Abstract

The main problem addressed in this activity is the lack of proper documentation of the local story of Jami Jobang, which is still preserved in the collective memory of the Bukik Gadang community, Talawi District, Sawahlunto City, and has not been optimally introduced to younger generations. This activity aims to analyze the history of Jami Jobang as a local story, identify the cultural values contained in it, and explain its adaptation into a community randai performance as an effort to preserve oral tradition. The method used in this activity is a descriptive-participatory method through randai script study, field observation, documentation, informal interviews with the community, and a visit to the burial site of one figure related to the Jami Jobang story. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis by interpreting field data, community narratives, documentation, and elements of the randai performance to discover the historical meaning and cultural values contained in the story. The results show that Jami Jobang is not only a tragic folk story but also a cultural narrative containing customary, moral, religious, social, and educational values. The adaptation of Jami Jobang into randai shows that traditional performing arts can serve as a medium for preserving local history, transmitting cultural values, and strengthening the identity of the Bukik Gadang community.

Abstract

This study examines how the social services of lingga regency assist people with disabilities through social rehabilitation programs and the provision of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, canes, antidecubitus mattresses, and hearing aids. To understand the process of providing assistance and the types of support given, this study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by collecting data from news, official documents, regulations, and interviews with relevant parties. The study shows that the social services regularly distribute hundreds of assistive devices to almost all sub-disrticts in lingga regency and collaborate with various groups to improve the mobility, independence, and quality of life of people with disabilities. To make people with disabilities more empowered socially and economically, the social services promote inclusive policies, cooperate with village govemments and private parties, and provide skills training in addition to physical assistance. This study concludes that the role of the social services agency is quite significant in assisting the social integration of people with disabilities, but there is still a need to strengthen empowerment programs and expand access to services in the future.

Abstract

Limited economic opportunities and the need for sustainable community-based empowerment remain important challenges in strengthening financial independence and social resilience, particularly in rural communities. Productive economic activities integrated with religious values can become an alternative approach to improving community welfare while strengthening social and spiritual development. This community service program aims to describe and analyze economic empowerment through oyster mushroom cultivation as a medium of da'wah (Islamic outreach) in Mekarmanik Village. The program employed a participatory and collaborative approach involving preliminary surveys, socialization, technical training, mentoring, and evaluation activities. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results show that the program improved participants’ knowledge and skills in oyster mushroom cultivation, including baglog preparation, maintenance, harvesting, and basic marketing practices. The activity also contributed to economic empowerment by creating additional income opportunities and strengthening cooperation among community members. Furthermore, the integration of cultivation activities with religious guidance encouraged greater participation in worship activities, Islamic learning groups, and the development of values such as discipline, responsibility, and social solidarity. These findings indicate that oyster mushroom cultivation can function not only as an economic empowerment strategy but also as a transformative da'wah medium that supports community independence and spiritual development.

Abstract

Kesehatan spiritual masyarakat pedesaan masih belum memperoleh perhatian yang optimal, padahal aspek ini berperan penting dalam menjaga ketenangan batin, kualitas tidur, serta keseimbangan psikofisik individu. Hasil pra-survei selama tiga bulan kegiatan magang di Griya Sehat Syafaat 99 menunjukkan bahwa sebagian warga Desa Talangsari Gajah Mungkur mengalami kecemasan ringan, ketegangan otot, gangguan kualitas tidur, serta keterbatasan pemahaman mengenai praktik dzikir terapeutik dan akupresur sebagai upaya pengelolaan kesehatan secara mandiri. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan spiritual masyarakat pedesaan melalui penerapan pendekatan Tasawuf Healing dengan mengintegrasikan terapi dzikir dan akupresur sebagai metode penyembuhan komplementer yang sederhana dan mudah dipraktikkan secara mandiri. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan edukatif dan partisipatif yang melibatkan lima orang peserta. Rangkaian kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi mengenai kesehatan spiritual, pelatihan dzikir pernapasan dan relaksasi, pelatihan teknik akupresur pada titik-titik stres, pendampingan langsung selama praktik, serta evaluasi untuk menilai perubahan kondisi fisik dan psikospiritual peserta. Teknik analisis yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan hasil observasi, umpan balik peserta, dan evaluasi pascakegiatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta (100%) mengalami perbaikan kondisi fisik dan psikospiritual, yang ditandai dengan berkurangnya keluhan ketegangan tubuh, meningkatnya kualitas relaksasi, rasa tenang, nyaman, serta peningkatan kesadaran spiritual. Dengan demikian, pendekatan Tasawuf Healing terbukti efektif dalam mendukung peningkatan kesejahteraan holistik masyarakat pedesaan.

Abstract

Currently, the teachers at the Guidance Center/ Sanggar Bimbingan (SB) in Malaysia play a crucial role in educating the intelligent and characterful children of Indonesian migrant workers/ Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI). However, teachers there, like those at SB AT-Tanzil, currently face various challenges and issues, including limited basic teaching competencies that effectively align with the independent curriculum, as well as a number of moral issues amidst the challenges of living abroad with PMI. Therefore the international partnership-community service program (IP-CSP) aims to enhance the professionalism of skilled Indonesian teachers with Islamic character in Malaysia. This community service program used a method of disseminating knowledge and information through the diffusion of science and technology related to the eight basic teaching skills according to Turney (1973) and character education based on Al-Islam & Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) values to teachers at the SB  AT-Tanzil, Malaysia. The IP-CSP program is implemented through several stages, including preparation, implementation, and reporting. The results of this IP-CSP are more effective teacher professional development and the development of more positive personal attitudes through an experiential learning approach, as an effort to realize the profile of a 21st-century teacher. An important implication of this activity is that it provides empirical and meaningful experience for Indonesian teachers in Malaysia and Indonesian students in implementing community service program with international partner institutions.

