Abstract

This study aimed to conduct a techno-economic analysis of the decision to upgrade the Blade 1 component to the MXL type in a gas turbine unit by comparing the investment schemes for Gas Turbine (GT) 21 and GT 13. In 2021, GT 21 required an upgrade to MXL technology because it had reached its end of service life, whereas GT 13 was scheduled for repair because it still had remaining operational life. The methodology involved a comprehensive comparison of the two expenditure schemes over the 2014–2031 period, considering investment costs, repair costs, and operational profit values. Performance test evaluations showed that MXL technology applied to GT 21 increased efficiency by 0.18%. This efficiency improvement contributed to reduced natural gas consumption and increased electricity production, generating a total financial benefit of more than IDR 6 billion during the 2021–2025 period. Despite the potential efficiency improvements, the financial analysis of the GT 13 case showed that the total net cost of the upgrade scheme reached IDR 71,658,492,352.67 after accounting for efficiency gains. This value was higher than the repair scheme, which required a total cost of IDR 66,297,933,022.57. The findings confirm that maintaining the repair scheme for GT 13 was the most financially advantageous decision, as the company avoided additional investment expenditure of IDR 5,360,559,330.10 compared with implementing the upgrade program.

Abstract

Patients with stage 5 chronic kidney disease (CKD) who undergo routine hemodialysis (HD) often receive a complex treatment regimen (polypharmacy) to control comorbidities. This condition increases susceptibility to drug-related problems (DRPs) due to pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes after nephron damage. This narrative review aims to evaluate the impact of polypharmacy on the incidence of drug problems (DRPs) and its implications on various clinical outcomes, quality of life, and cost burden in stage 5 CKD patients with routine HD. This writing used a narrative review method through searching literature from various scientific data sources such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scince Direct, as well as national journals with a publication time span of the last 5-10 years. Literature analysis showed that polypharmacy was strongly correlated with a high incidence of moderate to major drug interaction potential (DDI) (49–89%) and drug side effect multiplication (ADRs). The use of drugs without proper dosage adjustment to the dialysis circuit triggers therapy failure. Monitoring of therapeutic outputs has been proven to integrate the dimensions of clinical data, laboratory biomarkers, economic aspects, and drug burden reduction through deregulation. Polypharmacy in ESRD-HD patients poses massive clinical and financial problems. The active involvement of clinical pharmacists through treatment reconciliation and selection of drug types with safe non-renal elimination is crucial to minimize the risk of toxicity, optimize clinical outcomes, and improve patients' quality of life.

Abstract

Gamification has become an important digital marketing strategy for creating a more engaging online shopping experience. Shopee implements this strategy through Shopee Games, which allows users to participate in various game activities and earn rewards that can be redeemed during shopping. The present study investigates how gamification applied through Shopee Games influences the purchase decisions of Shopee users in West Java. This research adopted a quantitative approach using descriptive and verificative methods. Data were collected through an online questionnaire completed by 100 respondents who met the predetermined research criteria and were subsequently analysed using descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, simple linear regression, the t-test, and the coefficient of determination with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results show that participants generally reported positive perceptions of the gamification features provided by Shopee Games. Statistical analysis revealed a statistically significant positive relationship between gamification and purchase decisions (? = 0.382; t = 13.162; p < 0.001). Furthermore, gamification accounted for 63.9% of the variance in purchase decisions (R² = 0.639). Overall, the findings suggest that gamification can serve not only as an entertainment feature but also as an effective digital marketing strategy for encouraging consumers' purchase decisions on the Shopee platform.

Abstract

Indonesia is the world’s largest producer of crude palm oil (CPO). By 2024, national CPO production and stocks were projected to exceed 57 million tonnes,  allocations for exports of 29.5 million tonnes, biodiesel production of 12 million tonnes, and domestic food consumption of 11.1 million tonnes. This study aimed to analyze the investment feasibility of PT X’s 300-hectare oil palm plantation expansion in West Kalimantan using capital budgeting and scenario analysis. A qualitative descriptive single-case study design was employed using primary data obtained from management interviews and field observations, as well as secondary data from PT X’s internal financial model, Bappebti CPO data, Bank Indonesia government securities (Surat Berharga Negara/SBN) yield data, and Damodaran financial data. Eight financial evaluation methods were applied: Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), Discounted Payback Period (DPP), Profitability Index (PI), Cost of Debt, Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), and Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC). All feasibility indicators demonstrated positive results, with an NPV of IDR 23.978 billion at a 12% discount rate and IDR 20.459 billion based on WACC of 13.16%; an IRR of 26.78%; a PP of 6.95 years; a DPP of 8.46 years; and a PI of 3.33. Scenario analysis across six land-price variations (IDR 15–34 million/hectare) confirmed investment feasibility under all scenarios, with IRR values ranging from 26.78% to 39.56%. The IRR–WACC spread of 13.62 percentage points indicated significant economic value creation, with an estimated Economic Value Added (EVA) of IDR 4.68 billion per year.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of digital marketing on purchase intention in the premium property industry, examining the mediating role of brand image, perceived product quality, perceived service quality, and customer satisfaction. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, data were collected via an online questionnaire from 110 prospective Developer C consumers categorized as qualified leads who had completed a site visit. Saturated (total) sampling was applied, and data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in SmartPLS 4.0. Results show that digital marketing has a positive and significant effect on brand image, perceived product quality, and perceived service quality in the pre-purchase phase. However, in shaping customer satisfaction, only perceived product quality emerges as the dominant functional determinant and the sole significant mediator; brand image and perceived service quality fail to mediate the relationship, as premium property consumers evaluate them merely as minimum hygiene factors. Customer satisfaction, in turn, significantly mediates the relationship between perceived product quality and purchase intention, but not the paths from brand image or service quality. These findings confirm that in high-involvement industries, purchase intention is driven by functional satisfaction with the product's physical quality rather than emotional preference for the developer's reputation. Developer C management is therefore advised to prioritize product quality control and maintain consistency between digital information visualization and physical reality during site visits to minimize gaps in consumer expectations.

