Piston: Jurnal Teknologi
Jurnal PISTON-JT merupakan jurnal single blind peer review multidisiplin keteknikan dan natural sains yang diterbitkan oleh Jurusan D-3 Teknik Mesin, Program Pendidikan Vokasi Universitas Halu Oleo, Kendari, INDONESIA. Jurnal ini terbit dalam 2 (dua) terbitan dalam setahun yakni pada bulan Juni, dan Desember. Setiap terbitan dapat memuat minimal 5 artikel. Artikel dapat ditulis menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia atau Bahasa Inggris. Jurnal PISTON-JT memuat naskah ilmiah tentang hasil penelitian, hasil rancang bangun atau desain,hasil aplikasi, dan telaah pustaka yang terkait dengan ilmu keteknikan, natural sains, dan aplikasi industri.Setiap artikel yang masuk mengalami pemeriksaan plagiarisme menggunakan perangkat lunak yang handal. Similaritas naskah maksimal 25% tidak termasuk informasi penulis dan daftar pustaka. Jurnal PISTON-JT dapat menjadi referensi keilmuan di bidang natural sains, khususnya mesin-mesin dan industri untuk para peneliti, praktisi dan mahasiswa khususnya bidang Pendidikan Vokasi keteknikan.

Occupational Health and Safety (K3) is our effort to create a healthy and safe work environment so as to reduce the probability of occupational accidents and diseases due to negligence which results in demotivation and deficiency in work productivity. At PT. Equiport Inti Indonesia, the application of forklift operating safety regulations has not been carried out thoroughly. The non-implementation of the implementation of the regulations as a whole can trigger work accidents. The purpose of this final project is to find out the steps taken by the company in preventing work accidents in forklift operations. The method used in this final project uses interviews and direct observation in the company to fill in the checklist table that has been prepared as a data collection tool. The analysis in this final project uses a fishbone diagram. The use of fishbone diagrams is carried out to trace the causes and effects that arise from the deficiencies found that can lead to forklift work accidents. The results of this final project show that PT. Equiport Inti Indonesia still lacks in implementing safety standards in forklift operations, including the absence of pedestrian paths, incomplete forklift safety signs, and the operator's lack of seriousness in operating forklifts. From the results of this final project, it can be concluded that the company pays little attention to the procedures for implementing occupational safety and health in forklift operations.

Dispensers have an important role in providing adequate drinking water for needs and can be placed around where we work. The purpose of this research is how to design and make an automatic dispenser system based on Arduino Uno and it can work well when filling the glass when the glass is placed. This research was conducted by coding using Arduino IDE 1.0.6 software to program Arduino Uno to control servo motors and ultrasonic sensors. The results of this study indicate that the automatic dispenser can work to fill glasses from a distance of 5 cm to 0 cm and open the dispenser faucet 1 cm. From the manufacture of this tool it can be concluded that this tool works well, in accordance with its purpose to make it easier to take water, the automatic dispenser is driven by a servo motor with a wire attached to the side of the dispenser lever, the control system uses Arduino Uno. Suggestions can be given so that this tool can be developed. Another suggestion for development is that so that the automatic system of this tool can work properly, the placement of the sensor must be in the right position so that the glass plate can be filled properly, it is better to turn on the Arduino uno by using a switch.

There are two factors that determine the rate of heat transfer from hot water to air as a cooling medium, namely the contact time and the surface area between the phases, where to determine the performance of the cooling tower, the performance of the cooling tower needs to be identified. Because of this, research is needed which aims to determine fluid circulation in induced draft counterflow cooling towers and to determine the cooling ability with a standard inlet water temperature of 70oC and a standard outlet water temperature of 27oC. This research uses a structured or quantitative approach method where the research process is carried out by making a design and design of a cooling system which is then identified by measuring and calculating cooling towers. Based on research conducted on the mechanism of fluid circulation in induced draft counterflow cooling towers, it starts with hot water entering the tower being expelled through the nozzle, where the falling water will break and slow down as it passes through the filler. At the same time air enters through the inlet and passes through the filler, hot steam will be attracted along with the air and cold water will fall into the cold water pool. The cooling tower is capable of cooling water from a temperature of 70oC to a standard discharge temperature of 27oC with an average range of 44.38oC and an average approach of -0.67oC and produces an effectiveness value of up to 100% and a maximum heat absorption capacity of up to 225 kW.

A solar-powered ship is a means of marine transportation that is designed in such a way that its use is different from ships in general. This ship relies on solar energy as the main fuel so that this ship uses solar panels to capture sunlight and is stored in batteries/batteries as energy to drive a DC motor so that the electric ship can move stably. The goal is to be able to complete the final task. The method used in this final project uses the method of collecting data by searching for books, journals and modules related to the design title as a reference for the tool that the researcher designed. The result of this design is that the solar powered electric boat with 250 watts of power takes 59 seconds at a distance of 10 meters. 23 cm using a 50 Watt solar panel, 12 Volt Battery/Battery and 12 Volt DC Dynamo/Motor. As a boat engine and also an electric boat, this is very good as an alternative means of transportation that is environmentally friendly with no operational costs and small maintenance costs.

