Abstract

The importance of using computer networks in campus laboratories to improve the quality of education and research is also increasing. However, there are problems found in the use of computer networks in campus laboratories, namely low data transmission speeds, network insecurity and inaccessible resources. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the factors that influence the performance of computer networks in campus laboratories, including data transmission speed. Computer networks evolved from point-to-point communication to computers connecting to each other and exchanging information. The research methodology involves experimental data being tested, for example the effect of communication speed on computer network performance in campus laboratories.

Abstract

Medical waste management is essential to the hospital's operational activities. Health workers are needed to manage medical waste in hospitals because they are in direct contact with it. Therefore, the behaviour of health workers plays a vital role in medical waste management. This study determined the relation of knowledge, awareness, interest, and attitude of health workers on medical waste management practices at Sinar Kasih Purwokerto Hospital, Indonesia. In addition, this study also aims to determine the attitude of health workers in mediating the relation of knowledge, awareness, and interest in medical waste management practices at Sinar Kasih Purwokerto Hospital, Indonesia. The sampling method was cluster random sampling with 68 health workers: general practitioners, dentists, specialists, nurses, sanitisers, and public workers (PW). The data collection tool uses a questionnaire tested for reliability and validity to determine the level of knowledge, awareness, interest, attitude, and practice of medical waste management. Data analysis in this study used Partial Least Square (PLS) testing. This study showed that knowledge and interest had no significant positive effect on medical waste management practices. In contrast, awareness and attitude significantly positively impacted medical waste management practices. In addition, the attitude of health workers mediates the effect of knowledge and interest on medical waste management practices. However, attitude does not mediate the impact of awareness on medical waste management practices. The attitude of health workers is a mediator of knowledge and interest toward medical waste management practices.

Abstract

UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has implemented policies related to simplifying organizational structures by Regulation Manteri Utilization State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform number 25 of 2021 concerning Simplification of Organizational Structures in Institutions. According to Charles O Jones, the success of policy implementation can be seen from 3 things, namely: (1) Organization, (2) Interpretation, and (3) Application. From the results of existing secondary data analysis, the implementation of policies related to simplifying the organizational structure has been carried out well where, in terms of organization, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah has made structural adjustments by eliminating echelon III and IV administrative positions, transferring them to functional positions. Apart from that, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has also implemented a working team as a result of the simplification of the structure, where the working team was formed to achieve certain activity targets. In terms of interpretation, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has also implemented strategic steps in implementing the structure simplification policy, namely: (1) mapping of organizational units, (2) submitting mapping results to leadership and (3) verification and validation of mapping. If the implementation of the structure simplification policy was carried out after the Regulation of the Minister of Religion was issued, there was a change in the organizational structure which was followed by the elimination of echelon III and IV administrative officials into functional positions and the formation of work teams to support the achievement of organizational performance. In its implementation, there are still obstacles where the functional position groups resulting from the equalization have not been able to carry out their functions optimally because they require time to adjust to the duties and functions of their new positions and the competency standards that should be possessed by functional officials have not been met. Increasing competency for functional officials as a result of equalization should be a common concern to improve organizational performance.

Abstract

The birth of the new Criminal Code brought nuances of renewal in the world of justice in Indonesia. However, it also caused upheaval and differences of opinion regarding regulating several aspects of criminal law, including regulating Criminal Acts Against the Judicial Process (Contempt of Court). The regulation of Contempt of Court actions in the new Criminal Code raises pros and cons in society, including advocates who often intersect with the judicial world. The existence of several articles regulating multi-interpretive contempt of court actions is considered to threaten the existence of the Advocate's Right to Immunity in Court. This study aims to analyze the regulation of the Contempt of Court criminal acts regarding the right to immunity of advocates in Court. The research method used is normative legal research using an analytical descriptive approach. This study found that the articles of Contempt of Court in the new Criminal Code, which are multi-interpretive, can limit the space for advocates to express opinions and defend themselves before the court. If these articles are not interpreted properly and correctly, they can become a medium for criminalization by specific individuals against advocates in court.
