Abstract

This study examines the potential of siwak (Salvadora persica) in enhancing holistic oral health through a literature review approach. Siwak, historically utilized across cultures, contains active compounds like trimethylamine, tannins, Salvador, and benzyl isothiocyanate, known for their antibacterial and plaque-inhibiting effects. Research data indicate that siwak effectively reduces plaque buildup and gingival inflammation, supporting its integration into modern dental practices. However, improper use can lead to adverse effects such as gingival recession and tissue trauma, highlighting the need for proper oral hygiene education. The integration of siwak in modern dentistry requires quality control and standardization to ensure its efficacy. Modern applications of siwak, including toothpaste and mouthwash, demonstrate its potential in promoting holistic dental care. Cultural acceptance and regulatory standards are essential for its broader adoption, while public education about its benefits and scientific basis can improve acceptance and utilization.

Abstract

This study examines linguistic errors in scientific articles written by students from the Indonesian Language Education Study Program at Universitas Malikussaleh. The primary objective is to identify, categorize, and analyze common mistakes that compromise the clarity, coherence, and quality of student writing. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research focuses on errors in morphology, syntax, spelling, and punctuation. The data comprises four student-authored scientific articles published in Jurnal Kande, selected through purposive sampling based on criteria such as academic supervision and thematic relevance to Indonesian language education. The analysis reveals recurring issues, including grammatical inaccuracies, improper sentence structures, misused terminology, and spelling and punctuation errors, which diminish the clarity of arguments and affect the credibility of students' scientific communication. By identifying error patterns through content analysis, the study provides insights into their causes and effects, contributing to the existing knowledge of linguistic error analysis. The findings offer practical recommendations for enhancing students' scientific writing skills, which are essential for academic success and future professional growth. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the need for targeted linguistic training and mentorship to improve the quality of scientific writing and highlights the importance of continuous support systems in academic settings to address persistent language errors. It advocates for the implementation of specialized educational strategies to enhance students' writing clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.

Abstract

Legal transformation in restricting human rights (HR) has become a crucial issue in efforts to prevent nepotism and corruption. This phenomenon creates a dilemma between maintaining government integrity and protecting human resources, such as the right to freedom of politics, expression, and work. This study aims to explore how the law in Indonesia has changed in restricting human resources to prevent nepotism and corrupt practices and analyze whether these restrictions are in line with the principles of justice and proportionality. The research method used is normative law, with a legislative approach and case studies. Secondary data were collected through analysis of laws, regulations, and court documents related to corruption and nepotism. The research findings show that legal transformation in Indonesia has resulted in stricter regulations on conflicts of interest; however, in some cases, restrictions on HR are considered excessive, leading to potential violations of individual rights. In conclusion, although there is a need to control nepotism and corruption, it is important for the government to ensure that HR restrictions remain proportional and in line with international standards. The implication of this study is the need for more comprehensive, transparent, and accountable legal reform. The government needs to ensure that any anti-corruption regulations that restrict human rights are based on clear needs and are closely monitored to prevent abuse of power. Public involvement in oversight should also be increased to strengthen legal legitimacy and public trust.

Abstract

The protection of human rights in the context of compulsory seizure efforts remains a topic of debate in legal practice in Indonesia. Seizures are often carried out without regard for fundamental individual rights, resulting in the potential for human rights violations, particularly concerning property rights and justice. This study aims to examine how human rights protections are implemented in the seizure procedures undertaken by law enforcement officials. The research method employed is normative juridical, utilizing an approach based on statutory regulations, case studies, and legal doctrine analysis. Data collected are qualitatively analyzed through literature reviews and eval_uations of relevant cases. The findings indicate that while there are regulations governing seizure procedures, their implementation often does not align with human rights principles. There is an urgent need for improvements in oversight mechanisms and accountability in the seizure process to prevent abuse of power. This research recommends reinforcing standard operating procedures that adhere to respect for human rights and stringent oversight in every seizure action.

Abstract

Problems faced by juvenile offenders in the Special Child Guidance Institution (LPKA) include limited educational facilities, lack of qualified educators, and lack of external support. These problems are exacerbated by the psychological challenges experienced by these children, which have a negative impact on their learning process. Therefore, the transformation of education in LPKA is an urgent need to support their rehabilitation and social reintegration. This study aims to analyze the implementation of education for juvenile offenders in LPKA by mapping the challenges faced and evaluating the efforts that have been made to overcome them. The main focus includes the development of an adaptive, inclusive, and technology-based education model to create a learning environment that supports children's holistic development. The method used is a normative legal approach with policy analysis. Data were collected through literature studies, analysis of related regulations, and studies of educational practices in LPKA that have been implemented. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of education in LPKA still faces significant obstacles, especially related to facilities, human resources, and less than optimal policy support. However, there is potential for improvement through strengthening collaboration between institutions, providing training for educators, and developing relevant life skills-based programs. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of education policy reform that is more responsive to the needs of adolescents in LPKA. Regulations are needed that strengthen the guarantee of equal and quality education, intensive training for educators, and curriculum development that emphasizes character education and life skills. Thus, it is hoped that adolescents in LPKA can obtain decent education and have the opportunity for better social reintegration.

Abstract

This study examines the legal uncertainty related to the implementation of restitution as a form of legal protection for child victims of sexual violence. The issues raised include unclear regulations, complicated administrative procedures, and lack of support from law enforcement officers in the process of submitting and fulfilling restitution. These conditions often prevent victims from obtaining compensation that is their right according to court decisions that have permanent legal force. This study aims to analyze the legal uncertainty related to the implementation of restitution for child victims of sexual violence in Indonesia, identify obstacles in its implementation, and provide recommendations for improving the existing legal system to create better legal certainty. This study uses a normative legal method with a statute approach and a case approach. The results of the study indicate that legal uncertainty regarding restitution for child victims of sexual violence is caused by ambiguous regulations, inconsistencies between applicable regulations, and complicated administrative procedures. Support from law enforcement officers, especially public prosecutors, is often less than optimal in facilitating restitution applications by victims. In addition, limited socialization regarding victim rights exacerbates uncertainty in the implementation of the law. This study provides theoretical and practical implications in the development of criminal law and child protection. Theoretically, this study enriches the criminal law literature related to victims' rights and the implementation of restitution. Practically, the results of this study can be a reference for policy makers in formulating clearer and more implementable regulations. The proposed recommendations include simplifying administrative procedures, strengthening the role of prosecutors, and increasing the socialization of victims' rights to create a more responsive and equitable legal system.
