Abstract

The development of digital marketing in Indonesia encourages local beauty brands to utilize digital advertising as a key strategy in building long-term relationships with consumers. Increasingly fierce competition requires companies to not only increase brand exposure, but also build customer trust and satisfaction to create sustainable customer loyalty. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital advertising and consumer trust on customer loyalty through customer satisfaction as a mediating variable in GladToGlow products in Cirebon City. This study used a quantitative approach with an associative method. Data was collected through an online questionnaire using Google Form on 120 respondents who were users of GladToGlow products at least once in the last six months, using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was carried out using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method through the SmartPLS application. The results of the study show that digital advertising and consumer trust have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. In addition, customer satisfaction has been proven to play a role as a mediating variable that strengthens the influence of digital advertising and consumer trust on customer loyalty. An R-square value of 0.617 indicates that the model has moderate to strong explanatory abilities. These findings confirm the importance of the role of effective digital advertising and customer trust and satisfaction in building customer loyalty to local beauty brands.

Abstract

In the context of rapid educational development, understanding students’ learning styles has become increasingly important for improving the effectiveness of English language teaching, particularly in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) setting where exposure to the language is limited. This research investigates the learning style preferences of EFL students in the English Education Program at Universitas Esa Unggul. The study was motivated by the fact that many students are not fully aware of their own learning styles, which may influence the effectiveness of their English language learning. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected from 10 participants through questionnaires and interviews based on the VARK framework (Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic). The findings revealed that students demonstrated varied preferences across the four categories, with some showing a dominant single style and others displaying multimodal tendencies by combining two or more styles. These results indicate that identifying students’ learning styles can provide valuable insights for improving teaching strategies in EFL classrooms. The study contributes to learner-centered English language education by encouraging teachers to integrate diverse instructional methods that address different learning preferences.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the persistent practice of money politics in the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg) in Bandung City. Despite the implementation of regulations, such practices continue to occur with various patterns and strategies. The study aims to examine the process of money politics, the forms in which it is carried out, and the role of political communication in sustaining money politics during the 2024 Legislative Election in Bandung City. The research employed a qualitative case study approach within a constructivist paradigm. Data were collected through interviews, participant observation, and literature review. The findings reveal: (1) the process of money politics occurs through stages of voter mapping and targeting, distribution of money/goods during campaigns, and channeling through intermediaries; (2) money politics is carried out using money/goods due to its effectiveness and alignment with transactional political culture, through the construction of social facilities for image-building and long-term strategies, as well as social activities that utilize religious values and foster voter attachment; (3) political communication plays a role in shaping public opinion, reducing negative perceptions, and creating a positive image of candidates. Research on the phenomenon of money politics in the 2024 legislative elections in Bandung City shows that the practice of money politics is planned through voter mapping, incentive distribution, and channeling through intermediaries, with political communication that frames a narrative of concern and forms a positive image of the candidate to reduce public moral resistance.

Abstract

Workplace violence and job stress are significant factors affecting employee performance. Violence, both verbal and non-verbal, disrupts employees' well-being and productivity, while job stress, stemming from workload, poor conditions, and lack of support, contributes to decreased efficiency and job satisfaction. This study aims to examine the impact of workplace violence and job stress on employee performance at PT. Multisarana Gitatama. A quantitative approach was used, with data collected through surveys from employees. The relationships between workplace violence, job stress, and employee performance were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings show that both workplace violence and job stress significantly affect employee performance. Verbal abuse negatively impacts focus and motivation, while job stress reduces overall work efficiency. Interestingly, job stress also serves as a motivator for some employees, highlighting its complex nature. Workplace violence and job stress significantly reduce employee performance. Organizations must address these issues by fostering a supportive environment, implementing stress management strategies, and enforcing policies to prevent and manage violence. Further research is needed to explore these relationships in more depth.

