Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a cornerstone of Indonesia's economy, contributing 60.5% to the national GDP and employing 97% of the workforce. However, MSMEs face challenges such as low financial literacy and limited adoption of digital technologies, which hinder their competitiveness in the global market. This study explores the synergistic role of financial literacy and digital transformation in enhancing MSME performance and competitiveness. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and policy document analysis. The findings reveal that the average financial literacy level among MSME actors in Indonesia is only 38%, leading to poor financial management and limited access to formal financing. On the other hand, only 16% of MSMEs have integrated digital technologies into their operations, with those who did reporting significant improvements in efficiency and revenue. The integration of financial literacy with digital tools was found to have a multiplier effect, enabling better resource management, improved decision-making, and enhanced market competitiveness. This study highlights the importance of targeted policies to combine financial literacy training with digital technology adoption. By addressing challenges such as infrastructure limitations and resistance to change, stakeholders can foster inclusive economic growth and empower MSMEs to thrive in the digital economy.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and increasingly intense competition, the management of Human Resources (HR) has become a crucial factor for ensuring company sustainability and growth. This study aims to explore the impact of HR optimization on a company's financial health using a qualitative approach. Employing a case study methodology, the research analyzes companies that have successfully implemented effective HR strategies, including employee development, competitive compensation policies, performance management, and wellness programs. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with HR managers, executives, and employees, as well as internal document analysis and direct workplace observation. The findings indicate that effective HR practices can reduce costs, enhance productivity, and lower turnover rates, all contributing to improved financial performance. The results support Wright and McMahan's (2011) theory that effective HR management acts as an enabler for achieving competitive advantage. The study also aligns with Huselid’s (1995) research, which highlights the importance of competitive compensation policies in boosting productivity and financial health. This research underscores the significance of aligning HR strategies with financial goals and adopting best practices in HR management to improve operational efficiency and achieve sustainable financial objectives.

This study aims to explore organizational adaptation strategies in facing the integration of AI in SHRM after 2024. Using the Scoping Review method, this study identifies key trends, challenges, and best strategies in implementing AI in HR management. The review results show that AI improves efficiency in recruitment, performance evaluation, and employee skills development, but also presents ethical challenges such as algorithmic bias and personal data protection. In addition, companies that are successful in adopting AI implement reskilling and upskilling strategies to ensure workforce readiness. Abstract

Online marketing is one of the main strategies in increasing business income, including for traditional market traders in South Sulawesi. Although internet penetration in Indonesia, especially in South Sulawesi, continues to grow, many traditional market traders have not utilized digital potential to market their products. This study aims to explore online marketing activities implemented by traditional market traders in Gowa Regency, as well as to analyze their influence on increasing income and the factors that influence their success. Based on literature studies, the use of social media and e-commerce platforms has been shown to increase product visibility and attract more consumers, which in turn can increase sales. However, the adoption of digital technology among traditional market traders is still limited, mainly due to the lack of skills in managing social media accounts and digital platforms. This study uses a qualitative approach with interviews and observation methods of traders in traditional markets in Gowa Regency. The results of the study show that online marketing has a positive influence on increasing trader income, but the level of adoption varies based on factors such as age, education, and business experience. Therefore, digital marketing training and support from the government and trader associations are needed to accelerate the adoption of this technology. This study is expected to provide recommendations for the development of more effective digital marketing strategies for traditional market traders in South Sulawesi, in order to increase competitiveness and strengthen the local economy.

Abstract

Coastal tourism plays a crucial role in Indonesia’s economic growth, particularly in enhancing local community welfare. This study aims to analyze effective strategies for developing coastal tourism to improve the community’s economy. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis in selected coastal tourism areas. The findings reveal that sustainable tourism development, community empowerment, and digital marketing adoption significantly contribute to economic improvement. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, environmental degradation, and policy inconsistencies hinder optimal development. The study suggests a collaborative approach involving government, local communities, and private sectors to establish sustainable and inclusive coastal tourism strategies. Strengthening infrastructure, promoting eco-tourism, and enhancing digital tourism platforms are recommended to maximize economic benefits. These findings provide insights for policymakers and stakeholders to formulate more effective coastal tourism policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

The problem of national food security is something that needs to be addressed sustainably by society and the government, especially in rural areas. To support food availability for the community, land is needed that can be used for food development. One alternative is to use the yard of the house. Home gardens not only function as areas that provide beauty and coolness, but also as productive land that supports national food security by empowering local potential, both in rural and urban areas. Apart from that, the use of the yard also contributes to improving the family's economy. This research aims to examine the characteristics of residents regarding the use of homestead land in rural areas, analyze their utilization patterns, and assess the effectiveness of using homestead land in supporting food availability. The data in this research were analyzed using an experimental method, which involved initial measurements (pre-test), providing treatment in the form of guidance or direction regarding land use, and follow-up measurements (post-test). The research sample was selected using the snowball sampling method, namely a sampling technique based on individual networks. The research results show that the use of yard land is effective in supporting food availability. This is shown by the respondent's answer score on the program effectiveness variable, which is in the range of 50-100%, so it is included in the effective category

Abstract

This study investigates the role of technology management in human resource management (HRM) within start-up companies in Indonesia. Focusing on start-ups that have been operating for at least three years and employ a minimum of 20 personnel, the research utilizes a qualitative descriptive approach. Primary data was collected through in-depth interviews with HR managers, company executives, and employees, while secondary data was sourced from company documents and participatory observation. The findings show that the adoption of technology, particularly Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS), has improved HR processes, including recruitment, training, and performance management. However, challenges remain, such as digital literacy issues, cost constraints, and the misalignment of technology with organizational culture. While technology enhances operational efficiency, it cannot replace essential face-to-face interactions that contribute to a strong organizational culture. The study suggests that start-ups must customize technology solutions to better align with their specific needs and culture. This research provides valuable insights into the integration of technology in HRM and offers recommendations for overcoming the challenges start-ups face in leveraging technology effectively
