A company's worth is a key metric for maintaining its competitiveness in the face of fierce industry rivalry. The purpose of this study is to examine how firm value is impacted by environmental costs, environmental disclosure, environmental performance, and profitability. The study was conducted on companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2018 to 2022, employing purposive sampling to select 10 companies. Panel data regression analysis using Eviews 12 software was employed to test the hypotheses. The findings suggest that Environmental Costs do not influence Firm Value, whereas Environmental Disclosure and Environmental Performance do impact Firm Value. However, Profitability was found to have no effect on Firm Value. Based on the results of statistical tests and based on the discussion described in the previous chapter, the conclusions of this study are as follows: Environmental Cost does not affect firm value in industrial and chemical sector companies. The nature of environmental accounting disclosure is still voluntary.

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to examine the factors that influence the resilience and adaptability of banks to economic disruption. The aim is to encourage a collaborative and cooperative approach to these challenges. This study analyses the impact of monetary policies, inflation trends, and bank-specific determinants on bank profitability in the African and Middle Eastern regions. A quantitative research approach was used to assess macro and micro factors affecting bank profitability, using secondary data. The macro variables were obtained from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the micro variables were extracted from the banks' annual accounts. The research findings indicate that monetary policy and inflation have significant impacts on banks' profitability. Additionally, the System Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) model revealed that the annual interest rate (IR), inflation (INF), capital adequacy ratio (CAR), and previous financial performance (Lagged ROA/ROE) have positive and significant effects on both ROA and ROE. In addition, the loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR) had a significant positive effect on ROE, while the non-performing loan ratio (NPLr) had a significant negative effect. The validity and suitability of the GMM regression model used in this study were confirmed by the AR(2) and Sargan Test results. These findings provide valuable insights for decision-makers in the banking sector to respond to changes in monetary policy and manage risks associated with inflation fluctuations. The study emphasizes the importance of capital management and credit risk management in sustaining bank profitability amidst economic uncertainty.

Abstract

The high level of air pollution which is increasing from year to year causes air quality to decline. One of the causes of the increase in air is the growth in the number of motorized vehicles which causes an increase in the amount of emissions released in the form of Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrocarbons (HC), Nitrogen Oxide (NO). This shows that climate change is occurring. Climate change is one of the environmental problems that is currently of concern to stakeholders. The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is a non-profit organization that operates focused on addressing environmental issues. CDP works by publishing information sheets which are useful as a guide for companies to disclose greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions resulting from the company's business activities. The company publishes a sustainability report which reveals carbon emissions. GoTo is a merger between Gojek and Tokopedia where in 2020 Gojek published a sustainability report. Scoring of carbon emission disclosures both quantitatively and qualitatively was carried out in this research. During the 2020-2021 period, the highest level of suitability and quality of disclosure was obtained by GoTo. Quantitatively, the climate change category has high disclosure quality. Qualitatively, the GHG emissions calculation category has the highest disclosure quality.