Abstract

Indonesia's Tingkat Komponen dalam Negeri (TKDN) regulation mandates that four-wheeled battery electric vehicles achieve progressively increasing local content, targeting 80% by 2030. Yet aggregate Indonesian BEV output reached only 9,847 units in 2023 approximately 0.5% of internal combustion engine production with adoption remaining near 1% of the 2030 target by September 2024. This study applies quantified VRIO to identify, score, and compare BYD and Wuling's strategic resources across Value, Rarity, Inimitability, and Organization within Indonesia's 80% TKDN threshold addressing a gap in prior research on EV incentives, consumer barriers, and sectoral challenges. This qualitative multiple-case study examined BYD and Wuling the two largest Chinese BEV investors in Indonesia using quantified VRIO across four dimensions: Value, Rarity, Inimitability, and Organization. Data are triangulated from annual reports, TKDN records, investment disclosures, and regulatory documents (2019–2024). The empirical findings reveal that both firms score equivalently on Value (4/5), yet their binding constraints diverge sharply. Wuling's lowest score is Inimitability (2/5), reflecting an underdeveloped local supplier ecosystem for critical BEV components that exposes its entry-level product positioning to replication. BYD's lowest score is Organization (2/5), reflecting a pre-operational Indonesian footprint where governance routines and supplier-liaison capacity remain unverified despite globally rare technology capabilities. Neither firm satisfies the joint VRIO condition required for sustained competitive advantage under the resource-based view but the remediation pathway differs systematically: Wuling requires supplier ecosystem development, while BYD requires organizational scaffolding installation.

Abstract

Cordial syrup category has been established for a long time in the Indonesian market with high dependency on Ramadhan and Idul Fitri periods. Despite consistently high seasonal marketing investment and strong brand awareness, this category has reached stagnation in consumption rate, indicating that traditional promotion-driven strategies are no longer able to generate sustainable growth. To resolve this challenge, this research was initiated to relook the consumer behaviour of cordial syrup consumers, to deep dive into any untapped insights that can be an opportunity to unlock business growth through consumer-driven activation and/or innovation. The research was conducted using a qualitative research approach through in-depth interviews with a targeted cordial syrup consumer group segment. The interview data collected was analysed with thematic analysis and further synthesized by integrating the results with literature and business context. The research results identify several major themes consisting of emotional, personal, social, cultural, and marketing factors influencing cordial syrup consumption. These factors interact dynamically and shape consumer purchasing decisions. The findings further demonstrate that consumers' expectations have evolved faster than the industry's current marketing strategy. The emerging of healthy lifestyle, greater convenience, creative inspiration, and year-round relevance are the potentially underdeveloped value propositions that can be utilized for a more progressive marketing approach. The most principal keynote is that every product and packaging innovation should be supported with new value creation that can bring consumers to experience better emotional and social fulfilment.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Fuel Terminal Tanjung Gerem in empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Gerem Village, Cilegon City. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method with an evaluative approach based on OECD/DAC criteria which include relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, documentation studies, and data triangulation, then analyzed using the help of NVivo software. The results of the study show that the CSR program has provided positive benefits for fostered MSMEs through increasing business capacity, legality, product quality, and increasing income. However, various obstacles are still found, such as limitations in production, processing, marketing, and suboptimal collaboration between companies, local governments, and the community. In addition, the sustainability of the program still faces challenges in the form of the lack of sustainable market certainty for MSME products so that marketing still depends on promotional activities and exhibitions. Although administratively the program has achieved the set targets, the evaluation shows the need to strengthen governance, increase synergy between stakeholders, and develop market access so that CSR programs can have a more sustainable impact on MSME empowerment and community welfare.
