Abstract

This article investigates the development of children's attitudes and behaviour through the use of sport and physical education learning. By analyzing various related studies, we explore the significant role of sport in shaping character, leadership, cooperation and discipline in children. The literature review method is used to investigate empirical studies, theoretical reviews, and other related concepts in the relevant literature. A PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) design was adapted to identify, screen, and synthesize articles relevant to this topic. The results show that sports and physical education significantly positively impact the development of children's attitudes and behaviour. These findings' practical and theoretical implications are discussed to guide educators and policy makers in strengthening positive aspects of child development.

Abstract

In the research conducted by Thompson et al (2022), there were research limitations in the use of language during the systematic review search process and the time limit criteria were quite long. Considering the many models in sports governance that have been proposed by academics, this research systematically reviews models in sports governance. Research methods: The method used in this research is a systematic literature review. The steps of a systematic literature review consist of review questions, inclusion criteria, search strategy, selection and assessment, extraction, and synthesis. Results and Findings: In total, there are 30 articles spanning the last 3 years which were used as the main source for this research. The results and findings in this research are still in the form of hypotheses, overall a sports governance model that is transparent, accountable, and democratic is found. Implications: The findings obtained highlight the systematic nature of sports governance. In the sports governance process, academics and practitioners have different points of view when implementing it, which causes academics and practitioners to be incompatible. For this reason, researchers in future studies can use a stronger, evidence-based sports governance model so that practitioners can understand it in more detail.

Abstract

Many things can influence the growth and development of teenagers, in this case young people, one of which is in the world of sports. Among them are sports programs that can make changes to the characteristics of youth development for the better, both physically and mentally for themselves or even their social environment. In this effort, the world of sports can be one way to make youth development in a more positive direction. The aim of the research here is focused on comparing the results of journals and articles that the author obtained with the keywords sports program physical education literature review, systematic literature review and positive youth development. This journal search was based on search results on Google Scholar and Taylor Francis, researchers found 5,657 journals that matched these keywords. A total of 418 journals were found to match these keywords exactly, then screening was carried out and 197 journals were found to be excluded because they had the same title and no full text articles were available and 221 journals were produced for abstract screening and the results obtained were 76 journals. 44 journals that were duplicates and did not meet the inclusion criteria were excluded so that 20 full text journals were reviewed. Because this research could not be carried out in the field during the Covid-19 pandemic, a narrative literature review method was carried out using data from 5657 journals that were initially found. Based on the results of the research analysis and the implications of the analysis, there is an influence of sports programs to promote positive youth development in the world of sports. So it is hoped that in the future we will be able to explore other factors that can influence or encourage positive development in young people. and be able to explain more fully the benefits of positive youth development programs.

Abstract

Health and physical fitness are great concern to society today. One way to maintain health and physical fitness is by exercising. Recently, people seem very enthusiastic about exercising. We can see this from the frequent appearance of videos and photos of people’s sports activities on social media. One of the sports that many people do is push-ups. Many people are familiar with the push-up and often do it to train their arm muscles, or compete in endurance competitions between individuals. Even though they are often done, until now push-ups do not have an integrated monitoring tool so that they can become a credible medium for showing them off on social media. This research aims to create a push-up monitoring tool that can display data in real-time. The push-up monitoring tool is made using an ESP32 microcontroller which is equipped with a VL53L0X distance sensor. By using ESPNOW communication, the special communication between ESP microcontrollers, data can be sent from the push-up monitoring device to a receiver connected to a PC where the monitoring application is displayed. On the PC side, the application is designed to display graphs of distance chest to the ground, average height when the arms are straight, and average height when the arms are bent in real-time. These three aspects are important aspects for observing the validity of a push-up. The results of this research underscore the feasibility of the monitoring system in collecting push-up data. In addition, this research serves as a foundation for future research aimed at simplifying the push up monitoring systems.

