Abstract

Chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is an important horticultural commodity in Bati-Bati District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province; however, its productivity is often constrained by anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum sp., which reduces both yield and fruit quality. Farmers still predominantly rely on chemical fungicides to control this disease, despite the associated risks of hazardous residues and environmental pollution. In addition, agricultural waste such as pineapple peels has not been optimally utilized as a source of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of the Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Bentok Darat Village through training on the production of liquid organic fertilizer derived from pineapple peels and the application of Trichoderma sp. as a biological control agent against anthracnose disease. The methods employed included counseling sessions, demonstrations of LOF preparation, practical application of Trichoderma sp., and monitoring and evaluation using questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively based on observations and questionnaire responses to assess participants’ levels of understanding and acceptance before and after the activity. The results indicated a significant increase in participants’ knowledge and acceptance. Prior to the activity, participants’ understanding of LOF and Trichoderma sp. was low, at 36% and 0%, respectively. Following the activity, 100% of respondents agreed with the implementation of the introduced technologies and expressed willingness to apply them independently. Overall, this activity was effective in enhancing the capacity of the Women Farmers Group and promoting the sustainable adoption of appropriate agricultural technologies.

Abstract

Collaboration between teachers and parents plays an important role in the successful implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for children with disabilities. However, IEP implementation still faces several challenges, including inconsistent communication, differences in perceptions regarding children’s needs, and limited understanding of appropriate learning strategies. Preliminary observations conducted at Al-Firdaus Cahaya Inklusi School in Malang revealed that teachers and parents did not yet have a structured collaborative forum for planning and implementing IEPs. This activity aimed to improve teachers’ and parents’ understanding and collaborative skills in implementing Individualized Education Programs through a collaborative training program. The study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design using a mixed-methods approach. The participants consisted of 20 individuals, including 10 teachers and 10 parents of children with disabilities. Quantitative data were collected through pretests and posttests, while qualitative data were obtained through direct observation during the training activities. The results showed an average improvement of 30% in participants’ scores. The highest increase was found in understanding collaboration concepts in IEP implementation (40%), followed by collaborative skills (35%) and understanding the characteristics of children with disabilities (15%). Observation findings also indicated that teachers and parents were able to collaboratively identify children’s needs, formulate learning objectives, and agree on program implementation strategies. Therefore, the collaborative training program was effective in improving teacher-parent collaboration in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs for children with disabilities.

Abstract

Islamic competitions in Ujung Negeri Kahan Village serve as an important social space for the formation of children's religious identity through participatory experiences and community interactions. This study aims to describe the role of Islamic competitions in shaping children's religious identity within the context of village life. The study used a qualitative approach using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques with child participants, their parents, and activity facilitators. The results indicate that Islamic competitions serve as a medium for internalizing religious values, strengthening self-confidence, discipline, and pride in religious identity. Community support provides social reinforcement that associates children's religious practices with positive experiences. This activity demonstrates that community-based religious education can be an effective cultural mechanism for instilling religious character in children in a contextual and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia face serious challenges in marketing and operational management in the digital age. Dimsum Cukikana, a culinary business located in Parongpong, West Bandung Regency, faces similar issues, namely unstructured order management due to the use of personal WhatsApp accounts mixed with personal conversations, the lack of a digital product catalog, and a scarcity of physical promotional materials capable of attracting potential customers in the vicinity of the business. These conditions have resulted in low business visibility and inefficient customer service processes. This community service initiative aims to improve the effectiveness of Dimsum Cukikana’s promotions and order management through the implementation of WhatsApp Business and the provision of promotional banners. The implementation method was carried out in stages, including field studies and in-depth interviews with the business owner to identify needs, followed by the application of digital solutions such as creating a WhatsApp Business account, setting up a product catalog and automated messaging features, as well as the creation and installation of promotional banners. The analysis technique used was qualitative descriptive analysis based on direct observations and a comparison of conditions before and after the implementation of the solutions. The results of the initiative show that using WhatsApp Business successfully separates business communications from personal accounts, makes it easier for customers to access menu and pricing information via the catalog feature, and streamlines the ordering process. The installation of promotional banners featuring signature menu items and the WhatsApp Business number increased the business’s visibility and made it easier for potential customers to get in touch. During the observation period, there was a 10% daily increase in the number of customers placing orders via WhatsApp Business.

Abstract

Students mental health in the post-Covid-19 pandemic period has become an increasingly important issue due to the rising risk of psychological disorders, while mental health and rehabilitation services continue to face various challenges, including a shortage of professional personnel, limited outreach efforts, and unequal access to available services. This study aims to analyze the implementation of mental rehabilitation and mental health service programs for students administered by the Riau Provincial Health Office and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting their implementation. This research employed a qualitative method using a literature review approach. The study utilized secondary data obtained from official documents, reports, policies, and publications issued by the Riau Provincial Health Office, as well as relevant academic literature. Data were analyzed using a descriptive analysis technique to describe program implementation, assess its effectiveness, and identify the barriers and supporting factors influencing the success of mental rehabilitation and mental health programs for students in the post-pandemic period. The findings indicate that mental health services for students have been implemented through various rehabilitation and mental health education programs; however, their effectiveness remains suboptimal due to limited professional human resources, inadequate public outreach, and unequal service accessibility. On the other hand, the utilization of digital technology, improvement of mental health literacy, and strengthened cross-sector collaboration represent strategic factors with significant potential to enhance accessibility, service quality, and the effectiveness of mental rehabilitation. Therefore, strengthening interagency partnerships and developing integrated, systematic, and sustainable mental health programs are essential to support students' psychological recovery and well-being in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

