IT-Explore: Jurnal Penerapan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi merupakan jurnal ilmiah tentang penelitian penerapan Teknologi Informasi dalam berbagai bidang, terbit tiga kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Januari, Mei, dan September untuk masing-masing volumenya. Abstract

Ekklesia School is a holistic school that prioritizes the personal development of its students. The limited information about Ekklesia School, including its teaching system, facilities, and the quality of its teachers, has resulted in a low level of awareness about the school, This has resulted in a lack of students enrolling in the school. Therefore, there is a need for informational media that can summarize information about Ekklesia School through audiovisual media, such as a video profile. Research in the form of a video profile with a clear message and information, supported by strong visuals and narration, can help the audience understand the message conveyed in the video profile. This research applies qualitative methods and a linear strategy in its design process, enabling the delivery of current and in-depth information and messages about Ekklesia School

Abstract

Distance learning has become a supporting tool in education in the digital era. Improving the quality of education requires changing new, more efficient learning methods by designing E-Learning applications for learning media. The Manado State Christian Institute already has an Information System platform which aims to facilitate student registration and administration. To improve the quality of education, an E-Learning application is needed. The aim of this research is to design an E-Learning application as a distance learning platform that facilitates communication between students and lecturers in accessing material, assignments, challenges and exams. System design is carried out using Unified Modeling Language (UML) based modeling. Based on the results of usability testing, a score of 95.2% was obtained, which means that the E-Learning application is very good to use based on the experience of 5 respondents representing the Manado State Christian Institute.

Abstract

Pencatatan perjalanan dinas pada Kantor Pemerintah Kota Salatiga masih menggunakan cara manual yaitu staf administrasi mencatat satu-persatu laporan dari pegawai yang melakukan perjalanan dinas. Hal itu tidak efektif karena memerlukan waktu yang cukup lama dan tidak efisien karena berkas-berkas laporan menjadi menumpuk dan mengakibatkan rentannya hilang atau tersebar. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan aplikasi untuk mencatat laporan perjalanan dinas berbasis Web. Pegawai dapat membuat laporan melalui web dimanapun dan kapanpun. Data pencatatan perjalanan dinas juga dapat dimonitor dan dicari saat dibutuhkan. Pengembangan sistem ini menggunakan metode waterfall, kemudian melakukan perancangan dan pemodelan lalu mengimplementasikannya kepada website yang akan dibuat. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian sistem menggunakan Black Box untuk melihat apakah sistem sudah dapat berjalan dengan baik sesuai fungsinya. Hasil dari penelitian ini nantinya akan memberikan kemudahan bagi Kantor Pemerintah kota Salatiga untuk melakukan pencatatan perjalanan dinas. Pegawai dapat mengakses dimanapun dan kapanpun begitu pula staf administrasi.

Abstract

Abstrak – Dalam sebuah jaringan diperlukan sebuah alamat dalam bentuk IP Address. Penelitian ini akan membandingkan kedua versi IP yang ada yaitu IPv4 dan IPv6 pada mekanisme antrian sehingga dapat memberi gambaran apa pengaruh performa pada manajemen jaringan secara spesifik yaitu pada bandwidth, latency, dan packet loss. Mekanisme Antrian dalam jaringan merupakan proses bagaimana paket-paket data yang akan dikirim dari asal paket seperti server menuju ke klien yang meminta, metode antrian Class Based Weighted Fair Queuing (CBWFQ) merupakan metode Mekanisme antrian yang menggunakan metode Class Based Queuing untuk memilah paket data yang sudah ditentukan user seperti protokol TCP dan ICMP serta Weighted Fair Queuing sebagai penjadwal pengiriman paket data. Proses untuk melakukan analisis menggunakan Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) yaitu melakuan analisis, desain, simulasi prototype, implementasi, monitoring, dan manajemen pada sebuah jaringan. Pada IPv4 bandwidth yang digunakan lebih tinggi daripada IPv6, tetapi IPv6 lebih konsisten pada penggunaan bandwidth.Sementara pada latency perbedaannya hampir satu milisecond dan tidak didapati terdapatnya packet loss. Penggunaan rata-rata bandwidth pada IPv4 adalah 94.315 Mbits/sec sementara pada IPv6 adalah 92.9625 Mbits/sec, rata-rata latency IPv4 adalah 11.65 milisecond sementara pada IPv6 adalah 12.4 milisecond. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sebuah acuan dalam transisi perubahan dari IPv4 menjadi IPv6 dalam jaringan yang telah diatur dengan Mekanisme Antrian.