Abstract

Traditional methods of sports sponsorship have given way to more complex, multidimensional approaches that take advantage of media attention and appeal to the emotional bond that exists between sports and fans. Nevertheless, most previous research has concentrated on developed markets, leaving a knowledge vacuum regarding sponsorship in emerging nations. To close this gap, this study examines sponsorship management from the viewpoints of agencies, sponsees, and sponsors involved in the Turkish sports industry. The study examines how businesses can use sports sponsorship as a strategic marketing tool to increase consumer engagement, brand awareness, and visibility. Important background elements like unstable economies, underdeveloped sports infrastructures, and government intervention are discussed, along with the sponsorship opportunities and challenges they pose. Utilising a qualitative methodology, the study conducts in-depth interviews with significant stakeholders to examine decision-making procedures, crucial success elements, and the quantifiable influence of sponsorships. The results indicate that improving sponsorship effectiveness requires long-term partnerships, stakeholder alignment, and digital engagement. The study adds to the body of knowledge on sponsorship by providing insights into the intricate dynamics of sponsorship management in emerging markets, where political involvement and economic volatility play critical roles.

Abstract

In recent decades, social cohesion has garnered significant attention as a key policy objective, with sport increasingly promoted as a potentially effective, low-cost tool to achieve this goal. Despite its growing popularity, the concept of social cohesion, particularly within the sport for development (SFD), faces substantial criticisms regarding its definition and implementation. A primary concern is the individual-centric approach prevalent in many SFD initiatives, which assumes that improving individual skills and attitudes will naturally translate to broader social cohesion. This approach typically targets marginalized groups such as migrants, refugees, and minorities, expecting these individuals to act as agents of change within their communities. However, this strategy often fails to address the structural and systemic factors that influence or limit social cohesion, placing undue responsibility on vulnerable individuals without sufficient support for long-term community impact. Critiques of this individual focus highlight the need for more participatory and political approaches that engage a broader spectrum of community members and stakeholders. Recent efforts in the SFD sector have begun to explore methodologies like co production, participatory action research, and Living Labs, which involve community members in the design and implementation of programs. These approaches aim to foster sustainable outcomes by addressing community needs and promoting engagement at both community and organizational levels. Moreover, SFD organizations are encouraged to extend their role beyond program implementation to active advocacy for systemic change. By leveraging their insights from community interactions, these organizations can influence policy and advocate for long-term solutions that promote social cohesion. This requires a shift in perspective, recognizing the socio political role that SFD can play in addressing broader societal issues

Abstract

Fabric theory, also known as "process theory", refers to the fact that the society consists of interdependent groups and their interacting network throughout history. The macro society and micro individuals are inseparable. In this paper, the author analyzed the Nobel Elias’s "fabric theory" and the European fox hunting activity. The author shall use references, historical research, logic and other research methods, aiming to figure out the evolution process of civilization that European fox hunting implied. Besides, the author tried to the development of competitive sports and social sports in China. In this paper, through the study of the fabric theory to promote the development of civilization, fox hunting revealed the political violence of the British parliamentary system. Stokevis’s critique of Elias showed that: European civilization has achieved rationality. 2. Based on the fabric theory, China's competitive sports and social sports are the outcome of civilization change. Thus, while reading Elias' representative work ‘The Progress of Civilization’, combined with the study on European fox hunting, we can get insights into the evolution of European civilization through the fabric theory. In addition, owing to civilization development, we may reduce violence in sports, which is conducive to the construction of Chinese social sports and competitive sports tradition. Thus, the research could make contributions to the development of civilization.

Abstract

The youth sports system is a complex ecosystem involving various stakeholders, including coaches, teammates, sports organizations, and parents. Parental involvement should not be viewed in isolation but in relation to other elements within this system. For example, parent-coach interactions can influence the motivational climate, which shapes young athletes' perceptions and behaviors. Moreover, individual factors such as parents’ beliefs and values toward sports impact how they engage in their children’s athletic experiences. Excessive expectations may create pressure and reduce enjoyment, while supportive parenting is linked to greater intrinsic motivation and satisfaction in youth. Adolescents’ developmental stages also play a critical role. As adolescents undergo physical, cognitive, and psychosocial changes, their needs and responses to parental involvement evolve. Older adolescents may seek greater autonomy, requiring parents to adjust their involvement accordingly. This literature review aims to synthesize research on parental involvement in youth sports, considering the dynamic interactions between parents, adolescents, coaches, and sports organizations. By integrating developmental and contextual perspectives, this review seeks to offer a comprehensive understanding of how parental involvement shapes youth sports experiences. The findings are expected to inform best practices that support positive youth development through appropriately tailored parental engagement in sports.