This study aims to assist Alfi Barkah Fried Chicken MSMEs in implementing a digital payment system through the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) to improve transaction efficiency and business financial management. Prior to the use of QRIS, the only payment methods available were cash and bank transfers, which still required manual payment verification and were not connected to an automatic transaction recording system. This situation made the transaction process impractical and made it difficult for business owners to accurately monitor cash receipts. The methods used in this activity included interviews, training, and assistance in the process of creating and using QRIS in business operations. The evaluation was carried out by comparing the conditions before and after the implementation of the digital payment system. The results of the activity show that the use of QRIS can speed up the payment process, facilitate transaction monitoring, and make financial records more structured. In addition, after the implementation of QRIS, there was an increase in daily income of around 20%. This shows that QRIS plays an important role in supporting the digitization of transactions and the development of MSME businesses.

Abstract

The Rumah Bahagia Bintan nursing home, established in 2007 in Bintan Regency, is experiencing motor and memory problems. This study investigates methods to address these issues in the elderly. To understand the elderly's problems, such as difficulty walking, balance, and memory loss due to aging, the researchers used a qualitative descriptive approach through documentation, interviews, and observation. The purpose of this study was to identify the types of motor and memory difficulties in the elderly, and to develop and evaluate interventions that could improve motor and cognitive abilities at Rumah Bahagia Bintan. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through direct observation, comprehensive interviews with the caretaker and elderly at the home, and documentation of daily activities. Furthermore, this study examined the use of simple exercise programs as interventions, such as elderly gymnastics, group activity therapy, and memory-enhancing games. To gain a better understanding of the changes occurring in the elderly, the data analysis technique used was thematic analysis. The results showed that routine interventions can improve the elderly's motor skills, such as balance and coordination, and also improve their short-term memory. Elderly individuals who consistently participated in the program demonstrated the ability to perform daily activities independently. In addition, being involved in group activities that involve social interaction also helps the psychological condition of the elderly, helping them to become more active, more confident, and have a better quality of life.

Abstract

Many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) still face fundamental problems in business financial management, including low financial literacy, lack of discipline in recording transactions, the absence of separation between personal and business finances, and weak budgeting practices. These issues result in uncontrolled cash flow, difficulties in accurately measuring profits, increased risk of financial loss, and obstacles to sustainable business stability and growth. This community service activity aims to improve the understanding, capabilities, and skills of business actors in managing business finances intelligently, effectively, and systematically so that businesses can remain profitable, survive economic challenges, and grow sustainably amid increasingly complex business competition. The method used in this service program was a descriptive educational approach through counseling, training, and mentoring for MSME actors, employing qualitative analysis techniques on the implementation of financial management strategies, including routine financial recording, cash flow management, budgeting, expenditure evaluation, and the utilization of digital financial technology as a supporting tool for efficiency and accuracy in business management. The results of the service activity indicate that the implementation of proper financial management strategies can improve operational efficiency, strengthen financial control, support more rational business decision-making, reduce the risk of losses, and encourage increased profitability and sustainable business growth. Therefore, intelligent business financial management is an essential factor in maintaining long-term business stability and success.

Abstract

Halal certification is an important instrument to ensure product compliance with Islamic law, provide consumer protection, and increase the competitiveness of micro and small enterprises (MSEs). However, the literacy level of the community in Karang Gading Village, Secanggang District, regarding halal certification is still relatively low. This condition results in most food business actors not having halal certification and do not understand the application procedures, potentially hindering market access and consumer trust in their products. This community service activity aims to increase the understanding, awareness, and readiness of the community, especially MSEs, in managing halal certification and encourage compliance with Halal Product Guarantee regulations. The method used is an educational-participatory approach through preparation stages, material preparation, outreach seminars, interactive discussions, guidance on halal certificate registration procedures, and activity evaluation. The activity was attended by 22 participants consisting of MSEs, village officials, students, and community representatives. The analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis based on the results of observations, discussions, participant participation, and feedback obtained during the activity. The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in participants' understanding of the halal concept, the benefits of halal certification, administrative requirements, and the stages of applying for halal certification. The participants' enthusiasm was evident in the high level of participation in the discussion and consultation sessions. Furthermore, most participants expressed their commitment to immediately applying for halal certification for their products. This activity contributes to improving regulatory compliance, strengthening consumer trust, and supporting local economic development by increasing the competitiveness of MSE products.

Abstract

This study discusses the limited academic documentation of the Jami Jobang folklore as part of the randai tradition in Bukik Gadang, Talawi, Sawahlunto. The purpose of this study is to describe the history and content of the Jami Jobang story, analyze its transformation into randai performance, and identify the cultural values contained in the story. This study used a descriptive-participatory method through manuscript study, field observation, documentation, and visits to a burial site related to the Jami Jobang story. The data were analyzed descriptively by identifying cultural themes, story structure, character roles, traditional values, moral values, social values, and elements of randai performance. The results show that Jami Jobang is part of the collective memory of the Talawi community and contains adat, moral, religious, social, educational, and preservation values. The randai script includes important performance elements such as galombang anak randai, dendang, dialogue, and legaran. This study also shows that KKN students can actively contribute to local cultural preservation through documentation, manuscript study, field observation, and strengthening community cultural literacy.
