Abstract

Human resource management is essential for maintaining employee discipline and supporting organizational performance, particularly in small businesses where limited managerial structures may intensify attendance and punctuality issues. This study aimed to examine human resource management practices at Toko Beras 48 Semarang, identify factors contributing to employee tardiness and absenteeism, and determine strategies for improving work discipline. A qualitative approach was employed through observations, interviews, and document analysis involving the store owner and selected employees. Data were analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while triangulation was applied to enhance data credibility. The findings revealed that employee tardiness was influenced by internal factors, including weak leadership, unstructured recruitment processes, and unclear standard operating procedures, as well as external factors such as long commuting distances, traffic congestion, irregular sleep patterns, and workload-related fatigue. The store addressed these issues through improved recruitment practices, continuous training, performance evaluations, compensation and reward systems, clearer communication, and consideration of flexible work arrangements. Supporting factors included open leadership, fair reward systems, consistent rule enforcement, feedback mechanisms, and training programs, while resistance to change and low self-confidence remained significant barriers. The study concludes that comprehensive and consistent human resource management practices are necessary to strengthen employee discipline and enhance organizational productivity within small-scale retail business operations.

Abstract

This study examined the intellectual structure, publication trends, and key determinants of entrepreneurial intention through a hybrid systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis. The study analyzed 120 journal articles indexed in the Scopus database, retrieved using the exact phrase “Entrepreneur Intention” and screened in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The dataset covered publications available through August 2026. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer to examine publication trends, country and institutional contributions, authorship patterns, and keyword co-occurrence networks. The results showed that research on entrepreneurial intention had increased steadily since 2003, with a substantial rise in publication output from 2022 onward and a peak of 21 publications in 2025. Malaysia emerged as the leading contributing country and was also associated with the most prominent institutional contributions, while international research collaboration became increasingly interconnected. Keyword co-occurrence analysis identified entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial intention, entrepreneur intention, and entrepreneur as the most prominent research themes. The Theory of Planned Behavior remained a central theoretical framework and was closely associated with entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and innovation. The findings indicated that entrepreneurial intention was a multidimensional construct shaped by behavioral, psychological, educational, social, innovation-related, and institutional factors, with entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurship education emerging as prominent complementary drivers.

Abstract

The present study analyses the effects of leadership styles and motivation on investigators' performance at the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Bali Regional Police. The study uses a quantitative approach, with data collected through a questionnaire given to investigators at Ditreskrimsus of the Bali Regional Police. The data were analysed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method to test both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The findings suggest that leadership and innovation positively influence performance. In addition, the positive and significant effects of empowerment, leadership, digital leadership, and motivation on innovation have been demonstrated. The findings of the mediation test demonstrate that innovation partially mediates the influence of empowering leadership, digital leadership, and motivation on investigators' performance. Research shows that investigators' performance is influenced by leadership quality and motivation, as well as innovation in their duties. The Bali Regional Police must improve investigators' performance by strengthening digital leadership.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the feasibility of establishing a reflexology service business in South Tangerang. A feasibility study was conducted to assess business prospects before investment realization through analyses of market and marketing, technical and operational, management and human resources, legal, and financial aspects. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through literature reviews and observations. The proposed business was planned to be located in the Ruko U Town Bintaro Jaya area, South Tangerang, targeting middle- to upper-class consumers, particularly workers and residents in the Pondok Aren to Ciputat areas. From an operational perspective, the business was planned to provide eight massage rooms with service capacity adjusted to treatment duration and operating hours. In terms of human resources, the business required personnel for management, marketing and finance, reflexology services, and cleaning, with therapists holding relevant certifications. The financial analysis was conducted through investment projections, operating costs, revenue estimates, and cash flow analysis, using the Payback Period (PP), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Profitability Index (PI) as investment feasibility criteria. The results indicated that the business had a Payback Period of 1 year and 2 months, an NPV of IDR 2,790,301,200, an IRR of 88%, and a PI of 6.72. All financial indicators met the feasibility criteria, indicating that the proposed reflexology service business in South Tangerang was feasible for implementation.

