Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of mastering the Qur'an through tahsin (recitation improvement) and tahfiz (memorization) as an integral part of Islamic education. The purpose of this study is to implement and analyze the tahfiz and tahsin learning methods applied at Rumah Tahfiz Khairunnas Ahmed Al-Ihsan Medan, a special institution for female students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with caregivers and female students, and documentation studies. The results show that the implementation of the tahfiz and tahsin learning methods at the institution is structured and intensive, combining the tasmi' (listening) method and direct tahsin coaching by teachers. The main methods applied are individual memorization (muraja'ah) deposits, additional independent memorization in a special zone, and tahsin classes to improve reading, tajweed rules, and makharijul huruf. A busy activity schedule integrated with daily worship supports the effectiveness of the memorization process. Key supporting factors include the guidance of dedicated female Islamic teachers, a supportive dormitory system, and fee waivers for female students. Challenges such as boredom and homesickness were successfully addressed through time management and scheduled communication. This research provides practical benefits in the form of an overview of an effective tahfiz-tahsin learning model in a female-only dormitory environment, which can serve as a reference for managers of similar institutions in optimizing Quran memorization programs.

Abstract

Teaching young children to read the Qur'an is not an easy task, as it requires not only adequate knowledge but also an appropriate teaching method that can be effectively applied in the learning process. This study examines the implementation of the Iqro method in improving the quality of Qur'an reading at Ummul Yaqin TPQ. The focus of this research is on teachers' efforts to optimize the accuracy of makhraj (pronunciation) and tajwid through the use of Iqro textbooks volumes 1–6. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research design. Data were collected through interviews and direct observations during the learning process. The main issue addressed in this study is that many students still experience difficulties in reading the Qur'an correctly and fluently. In addition, support from competent and qualified teachers with expertise in Qur'an recitation is essential. The findings of this study are expected to provide recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of Qur'an reading instruction at Ummul Yaqin TPQ. Consequently, children will be better equipped to master Qur'an reading skills accurately and correctly in accordance with the rules of tajwid, progressing from the beginner level to advanced proficiency.

Abstract

The focus of this study is: 1. To determine the implementation of literacy programs in improving reading skills in Indonesian language subjects of grade III students at SD Swasta 074 Muhammadiyah Torbanua Raja. 2. To identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of literacy programs to improve reading skills of grade III students in Indonesian language subjects at SD Swasta 074 Muhammadiyah Torbanua Raja. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The research subjects in this study were the principal, the third-grade homeroom teacher, and students of Muhammadiyah Torbanua 074 Private Elementary School. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the literacy program is being implemented at Muhammadiyah Torbanua Raja 074 Private Elementary School. This includes the habituation of literacy activities in the classroom, the presence of a reading corner, the arrangement of attractive reading books, and the promotion of literacy outside the classroom. Supporting factors for the implementation of the literacy program include the availability of textbooks and level books, parental motivation for students, and a supportive school environment. Inhibiting factors for the implementation of the literacy program to improve students' reading skills include: limited learning time, and a lack of reading books.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik, hambatan, dan strategi komunikasi efektif dalam tim pengajar Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur'an (TPA) An-Nisa di Kapanewon Turi, Kabupaten Sleman, Yogyakarta. Sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam nonformal berbasis komunitas, TPA sangat bergantung pada efektivitas komunikasi untuk memastikan kelancaran pembelajaran Al-Qur'an dan koordinasi antar pengajar, selaras dengan prinsip Islam tentang musyawarah (QS. Ali Imran: 159) dan qawlan sadidan sebagai landasan komunikasi yang jujur dan terarah (QS. An-Nisa: 9). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi terhadap pengurus, ustadz/ustadzah, serta relawan TPA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi berlangsung melalui interaksi langsung, media digital (WhatsApp), dan komunikasi informal yang secara kolektif membentuk budaya organisasi yang kuat dan bernuansa kekeluargaan. Hambatan komunikasi mencakup perbedaan persepsi antar generasi pengajar, gangguan lingkungan fisik, serta ketidakteraturan penggunaan media digital. Peran kepemimpinan terbukti penting dalam menyelaraskan informasi, membangun bahasa bersama (shared language), dan menjaga motivasi anggota tim. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa komunikasi efektif merupakan faktor kunci dalam meningkatkan kualitas layanan pendidikan Islam nonformal, dan merekomendasikan penguatan tata kelola komunikasi internal, penggunaan media yang lebih terstruktur, serta evaluasi berkala berbasis prinsip dialog terbuka dan ukhuwah dalam organisasi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pattern of character development of student discipline based on Islamic values ​​at SMK Izzul Islam Salem. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study research type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, homeroom teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions through triangulation techniques. The results of the study indicate that the development of student discipline character is carried out through five main patterns, namely exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah), habituation (habituation), supervision and control, the provision of educational sanctions, and internalization of Islamic values. The internalized Islamic values ​​include obedience (ta'ah), responsibility (amanah), honesty (shiddiq), and consistency (istiqamah). Supporting factors for character development of discipline include a religious school environment, teacher role models, structured school programs, and support from the principal. Inhibiting factors include low awareness of some students, the influence of the social environment, and less than optimal family support. This study shows that the integration of Islamic values ​​in school culture contributes positively to the formation of students' disciplined character.

