesia, have numerous ethnicities, cultures, languages, and other ethnicities and religions (besides Islam) that coexist. Based on this background, the research questions in this thesis are: 1) What is the summary (synopsis) of the film "Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2"? 2) What is the depiction of multicultural society in Indonesia? 3) How are the values ​​of multicultural Islamic education represented in the film "Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2"? The objectives of this thesis are: 1) to understand the summary (synopsis) of the film "Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2," 2) to understand the depiction of multicultural society in Indonesia, and 3) to understand the representation of multicultural Islamic educational values. This film is interesting to study because it is present in the multiethnic and multireligious culture of Indonesia and the world. On the one hand, the majority of Indonesian society is Muslim, with all its religious fanaticism. This religious fanaticism sometimes triggers conflict in society. The researcher used a qualitative research method with a framing method as her analytical approach. This method is considered capable of examining how individuals frame messages or values ​​contained in the delivery of multicultural Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that the "Representation of Multicultural Islamic Education Values" in the film "Ayat-Ayat Cinta 2" addresses ethnicity and religion, encompassing cultural, linguistic, and tolerance values, particularly those of Islam and Judaism, as well as those of Indonesian-Arab and Jewish-British ethnicities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the Indonesian language attitudes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 01 Karang Gede Village, Sikap Dalam Subdistrict, Empat Lawang Regency, focusing on language loyalty, language pride, and awareness of language norms. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.The findings reveal that students’ Indonesian language attitudes are generally in a fairly good category but not yet optimal. In terms of language loyalty, students use Indonesian in formal situations but tend to use the local language in informal interactions. Regarding language pride, students understand the importance of Indonesian as the national language, but it has not yet fully become part of their linguistic identity. In terms of language norm awareness, students still face difficulties in using Indonesian according to standard grammatical rules. Overall, students’ language attitudes are situational and strongly influenced by their social environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in Indonesian language learning through a literature review approach. Problem-Based Learning is a learning model that emphasizes the active involvement of students in the process of solving real problems so that learning becomes more meaningful, contextual, and student-centered. The method used in this study is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained from various scientific sources such as national journals, research articles, and relevant academic publications in the 2020–2025 period. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques by collecting, classifying, and synthesizing the results of previous studies related to the application of PBL in Indonesian language learning. The results of the study indicate that the Problem-Based Learning model has high effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, and language skills, especially in writing and speaking skills. In addition, Problem-Based Learning can also increase learning motivation, student activeness, and create a more interactive and collaborative learning atmosphere. However, the implementation of PBL still faces several challenges such as teacher readiness in designing learning, time constraints, and differences in student abilities. Overall, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model is an effective and relevant learning model to be applied in Indonesian language learning in the 21st century education era.

Abstract

Gratification is a form of action that has the potential to lead to criminal acts of corruption if it is carried out by civil servants or state administrators related to their positions and authorities. This study aims to determine the analysis of rewards as gratification for employees (study of Law Number 20 of 2001 Article 12b paragraph (1) in conjunction with Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning criminal acts of corruption) and to determine the perspective of Islamic criminal law in the analysis of rewards as gratification for employees. This research is a normative juridical legal research, namely research conducted by examining library materials (library research), where the data used is library data that is related to this research which refers to legal norms, principles, rules of statutory regulations. The results of the study show that in positive law, gratification is strictly regulated in Law Number 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law Number 20 of 2001, where any gratification received by civil servants (ASN, employees based on the Criminal Code, recipients of state salaries/state facilities) or state administrators (executive, legislative, judicial officials) is considered a bribe if it is contrary to their obligations or duties and must be reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission. Meanwhile, in the perspective of Islamic criminal law, gratification that contains elements of ulterior motives or aims to influence employee decisions is categorized as risywah (bribery) or ghulûl (treason) which is forbidden and includes major sins. Although giving gifts is basically encouraged in Islam, it becomes prohibited if it is related to certain positions and interests. Thus, both positive law and Islamic criminal law equally prohibit gratification that has the potential to damage justice, trust, and the integrity of state apparatus.