Abstract

Percepatan digitalisasi pascapandemi COVID-19 menuntut pelaku usaha untuk beradaptasi dengan strategi pemasaran berbasis digital. Namun, sebagian besar pelaku UMKM di Kelurahan Tanah Pak Lambik masih mengandalkan metode pemasaran konvensional. Rendahnya literasi dan keterampilan digital menyebabkan pemanfaatan media sosial dan platform digital sebagai sarana promosi belum dilakukan secara optimal. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi dan keterampilan digital masyarakat, khususnya pelaku UMKM di Kelurahan Tanah Pak Lambik dan membekali peserta dengan pemahaman dan kemampuan praktis dalam penerapan digital marketing berbasis media sosial. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dan aplikatif melalui workshop interaktif. Pelaksanaan kegiatan didukung dengan pemanfaatan aplikasi Canva, CapCut, dan Adobe Premiere Clip sebagai media praktik pembuatan konten promosi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta workshop mengalami peningkatan pemahaman terhadap konsep dan strategi digital marketing. Selain itu, peserta mampu memproduksi konten promosi visual berupa foto dan video menggunakan perangkat sederhana, dan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan dalam pengelolaan akun bisnis dan pemanfaatan fitur insight dan analytics pada media sosial.

Abstract

Aggressive behavior in school-age children is a problem that can hinder their development and create a less conducive learning environment. This community service program aims to reduce the tendency for aggressive behavior in school-age children and increase the understanding of volunteer teachers as a support system through a psychoeducational approach. Activities were conducted with school-age children and volunteer teachers using lectures, educational games, video screenings, case studies, role-plays, reflections, and tutorials on implementing reward systems. Evaluation was conducted using quantitative and qualitative approaches through pre- and post-tests, as well as observations during the activity. The analysis revealed a significant difference between pre- and post-test scores for both children and volunteer teachers, with a large effect size. Qualitative findings also demonstrated changes in children's responses to more adaptive emotional expression. Thus, psychoeducation involving children and volunteer teachers has proven effective in preventing and addressing aggressive behavior in community learning environments.

Abstract

Corn commodity farmers in Bentok Darat village, Bati-Bati District, experienced several problems caused by pest attacks, such as caterpillar and grasshopper, downy mildew and root rot. The control that is usually carried out by the community was the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides that are harmful and not environmentally friendly. Dependence on chemicals is due to the quality assurance of being effective and efficient in controlling problems, but it is dangerous in the long term. This community service activity aims to provide education and assistance about the importance of PGPR and its benefits in increasing growth and protecting the roots of corn plants so that they are not easily attacked by soil-borne diseases, so that dependence on chemicals can be reduced, and the sustainability of the ecosystem can be maintained. The methods used in this community service activity include training and field practice which is carried out in five stages, namely socialization of PGPR biological agent material, demonstration of PGPR product manufacturing, application in corn plantations, observation and evaluation. The activity involved active members of the Sukamaju farmer group who carry out corn commodity cultivation farming business in Bentok Darat Village. The results of field applications show that corn plants applied with PGPR have healthier growth conditions and are not susceptible to disease. These good results make farmers eager to implement PGPR in their farming activities, so that it can reduce farming costs while increasing production and maintaining the sustainability of the agricultural ecosystem.

Abstract

The main problems faced by the congregation are limited entrepreneurial skills and the underutilization of creative economic opportunities based on environmentally friendly products, resulting in low additional household income. This community service program aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and economic independence of congregation members through training in the production of environmentally friendly liquid soap with market value. The program was conducted using a participatory training method, including counseling, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. Qualitative descriptive analysis was applied by comparing participants’ knowledge and skills before and after the training and evaluating the products produced. The results show an increase in participants’ understanding of materials and production processes, as well as their ability to produce liquid soap suitable for use and commercialization. Overall, the training has strong potential to support creative economic development and sustainably improve the welfare of the congregation. This initiative encourages long-term entrepreneurship and environmental awareness among participants.

Abstract

Community dependence on automotive workshops to handle minor problems in four-wheeled vehicles, particularly car air conditioning (AC) systems, often leads to relatively high maintenance costs and delays in addressing early-stage damage. Preliminary observations in Bambu Apus Village, Pamulang, revealed that most residents own four-wheeled vehicles but have limited knowledge and skills in performing light maintenance independently. Common problems include reduced cooling performance, unpleasant odors, and decreased driving comfort, which could actually be prevented through simple and proper maintenance procedures. This Community Service Program aims to improve community understanding and practical skills in performing light maintenance of four-wheeled vehicle AC systems independently, safely, and correctly, thereby reducing dependence on workshops and improving vehicle comfort and safety. The program applied a participatory training method based on the autonomous maintenance approach. Activities were conducted through several stages, including a preliminary survey, material socialization, technical demonstrations, and hands-on practice. Program effectiveness was evaluated using pre-test and post-test questionnaires, as well as direct observation of participants’ practical skills during field practice sessions. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of the main components and working principles of car AC systems, recognition of early signs of minor damage, and ability to perform basic inspections and light maintenance independently. Participants also demonstrated increased awareness of occupational safety and health (OSH) aspects during vehicle maintenance activities. This program contributes to strengthening community self-reliance in vehicle maintenance and provides a sustainable technical training model at the community level.
