Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the impact of incorporating sport values into a young development training program for soccer. An experiment using a model of quasi-experimental design is the research technique employed. A questionnaire was utilized as the method of data collecting in this study. Purposive sampling was utilized as the sample method. 30 young men between the ages of 15-20 made up the sample, and they were split into three groups: group a received football training with the integration of sport values from 15 youths; group b received soccer training without the integration of sport values from 15 youths. The findings demonstrated that the development of sport values was greater in the soccer training group (group a) that had sport values incorporated into the curriculum than in the soccer training group (group b) that did not. Adolescents' daily lives can benefit from the development of youth sport values, which can be used to help them deal with the demands and difficulties of life while also reaping the advantages of sport values.

Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) account for 74% of all major deaths worldwide. The characteristics of the work with the highest prevalence of NCDs are experienced by formal sector workers. The risk factor for NCD with the highest number in the group of formal workers is low physical activity. This study aimed to compare the impact arising from the intensity of physical activity on formal sector workers in the health and economic sectors based on previous studies. This study employed the method of literature review. The research population includes all articles published in accredited national and international journals between 2018 and 2023 on the impact of physical activity in the health and economic sectors on formal sector workers or office workers. The research sample consists of 11 articles chosen based on inclusion criteria determined by searching the Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Garuda databases. Articles were selected for their suitability of title, full text, and discussion of the impact of physical activity on formal workers. Physical activity has been shown to reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome, hypertension, and lower back pain. Physical activity can also help workers' mental health. Several studies have found that physical activity has no effect on body fitness, risk of coronary heart disease, or worker productivity in the economy. Increasing physical activity in the formal sector, particularly at moderate to severe intensity, has a positive impact on workers' health. There was no significant impact of physical activity on economic improvements.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected the way people think, feel, and do things. In the Philippines, the whole nation experienced the “new normal” ways, such as on the context of education. The Mindanao State University System (MSUS), particularly, created Flexible Learning Options where lectures may be done either: (a) synchronous event where online live lectures through streaming is applied using video conferencing platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet, or (b) asynchronous event where online lecture is prepared using screen recorder apps. Course books and modules were also prepared to be used by the students. The MSU-Marawi Senior High School followed these guidelines in the delivery of teaching-learning experiences. In this study, the problems/challenges, opportunities, and recommendations associated with the delivery of lessons specifically experienced by the Sports Track students were investigated. Based on their first-hand experiences, recommendations straight from the students were also listed. Information such as age, sex, grade level, current location, family monthly income, gadgets used, connectivity used, and average monthly expenses on connectivity were also taken. It was found out that students experienced: (1) Difficulties acclimating to new learning methods and demands, (2) Poor/insufficient internet connection, and (3) Financial constraints. However, because of the pandemic, they were able to have: (1) More family time and bonding, and (2) Self-discovery and self-motivation to learn. They then made recommendations such as: (1) Free internet connectivity and improved internet speed, (2) Sponsored gadgets, (3) Resumption of face-to-face classes, and (4) Consultation and consideration from teachers. Keywords:       problems/challenges, opportunities, recommendations, MSU-MSHS Sports Track students, COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to ascertain the advantages of mental sports and how they might affect the academic performance of the chosen students in Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur, for the 2019-2020 school year. All BPED I to IV students from a chosen Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur institution were enrolled as student participants. The questionnaire checklist served as the primary instrument used by the researcher to collect the necessary data using the descriptive survey approach. Frequency counts, percentages, and weighted arithmetic mean (WAM) were used to evaluate and      interpret      the data collected. The findings indicated that half of the individuals aged 18 to 19 were female and actively participated in mental sports. As a result, neither the participant's gender nor age impacts how well they perform academically in mental sports. Additionally, the study showed that the participants believed practicing mental sports gave them a lot of advantages, and one of those was excellent academic performance. However, no discernible link existed between the students' regular participation in mental sports and academic success.

Abstract

Physical Literacy awareness is a key aspect in understanding and improving students' physical health and fitness. This study investigated the impact of Physical Literacy Awareness in improving students' abdominal muscular endurance in a wetland environment. The study explored how a program focusing on physical literacy, when implemented in a wetland environment, impacted students' abdominal muscular endurance. The research method uses an equivalent time series, namely an experimental method applying a time series design. This method is carried out by carrying out three tests, namely an initial test followed by treatment. The second test continues with the treatment and ends with the third test. The research population as well as the research sample was 133 students. The data analysis technique uses the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test because the data is not normally distributed. Based on the Kruskal-Wallis Test data analysis technique, it shows a significance value of 0.015 0.05, so there is a significant difference. The results can be said that there is a significant difference between test-1, test-2 and test-3 in students. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that physical literacy awareness can increase physical literacy awareness. increase the abdominal muscle strength of students in wetland areas. This study provides valuable insights into the role of Physical Literacy Awareness in improving college students' abdominal muscle endurance. The findings showed that the implementation of the physical literacy awareness program had a significant positive influence on improving abdominal muscle endurance in a wetland environment.