Abstract

Indonesia’s agricultural sector plays an important role in economic growth and employment; however, agricultural companies face fluctuating input costs, supply-chain disruptions, climate-related risks, and changing investor expectations that may influence firm value. This study aimed to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of Return on Assets (ROA), Current Ratio (CR), Earnings per Share (EPS), and Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER) on the firm value of agricultural companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2021–2024. A quantitative causal-associative research design was applied using financial statement data. Purposive sampling was used to select 18 of 24 companies, resulting in 72 firm-year observations. Panel-data regression analysis was conducted using EViews 13, with Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests identifying the Random Effects Model as the most appropriate estimator. The findings showed that ROA and DER had positive but statistically insignificant effects on Price-to-Book Value (PBV), whereas CR and EPS had negative but statistically insignificant effects. Simultaneously, the four financial ratios did not significantly affect firm value, with an F-test probability value of 0.842861. The model explained only 2.05% of the variation in firm value, indicating that other factors played a more substantial role. The study concluded that conventional profitability, liquidity, earnings, and leverage indicators were insufficient to explain agricultural company value during the post-pandemic period, suggesting that future research should incorporate broader financial and nonfinancial determinants.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of Banco Nacional de Comércio de Timor-Leste (BNCTL) using the Balanced Scorecard approach, which comprises four perspectives: financial, customer, internal business process, and learning and growth. This research employed a descriptive research design with a quantitative approach. The data consisted of primary data collected through questionnaires and interviews, as well as secondary data obtained from BNCTL’s financial reports for the 2023–2025 period. The sample consisted of 100 respondents, including 50 BNCTL employees and 50 BNCTL customers. The sampling technique employed was simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, financial ratio analysis, scoring analysis, and validity and reliability tests assisted by SPSS. The results indicate that the financial perspective, measured using Return on Assets (ROA), decreased from 2.41% in 2023 to 2.35% in 2024 and 2.00% in 2025. The internal business process perspective achieved an average score of 79.60%, categorized as good. The learning and growth perspective obtained an average score of 85.90%, categorized as very good, while the customer perspective achieved an average score of 82.43%, categorized as good. Overall, BNCTL’s performance was categorized as good to very good. The learning and growth perspective demonstrated the highest performance achievement, whereas the declining ROA trend and relatively lower customer loyalty indicate areas requiring further improvement. These findings demonstrate that the Balanced Scorecard approach can serve as a comprehensive performance evaluation framework for BNCTL by integrating both financial and non-financial performance indicators.

Abstract

The rapid development of e-commerce in Indonesia has intensified competition among platforms, including Shopee, which continues to face various service-related challenges that may create gaps between users’ perceptions and expectations. This study aimed to analyze the electronic service quality (e-service quality) of the Shopee platform using the E-S-QUAL framework and Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA) to measure service quality gaps and identify priority areas for improvement. The results showed a grand mean perception score of 4.19 and a grand mean expectation score of 4.70, resulting in an average SERVQUAL gap of ?0.51, indicating that service performance had not fully met user expectations. The largest gaps were identified in promotional price consistency (P7; gap = -0.93), access to customer service (CS) communication channels (P20; gap = ?0.75), and problem resolution by customer service (P12; gap = -0.73). Based on the dimensional analysis, the Contact and Fulfillment dimensions required the greatest attention for improvement. Meanwhile, the IPA matrix placed indicators P5 (free shipping), P10 (clear product descriptions), P14 (personal data protection), and P20 (access to customer service communication channels) in Quadrant I, indicating that these indicators represented the most urgent priorities for service improvement.

Abstract

Earnings quality is essential for ensuring that reported profits accurately reflect a company’s underlying economic performance, particularly in Indonesian non-banking state-owned enterprises that operate under multiple economic and public-service responsibilities. This study examined the effects of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), corporate governance, and firm attributes on earnings quality, with earnings management as a mediating variable. A quantitative associative design was employed using secondary data obtained from the corporate reports of 17 non-banking state-owned enterprises selected through purposive sampling over the 2020–2024 period, yielding 85 firm-year observations. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings showed that ESG and corporate governance had significant negative effects on earnings quality, whereas firm attributes had a significant positive effect. Earnings management did not have a significant effect on earnings quality. ESG had a significant negative effect on earnings management, while corporate governance had a significant positive effect on earnings management; firm attributes had no significant effect on earnings management. Furthermore, earnings management did not mediate the effects of ESG, corporate governance, or firm attributes on earnings quality. These findings indicate that formal ESG disclosure and corporate governance mechanisms may not yet have been substantively integrated into financial reporting practices. The study concludes that non-banking state-owned enterprises should strengthen the substantive implementation of ESG and corporate governance through effective internal controls and transparent financial reporting.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effects of company growth and leverage on earnings quality in food and beverage subsector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2022–2024 period. A quantitative method with an associative approach was employed. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 31 companies and 93 firm-year observations over the study period. The study used secondary data obtained from the companies’ annual financial statements. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that, partially, company growth had no significant effect on earnings quality. In contrast, leverage had a positive and significant effect on earnings quality, supporting agency theory, which suggests that creditor monitoring through debt covenants may constrain opportunistic managerial behavior. Simultaneously, company growth and leverage had a significant effect on the earnings quality of food and beverage subsector companies during the 2022–2024 period. These findings imply that company management should maintain an optimal level of leverage as a disciplinary mechanism, while investors should pay closer attention to capital structure when assessing the reliability of earnings information. Future research is recommended to incorporate additional variables, such as good corporate governance, and to broaden the scope of the sectors examined.
