Abstract

Sports performance management is increasingly essential for national sports organizations because it aims to control the business with stakeholder goals and satisfaction. This is especially true in the increasingly competitive football business. Some previous studies have suggested that football clubs need an essential element of effective management to excel in this competitive environment. Management of football clubs is necessary to meet the expectations of various stakeholder groups. Other previous studies generally agree that management processes enable effective management of individuals and teams to improve the level of performance in an organization. The Institute of Personnel Management (1992) also noted that performance management is a strategy that engages organizations through staffing policies, cultures, styles, and communication systems developed for different activities. An important role that performance management plays in improving strategic synergy. This study provides an overview of sports performance management methods commonly used by English football clubs and a detailed analysis of the numerous performance measurement methods and obstacles that affect the effectiveness of governmental sports organizations. A systematic evaluation of the studies was used as one of the analyses methods. Recent research is evaluated critically. Take, for instance, the English Football Association. It looks at various aspects of performance measurement methods being used proficiently in performance management in the public sports industry and an overview of the challenges affecting sports organizations' performance. The study presents the definition of sports performance management the background of Organization A. It Outlines common methods of sports performance management, different performance measurement techniques, and the challenges that affect the performance of sports organizations. The results show that the sports performance management and measurement of non-profit sports organizations is necessary to support non-profit sports organizations about their future development. The limitations in the study were also included. (1) Sports performance management methods and performance measurement techniques need to be studied. (2) Available information publicly for football clubs to provide enough detailed organizational performance challenges. (3) More questionnaires or interviews are needed in future studies.

Abstract

The latest competition rules of taekwondo expand the score of turning technique and encourage athletes to use difficult techniques to increase the diversity of techniques and the appreciation of competitions. This paper obtains the characteristics of important action links of scoring technology from two aspects of technical and tactical application and technical action analysis. Back kick scoring technology mostly appears in the tactical state, is an important means of scoring. From the point of view of time characteristics, the speed of the back kick technique in the turning stage becomes the key to successful application, and there are major defensive hidden dangers in the kick reduction stage. The hip joint angle on one side of kicking leg of the kick scoring technique is less than that of the non- scoring technique in the knee lifting stage and the knee joint angle in the turning stage, and the knee joint angle of the non- scoring technique is less than that of the scoring technique in the knee lifting stage and kicking stage. Insufficient extension is an important factor that cannot score.

Abstract

A systematic review was conducted to investigate the literature on the effectiveness of comprehensive life skills programs. Life skills development has been linked to participation in sports in general, as well as volleyball and other physical activities that will be tried in Indonesia. This is aimed at encouraging the positive development of young people so that they have better opportunities for quality living in the future. This can happen when the coaches understand correctly how life skills are integrated structurally and intentionally in the process of volleyball training for the positive development of young people. This article will discuss matters relating to the types of environments that trainers need to create so that players can develop life skills, form a formal training process for trainers, and finally practice as well as experimentation on how life skills are integrated into volleyball training. The results of this experiment will be a further study to find out the special features of life skills integration that are integrated in a structured and intentional manner compared to unintentional structured and with no involvement at all in the context of positive development of young people.

Abstract

Elite sports success is identified as the leveling of the coaching system and the development of superior sports capable of winning in international competitions. In Indonesia, there is a coaching and development system of elite athletes (SKN Law No. 3 of 2005) which was adapted, is based on: a) developing elite facilities; b) providing funding for elite sports; c) providing training and sports science; and d) providing participation opportunities centered (Pelatnas) on international match planning. The novelty of this qualitative study is that it uses the pillars of success to measure medal achievement. Academics, professional athletes, and coaches were participants in this case study, which used observation, interviews, and record analysis for data collection. The aim of this research is to identify and analyze the key factors that influence the success of Indonesia's elite sports policy. The result of this report are the highest accomplishments at the 2018 Asian Games by successfully winning medals: 31 gold (14 gold from Pencak Silat), 24 silver, and 43 bronze, placing us in 4th position out of 45 Asian nations. Meanwhile, the findings of this study show that the achievement of coaching and development of elite sports at the 2018 Asian Games (Presidential Decree No. 95 of 2017) is managed systematically, professionally, and becomes a collective commitment that involves all of the nation's potential and power in improving the quality of elite sports achievements.

Abstract

Socio-economic background (SEB) is one of the factors that cause bullying in schools. Several studies have shown learning life skills (LS) to deal with these issues. This study aims to examine the impact of SEB on LS in sports and non-sports students. The sample of this study was 109 students (sports students = 57 and non-sports students = 55) with an age range of 19-21 years who were students of the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Sampling was taken by the intake class method—data collection using the LSSS (Life Skills Scale for Sports) instrument. The research is a comparative causal method with test analysis using the Independent Sample T-Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test, and One-way ANOVA. The results of this study show a significant difference between the life skills of sports and non-sports students (F = 0.138, p = 0.031). There is a significant difference between sports and non-sports students' LS based on socio-economic status (lower class, middle class, and upper class), with p = 0.000 for sports students and p = 0.028 for non-sports students. This study reveals that the LS of sports students is higher than non-sports students.

Abstract

Walking Football for Health (WaF4H) Asia is a new movement that exemplifies what the United Nations refers to as sport for development and peace – i.e., programs that use a common community interest in sporting activities to leverage positive change in non-sport development goals. WaF4H Asia is a communities-crossing- countries health empowerment movement. While WaF4H Asia has general goals of impacting the physical, mental, and social well-being of its participants by playing walking football, there is also a steady emphasis on communication and bonding within families and between community members, as well as inclusivity of all who are willing and able to play. To help evaluate the potential impact that playing walking football may have on the WaF4H Asia goals, a quantitative research team was formed. This paper describes the first three international research projects performed by this team that were focused on evaluating the physiological intensity of match play walking football for middle-aged and older adults. The team took advantage of modern electronic monitoring equipment and convenience sampling to determine measures of metabolic, cardiovascular, and walking intensity for entire teams competing in tournaments across the world (Singapore, London, and Perth). The results from these studies consistently showed that measures of both metabolic and cardiovascular intensity exceeded established thresholds (3.0 METs and 65% HRMAX, respectively) that are equivalent to a moderate physiological intensity. Thus, like many other forms of recreational activity and competitive sports, the intensity of match play walking football is great enough to positively impact measures related to changes in physical, mental, and social well-being in middle-aged and older adults. These quantitative results support the use of walking football by WaF4H Asia to promote development and peace with health and fitness.
