Abstract

Risk management is one of the primary responsibilities of event organizers, yet so often ignored or misunderstood, particularly by inexperienced planners, because, like my now-paranoid event-goers, one can’t envision what one has not been exposed to – they don’t know what they don’t know. This article will show you how and why risk management is a fundamental component of event management, and introduce you to the functions of risk management within the overall field of events management and the tools you may use to perform these functions effectively.

Abstract

Complications after tooth extraction include inflammation, bleeding, edema, discomfort, and dry socket. Both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are used to treat inflammation. Using chemo drugs is not without side effects. Avocado seed is an herbal substance that is needed as an alternative therapy to reduce wound inflammation caused by tooth extraction. To prove the potential of nano gel (avocado seed extract) and can be applied as an alternative to prevent inflammation in wounds after tooth extraction of white rats. True experiment with randomized posttest with control group design. Consisting of intervention group nano gel avocado seed extract 10%, positive control group povidone iodine 10% and aquadest. Observations were made for 7 days. The variables studied were inflammation of the wound after tooth extraction of rats and histopathological examination (Lymphocytes, Neocapillary and Fibroblasts). According to the unpaired test results, there was no significant difference between the avocado and povidone groups (p=0.143), a significant difference between the avocado and aquadest groups (p=0.001), and a significant difference between the povidone and aquadest groups (p=0.001). p = 0.015). Application of avocado seed extract nanogels at concentrations of 10% and 10% povidone-iodine showed the same ability during wound regeneration and new blood vessel enlargement, and also reduced the number of lymphocyte inflammatory cells, as shown by histology Check confirmed. The administration of nano gel of avocado seed extract is effective and can be applied as an alternative to prevent inflammation in wounds after tooth extraction in white rats.

Abstract

Behavioral accounting connects human behavior and accounting. Behavioral science is part of social science, while behavioral accounting is part of accounting science and behavioral knowledge. But behavioral accounting and behavioral science both use the principles of psychology and sociology to assess and solve a problem. This study aims to determine the concepts that exist in the area of psychology and social psychology and to find out how these are applied to the theoretical system of behavioral accounting. The method used in this research is descriptive which describes how the concepts are applied to the theoretical system in behavioral accounting. The result of this research is that we are able to understand aspects of psychology and social psychology comprehensively. In this study, the main concepts contained in it are explained, where attitudes, changes in attitudes, motivation, perceptions, learning, personality, and emotions are discussed. Then we see how this system is applied theoretically to behavioral accounting.

Abstract

Caries is a dental disease characterized by damage ranging from enamel, dentin, and pulp. Caries is caused by bacteria that stick to the teeth. The purpose of this study was to prove the effectiveness of lemongrass in inhibiting the growth of bacteria that cause dental caries. The pretest-posttest laboratory and field experiment consisted of a lemongrass mouthwash intervention group with concentrations of 33%, 36%, 39% and a chlorhexidine control group, each subject gargled for 2 minutes. Saliva was collected before and after gargling. The variables studied were the number of colonies and bacterial inhibition. The paired test of 36% (p=0.017) and 39% (p=0.006) concentration intervention groups was significantly different, while the chlorhexidine control group (p=0.091) was not significantly different. The organoleptic test results of the 36% lemongrass mouthwash had a dark brown color, slightly thick, the distinctive smell of lemongrass stems was still present, and the taste of mint. Based on this test, the most acceptable lemongrass mouthwash concentration is 36%. Giving a 39% lemongrass mouthwash formulation for 2 minutes effectively reduces the number of bacterial colonies that cause dental caries and the inhibition is better than the chlorhexidine control, while the 36% concentration is not significantly different from chlorhexidine.

Abstract

Modeling the volatility of interest rates is essential for many areas in finance. However, it is well known that interest rate series exhibit non-normal characteristics that may not be captured with the standard GARCH model with a normal error distribution. But which GARCH model and error distribution to use is still open to question, especially where the model that best fits the in-sample data may not give the most effective out-of-sample volatility forecasting ability, which we use as the criterion for the selection of the most effective model from among the alternatives. In this work, the GARCH family models were employed in modeling interest rate volatility in Nigeria. A time series of data spanning January 2000 to December 2018 (in-sample data) was used to fit the models and out-of-sample data running from January to December 2019 to determine the best conditional volatility forecast. Twenty-four symmetric and eighteen asymmetric models were estimated and compared using three distribution errors; the normal, student's t, and the generalized error distributions; while four error loss functions, namely, RMSE, MAE, MAPE, and TIC, were adopted to determine the best fit and conditional volatility forecast. The result shows that the symmetric GED-GARCH (1,1) model was considered the overall best fit in both the symmetric and asymmetric models. The best-fitted GED-GARCH (1,1) model exhibited volatility persistence. The in-sample and out-of-sample volatility forecast of the GED-GARCH (1,1) model reveals that unconditional mean and variance will be achieved in the third month of 2019. Some transmission spillover effects running from the exchange and inflation rates to interest rates were also detected.