Abstract

Stunting is not merely a problem of short stature; it reflects chronic nutritional deprivation, repeated infection, and inadequate care during the decisive stages of child growth. This article adapts and translates a qualitative library-based study on the Qur'anic guidance of two-year breastfeeding as a preventive framework for stunting in Indonesia. Using a thematic tafsir approach, the study examines Qur'anic verses on rada'ah (breastfeeding), particularly Qur'an 2:233, 31:14, and 46:15, and relates them to health literature on exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding, and the first 1000 days of life. The discussion shows that the Qur'an presents breastfeeding as a child right, a maternal dignity, and a paternal responsibility because the father is required to support the mother materially and emotionally. Two-year breastfeeding is therefore not only a religious recommendation but also a family and public-health strategy. The article concludes that Qur'anic parenting values can strengthen stunting prevention by integrating nutrition, mental health support for mothers, father involvement, ethical health services, and community education.

Abstract

Historical studies of Islamic kingdoms in Indonesia generally focus on political, economic, and military aspects, while the dimension of Islamic education has not been systematically analyzed as a structural indicator of civilizational change. This article aims to analyze the dynamics of the rise and decline of Islamic kingdoms in the Indonesian archipelago through the perspective of Islamic education as the main variable. The research uses a historical-qualitative approach based on library studies of Indonesian and international historiographical sources and reputable scientific journal articles. The kingdoms studied include Samudera Pasai, Aceh Darussalam, Demak, Banten, and Islamic Mataram. The results show that during the peak period, Islamic education developed through political patronage, the integration of ulama and the palace, and the institutionalization of mosques, dayah, and pesantren. During the period of decline due to internal conflict and colonialism, Islamic education did not experience total disruption but transformed into a more autonomous community-based institution. Comparative analysis reveals a pattern of institutional resilience of Islamic education amidst changing power structures. Islamic education in the Indonesian archipelago has proven to be highly adaptive and capable of maintaining continuity of values ​​despite political fragmentation.

Abstract

This study examines the Love-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta/KBC) developed by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs from a Qur’anic perspective. The research analyzes the Qur’anic normative foundations of the values of love that underpin the curriculum and their relevance to the development of humanistic Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, drawing on library research. Primary data were derived from the Qur’an, classical and contemporary tafsir literature, and official documents of the Love-Based Curriculum issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The data were analyzed using the thematic interpretation method (tafsīr mawḍū‘ī), focusing on Qur’anic verses related to love, compassion, humanity, knowledge, and the environment. The findings reveal that the Love-Based Curriculum possesses a strong normative foundation in the Qur’an. Love for Allah and the Prophet serves as the spiritual foundation of education, while love for fellow human beings emphasizes the importance of inclusive, tolerant, and humanistic education. Furthermore, love for knowledge positions education as a means of intellectual and moral transformation, whereas love for the environment reflects the eco-theological dimension of Islamic education. This study concludes that the Love-Based Curriculum is not merely a pedagogical innovation, but also an actualization of Qur’anic values within contemporary Islamic education. Therefore, the curriculum may serve as a paradigm of humanistic Islamic education that integrates spirituality, morality, intellectuality, and socio-ecological awareness in shaping holistic human beings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembiasaan baca tulis Al-Qur'an dengan makharijul huruf dan tajwid pada santri Madrasah Diniyah NU Dusun Planjan Langkap Kecamatan Bumiayu Kabupaten Brebes. Permasalahan yang ditemukan adalah masih banyak santri yang kesulitan melafalkan huruf hijaiyah sesuai makhraj dan menerapkan kaidah tajwid dengan benar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara terstruktur, observasi langsung, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pembiasaan dilaksanakan melalui latihan membaca Al-Qur'an secara rutin dengan bimbingan guru, penyimakan individual, dan koreksi langsung terhadap kesalahan bacaan; (2) metode pembiasaan berperan cukup signifikan dalam meningkatkan kelancaran membaca, ketepatan makharijul huruf, dan pemahaman tajwid santri; (3) faktor pendukung meliputi sistem pembelajaran yang terstruktur, bimbingan intensif guru, dan motivasi santri, sedangkan faktor penghambat meliputi perbedaan kemampuan membaca, kurangnya kedisiplinan latihan mandiri, dan rendahnya motivasi sebagian santri. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa metode pembiasaan yang diterapkan secara konsisten efektif dalam membentuk kebiasaan membaca Al-Qur'an yang benar sesuai makharijul huruf dan kaidah tajwid.