The increasing development of science and technology is marked by the rapid progress that occurs with the creation of increasingly sophisticated equipment as well as security systems such as door locks. The design of this tool aims to increase the security of the door and to increase the power of creativity, innovation and expertise. This system uses an Arduino microcontroller board that functions as a control center, a fingerprint sensor is used to open the lock from outside and an ultrasonic sensor is used to open the lock from inside the room, and this system is equipped with a conventional key as an unlocker if a problem occurs in the system. The results of testing this tool on the fingerprint sensor, the test is carried out using five fingers, where three fingers have been registered and two fingers are not registered. Two fingers that have been registered can be read and one finger that has been registered cannot be read, this can occur due to several factors such as dirty sensor fingers, incorrect finger positions and others. In the ultrasonic sensor there is no problem with the sensor. This tool has the advantage that the level of security is higher than conventional keys and has a conventional key as a backup in case of a problem with the system. This tool also has the disadvantage that it must always be connected to a power source, but in the event of a power outage, it can use batteries. Some components of this tool will also heat up if it is continuously connected to a power source but can be overcome by using a heatsink or other type of cooler.

Renewable energy now seems to be the most sought after energy source. One of the renewable energy sources that is easy to obtain, endless, and environmentally friendly is solar energy. There are two kinds of technologies that have applying to exploit the potential of solar energy, namely thermal solar energy technology and photovoltaic solar energy technology. In this research, a generator will making that utilizes solar energy as a heat source to produce steam using reflected light from a mirror (reflector). The working principle of this tool is to use solar heat by concentrating sunlight to one point, the heat collected can be used to generate electricity in a conventional way. This technology is known as Concentrating Solar Power (CSP). The heat from this mirror reflected light will heat the water in the boiler to produce steam. The material used in this research is stainless steel because the thermal conductivity value is greater than other types of metal so that it is easier to conduct heat.

Maintenance is an activity or action to maintain and care for equipment to ensure the availability and reliability of the equipment for the stability of the production process. Reach Stacker is one of the lifting equipment that has a very important role in helping port loading and unloading services. This study aims to determine the types of damage to the equipment and also to increase the readiness of technicians or management in handling maintenance on equipment using preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance methods. From the results of the analysis, the damage that often occurs to the reach stacker tool is divided into several main component groups, namely the engine group, electrical group, hydraulic group, drive group, and chassis group. each component to increase the readiness of technicians in dealing with failure or damage problems that occur in the equipment and the port party must quickly take steps or actions in the main maintenance process in replacing spare parts due to failures in equipment components.

Hand washing is a simple activity, but it has enormous effects and benefits for health. Especially in this time of the covid-19 pandemic, we all have to wash our hands. Hand washing tools, both manual and automatic, have their respective roles. For manual hand washing tools, we still use our hands to turn the water faucet. So in the process of making this hand washing tool, we aims to design a hand washing machine with an automatic system and implement the design in the form of a product. From the results of the design of the automatic hand washing tool that we made, namely using a 4x4 hollow iron with a tool height of 145 cm and a width of 55 cm, while this automatic hand washing control system we use 4 components consisting of a proximity sensor, relay, IC 7805, electric water pump and produce a hand washing tool that can help make washing hands easier without having to turn the water faucet, because this tool has used a proximity sensor / motion sensor. Then the results of this design still need to be done further research and development, for example, such as adding a hand dryer in order to optimize performance.

The purpose of this study was to design a clove dryer using an oven. This drying system is with a heat source generated from the heating process using wood waste and to speed up the drying process this machine is assisted with a blower to accelerate the propagation of the heat source throughout the room. To measure the temperature using a temperature of temperature Research on a clove drying device using an oven has been carried out. to measure temperature using temperature. The technique used in this research is the experimental method. The results of the clove drying test have been carried out, the results of the drying of cloves with a time of 180 minutes at a temperature of 81 C° with the results of dry cloves. From the results of the calculation of the temperature on the clove dryer using the oven, it is quite good to use for maximum drying results.

With the development of many industrial warehouses, ranging from warehouses with small capacities to very large indicators, it can become economic and business development in Indonesia. In line with these conditions, the need for tools to increase the size of the large plays an important role in helping the process of moving and arranging the goods produced in the warehouse. The carrier is a set of equipment capable of transferring lifting materials, materials, results, or units of production from one stage of production to another stage of production or from one department to another. This tool is a tool specifically designed to transport, organize and move materials/goods. This tool can also shorten time and make work easier, especially in community businesses such as building shops and grocery store warehouses that require the function of this tool. The manufacture of portable forklifts that are made can facilitate the process of transporting goods from the warehouse to the point of sale. The weight of the goods that can be lifted or transported is 50 kg the lowest and 100 kg the highest according to the capacity of the equipment we make.
