Abstract

Background: Children's lives are a crucial stage of development that has to be supported. This stage is characterized by extremely quick physical, psychomotor, mental, and social development and growth. 34.3% of parents do not take their children's growth and development into account. As a result, many children's growth and development have not been monitored. 33.5% of kids are thought to have developmental issues. Objectives: To monitor the progress and development of toddlers at the Kesamben Public Health Center in Jombang Regency, the study set out to identify the characteristics of toddler mothers. Methods: Cross-sectional approach in a descriptive study design. The study's samples, which were chosen by chance, consisted of up to 53 mothers of toddlers. Data analysis employs univariate analysis. Results: Twenty-seven mothers (50.9%) had a high family income, thirty mothers (56.6%) were between the ages of twenty and thirty-six, thirty mothers (54.8%) had completed high school, thirty mothers (69.8%) had two or more children, and forty-four mothers (83%), did not work, according to the findings.   Conclusion: The study findings indicate that most mothers of toddlers at Posyandu Dahlia, Kesamben Public Health Center, Jombang Regency are in the productive age range, have completed high school education, have high family income, have two or more children, and are not employed. These characteristics influence mothers' involvement in monitoring their children's growth and development. Mothers with higher education and stable income tend to have better awareness of child growth monitoring. Additionally, unemployed mothers have more time to participate in Posyandu activities compared to working mothers. This study highlights the need for increased parental awareness and education programs to enhance child growth monitoring, particularly among mothers with lower education and income levels. Strengthening health education and parental support is essential to improve children's overall health and development outcomes.

Abstract

Background: Iron (Fe) is an essential micronutrient involved in hemoglobin synthesis, playing a significant role in maternal health during pregnancy. Compliance with iron tablet consumption remains a challenge, often influenced by various psychosocial factors. Among them, husband support is believed to have a strong influence on pregnant women's adherence to iron supplementation. Objectives: This study aimed to explore the meaning of husband support in enhancing pregnant women’s adherence to iron tablet consumption at BPM SM Singgosari, Jabon Village, Jombang. Methods: A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed to gain in-depth insights into the experiences of pregnant women. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving pregnant women attending antenatal care at the midwifery clinic. Thematic analysis was used to identify emerging patterns and meanings from the participants’ narratives. Results: The findings revealed that husband support not only functioned as motivational encouragement but also had emotional and social dimensions that significantly influenced the readiness of pregnant women to follow medical recommendations. Acts of support included reminding of consumption schedules, providing emotional comfort, and accompanying antenatal visits. Such involvement fostered a stronger understanding and compliance with iron supplementation. Conclusion: The study highlights the critical role of husband support in promoting iron tablet adherence among pregnant women. The findings suggest the need for health interventions that actively involve partners, emphasizing a family-based educational approach to improve maternal nutrition outcomes.

Abstract

Background: Gross motor development encompasses the ability to execute bodily movements involving the contraction of large muscle groups in children. The proficient development of these skills can be facilitated through consistent stimulation, with activities such as playing throw-and-catch ball serving as a notable example. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effect of engaging in throw-and-catch ball activities on the gross motor development of Group A children at Muslimat Tunas Harapan Kindergarten in Mojoagung, Jombang. Methods: Employing a pre-experimental design, this research utilized a one-group pretest-posttest approach with a total sampling technique. Consequently, a sample of 22 children from Group A at Muslimat Tunas Harapan Kindergarten in Mojoagung, Jombang, was included in the study. Results: The results indicated that before the intervention (ball throwing therapy), 2 respondents (9.1%) exhibited gross motor skills in the BSB (Berkembang Sangat Baik - Very Well Developed) category. Following the intervention, a significant improvement was observed, with 10 respondents (45.5%) achieving the BSB category in gross motor skills. Furthermore, the Wilcoxon test yielded an Asymptotic Significance (2-tailed) value of 0.001, which is less than the alpha level of 0.05 (p<0.05). This outcome led to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1), confirming a statistically significant influence of playing throw and catch ball on the gross motor development of Group A children at Muslimat Tunas Harapan Kindergarten, Mojoagung, Jombang.   Conclusion: Stimulating children's gross motor skills from an early age is crucial, as it enhances their physical movements essential for subsequent growth. It is anticipated that implementing ball-throwing games can serve as a viable alternative therapy for promoting gross motor development in children.

Abstract

Background: The Mobile JKN application is a digital innovation by BPJS Kesehatan designed to simplify public access to the National Health Insurance system. However, its adoption remains limited, partly due to patients’ lack of knowledge regarding the application’s functions and use. Objectives: This study aims to examine the relationship between the knowledge level of outpatients and their use of the Mobile JKN application at RSUD Otanaha in 2025. Methods: This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. A total of 97 outpatients were selected using the Slovin formula and accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire consisting of five indicators: know, comprehension, application, effort expectancy, and performance expectancy. Statistical analysis included univariate description and Pearson correlation to assess the relationship between knowledge and Mobile JKN usage. Results: The study revealed that most respondents rated the Mobile JKN application's efficiency (35.1%) and system availability (41.2%) as “less good,” while 48.5% expressed overall dissatisfaction. Pearson correlation analysis showed a strong and statistically significant relationship between patients’ knowledge and their perception of the application's usability and performance. Specifically, knowledge was strongly correlated with effort expectancy (r = 0.733) and performance expectancy (r = 0.819). Comprehension and application dimensions also demonstrated strong correlations with both effort and performance expectancy (r values ranging from 0.770 to 0.830, p < 0.001). Elderly users experienced more difficulties due to lower digital literacy. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between patient knowledge and the use of the Mobile JKN application. Knowledge plays a key role in optimizing the application’s utilization. More intensive educational efforts are needed to empower patients to use the app independently as part of improved health service delivery.