Abstract

This study examines the discourse on the election of regional heads by local legislatures and its implications for the shifting meaning of popular sovereignty in Indonesian democracy. The research is motivated by the reemergence of proposals for indirect local elections, which raise constitutional, sociological, and political debates. The research problem focused on how changes in the electoral mechanism affect the relationship between popular will, political legitimacy, and political communication practices. This study employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of academic works, legal regulations, and Constitutional Court decisions. The analysis applies Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s theory of popular sovereignty, Carole Pateman’s participatory democracy, and Dan Nimmo’s political communication theory. The findings indicate that elections conducted by local legislatures tend to strengthen elite-driven democracy, reduce direct citizen participation, and shift political legitimacy toward political elites. The study concludes that this transformation narrows the substantive meaning of popular sovereignty in local democratic practices.

Abstract

Labor productivity is a key element in the operational success of the palm oil plantation industry. Bumitama Gunajaya Agro (BGA) faces challenges in improving employee productivity, including high absenteeism, low work efficiency, and a productivity gap compared to workers from other regions. This research is driven by the company’s need to enhance work effectiveness and productivity through optimal human resource management. In this context, motivation, the provision of incentives, and training programs are considered crucial variables that can sustainably improve employee performance. Motivation, incentives, and training are key factors believed to significantly enhance employee performance and productivity. The objective of this research is to analyze the factors affecting labor productivity and to develop strategies to enhance the effectiveness of working days. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive and causal research designs. Data were collected through surveys using Likert-scale questionnaires and direct field observations. The collected data were tested for validity and reliability, and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS software. The results are expected to show that motivation, incentives, and training significantly influence employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. These findings are anticipated to contribute to policy-making and the development of human resource strategies, particularly in enhancing the productivity and work effectiveness of local employees in plantation environments. The practical implications of this study may serve as a foundation for designing fair incentive systems, targeted training programs, and motivation approaches that align with the characteristics of Bumitama Gunajaya Agro.

Abstract

Bank Rakyat Indonesia, through its BRImo application, has become one of the most widely used digital banking platforms in Indonesia. However, technology adoption is influenced not only by system quality but also by users’ perceptions of ease of use, usefulness, trust, and satisfaction. This study aims to examine the effects of Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) and Perceived Usefulness (PU) on Customer Satisfaction (CS), with Customer Trust (CT) as a mediating variable in BRImo usage. This research employs a quantitative approach with a causal-comparative design and a purposive sampling technique. A total of 460 active BRImo users participated by completing a Likert-scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The outer model results indicate that all indicators are valid and reliable, while the inner model demonstrates strong coefficients of determination for Customer Trust and Customer Satisfaction. The findings reveal that both PU and PEOU have positive and significant effects on Customer Satisfaction and Customer Trust. Furthermore, Customer Trust significantly influences Customer Satisfaction and mediates the relationships between PU, PEOU, and Customer Satisfaction. These results highlight the importance of perceived benefits, ease of use, and trust in shaping customer satisfaction in digital banking services. Theoretically, this study reinforces the integration of the Technology Acceptance Model with the trust construct. Practically, the findings provide strategic insights for BRI in enhancing the quality of the BRImo application and strengthening the user experience.

Abstract

FABA production in South Sumatra reaches 1.2–1.8 million tons annually, yet landfill disposal dominates and causes significant environmental impacts (LCA score: 40.29). The reclassification of FABA as non-hazardous waste under Government Regulation No. 22/2021 creates utilization opportunities; however, evidence-based regional policies remain limited. This research examines the integration of LCA and policy analysis to formulate recommendations for sustainable FABA management in South Sumatra. A convergent parallel design was applied, using LCA to compare landfill, paving block, and compost scenarios, and AHP involving 33 stakeholders to prioritize policy criteria and alternatives. LCA results show that compost has the lowest environmental impact (5.62), followed by paving blocks (~18.00) and landfill (40.29). AHP prioritizes environmental (32.0%) and social (24.5%) aspects, with compost as the top alternative (46.5%). The LCA–AHP integration indicates strong alignment between scientific evidence and stakeholder preferences. Based on these results, policy recommendations are proposed across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons, supported by a stakeholder responsibility matrix to ensure effective implementation. The study provides integrated policy recommendations and supports circular economy development, multi-criteria decision-making, and SDGs 12, 13, and 15, positioning South Sumatra as a potential model for sustainable FABA management
