Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of income and the amount of risk of Scallion farming and to describe the behavior of farmers in reducing the risk of onion farming in Konawe Regency. The study was conducted in 2023 at the onion production center in Linonggasay Village, West Wonggeduku District with a total sample of 20 farmers. The analysis used was income analysis and descriptive analysis of the risk level using the variation coefficient (%). The results showed that the average net income was IDR 12,788,000 per planting season. Scallion farming is included in the category of farming with a risk of less than 0.5, namely the use of equipment (0.05), the use of pesticides (0.13), and the use of labor in fertilization (0.32), while the rest have moderate risks, namely harvest labor (0.51), planting labor (0.59), seeds (0.64), fertilizer (0.72), and processing (0.90) and none in the high risk category. Some of the farmer behaviors carried out to reduce risk include: buying seeds from saprodi kiosks, controlling plant pests using chemical fertilizers, using recommended planting distances, utilizing labor from outside the village, and in the event of failure, taking savings to meet family needs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the efficiency of the use of fertilizer production factors in cayenne pepper plants in Lambuya Village, Lambuya District, Konawe Regency. This research was carried out in Lambuya Village, Lambuya District, Konawe Regency. Sampling uses the census method, which is to take a total sample of 30 people. The data analysis method used is economic efficiency. Based on the results of the calculation of the use of inefficient fertilizer production factors for cayenne pepper farming in Lambuya Village, Lambuya District, Konawe Regency. This is shown by an efficiency value that is not equal to one (NPMx ≠ 1), namely; the efficiency value of SP 36 is 0.70, the efficiency value of NPK Ponska is 0.87, the efficiency value of NPK Mutiara is 0.66 and the efficiency value of liquid organic fertilizer is 2.07. This means that the use of fertilizer production factors in farming is still very wasteful and inappropriate.

Abstract

Pragmatics is one of the branches of semiotics, alongside semantics and syntax, that examines the relationship between signs and their usage. Speech acts, or activities involving a speaker and a listener, are divided into five types: representative, commissive, directive, expressive, and declarative speech acts. This study primarily focuses on one of these types—representative speech acts. The researcher collected health-related videos tagged #suaratirta from the YouTube channel Tirta PengPengPeng using the Listen, Free, Engage, Speak (SBLC) method along with note-taking techniques. The data were then analyzed using matching and distributional techniques. The findings reveal 93 instances of representative speech acts, detailed as follows: a) 13 declarative statements, b) 27 explanatory statements, c) 42 informative statements, d) 9 warning statements, and e) 2 speculative statements. Additionally, 19 instances of impositive speech acts were identified, categorized as follows: a) 5 directive statements, b) 7 advisory statements, c) 2 prohibitive statements, and d) 5 interrogative statements.

The data collection technique used is a pragmatic approach in the form of free listening techniques, note-taking techniques, and documentation techniques. The pairing technique was also used to analyze the data. The informal method is used as a data presentation technique in this research. The data presentation is poured into a table containing some assertive and directive utterances and their reasons. Abstract

This study evaluates the lighting intensity in an automotive parts manufacturing company in East Java, focusing on compliance with SNI 7062:2019 and SNI 7391:2008 standards. This study addresses the critical industrial hygiene-related issue of inadequate lighting experienced by workers, which can lead to health risks such as eyestrain and increased accident rates. The methodology used was quantitative, involving direct observation and measurement using a calibrated lux meter. The data collected was analyzed through the Anticipation, Recognition, Evaluation and Control (AREP) method to assess the existing lighting conditions and their impact on worker safety and comfort. Findings show that current lighting levels do not meet set standards, highlighting the need for improvements in the working environment. Recommendations for improving lighting conditions are provided to ensure compliance with safety regulations and to promote employee well-being. This research emphasizes the importance of proper lighting in manufacturing settings, contributing to the wider discourse on occupational health and safety in the automotive industry.

Abstract

Fire is one of the serious threats to buildings, especially national vital objects such as Building B Administration Electric Company East Java. Evaluation of the fire protection system, which includes Portable Fire Extinguishers (APAR), hydrant systems, and Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), is important to ensure the readiness and suitability of the devices in dealing with potential fires. This study was conducted through direct observation and comparing the results with international safety standards such as NFPA 10, NFPA 14, and NFPA 72. The evaluation results showed that the level of suitability of APAR was 89%, the hydrant system 72.6%, and FAS 83.66%. Although most elements of the fire protection system have met the standards, improvements are needed, especially in hydrant accessibility, APAR maintenance, and the implementation of fire alarm simulations. This evaluation provides important input to improve operational security and safety at Building B Administration Electric Company East Java..