Abstract

The identification of academic flagship areas is crucial for higher education institutions as it helps enhance academic reputation and produce graduates who are competent in the workforce. However, the determination of these flagship areas is often subjective. Therefore, this study aims to identify the academic flagship areas at XYZ University using the Topic Modeling Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) method. In this study, the LDA method is specifically used in the research field to analyze research journals at XYZ University from 2017 to 2021. The research results reveal three main topics that dominate the academic publications at XYZ University: business risk analysis, application system implementation particularly related to the pandemic, and information management with a framework in information technology. Based on this analysis, the flagship areas of XYZ University can be concluded to be in the fields of Information Technology and Business. Consequently, the University can more efficiently direct research resources and academic programs, as well as strengthen collaborations and its reputation as a center of excellence in these fields.

Abstract

Human Resource Management (HRM) is a very important part of an organization. In the digital era, HRM can be done more efficiently through mobile applications that allow access to employee data, HRM processes, or online attendance. However, the ability of an HRM mobile application to succeed depends on the usability factor or ease of use by users.  Talenta is one of Mekari's business platforms that provides a complete solution for all Human Resources (HR) and payroll management issues. Talenta is an application that will be used for Usability Testing using Cognitive Walkthrough. The initial stage in starting Usability Testing on the mobile-based Talenta application with the Cognitive Walkthrough method begins with conducting a literature study, learning the system or application, then making scenario questions based on the system. Then, respondents will be asked to complete the scenario questions. The scenario data collected includes; data on success in completing the scenario, data on errors in completing the scenario, and data on the time required to complete the scenario. Finally, the interview stage will be continued with the respondents on the scenarios that have been carried out. The scenario and interview data will be analyzed to calculate the effectiveness and efficiency aspects of the Talenta application. After the analysis stage, users will be given a System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire to be answered using Google Form using a Likert scale. The results of the questionnaire will be analyzed using SUS calculations, and then suggestions and conclusions will be given in the aspect of user learning ability. After usability testing of Talenta mobile application using Cognitive Walkthrough and SUS methods, the following results were obtained: 78% effectiveness; 0.10 seconds efficiency; and 67 learning ability level. Talenta has met the usability criteria for mobile applications in general, including effectiveness and efficiency in using the ISO 9241-11 model. However, there are still shortcomings in the user learnability level. To improve the usability of this application, it is recommended to change the layout, menu, add features, as well as clarify some display features.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of social media on mental well-being, focusing on a quantitative analysis using simple linear regression. Social media has become an integral part of daily life, affecting various aspects of individual life, including mental well-being. This study collected data from an online survey participated by respondents from diverse demographics, measuring social media usage and mental well-being indicators such as stress levels, anxiety, and life satisfaction. Through simple linear regression analysis, this study examined the relationship between social media usage duration and changes in mental well-being. Preliminary findings indicate a significant correlation between social media usage intensity and increased stress and anxiety levels, as well as decreased life satisfaction. These findings are expected to provide insights for policymakers and mental health practitioners to develop more effective strategies in managing the negative impacts of social media and enhancing mental well-being in society.

Abstract

TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 1 Bengkulu is an early childhood education institution that still manages administrative and academic processes manually, such as recording student data, admitting new learners, and assessing learning outcomes. This has the potential to cause recording errors, data loss, and delays in information processing. This research aims to design a web-based school information system that can help manage school data and information in a computerized manner. The system includes student management, payment, assessment, and school profile modules. The methods used in designing this system include observation, interview, and literature study. System requirements analysis was conducted to identify the needs of users, both school managers and the community. The system was developed using Codeigniter 3 framework and MySQL database. It is expected that this system can improve the efficiency and accuracy of data management and accelerate the delivery of real-time information.

Abstract

UMKM Jemari Ragil has successfully digitized its business by joining the e-commerce platform Shopee since September 2023 and reached international markets such as Malaysia. Although marketing strategies through Instagram, WhatsApp, and TikTok are effective, challenges arise from the limited understanding of technology by customers, who often need guidance in using E-commerce. This research aims to implement React JavaScript for the Jemari Ragil' MSME website. The goal is to overcome the main obstacles faced by the owner of Jemari Ragil. The research method includes problem and needs analysis, design and system design, implementation or application development, and system testing. The result of this research is the successful implementation of JavaScript React to build an efficient and interactive MSME website interface. Through the results of Usability Testing system testing and measured using the System Usability Scale (SUS) which resulted in a score of 76 with a good category, indicating that the system can be accepted by users and meets the established usability standards.

Abstract

This research proposes a time-based dynamic port knocking technique on Mikrotik routers to enhance SSH access security. The system uses an algorithm for port calculation that changes according to the server’s time, requiring a different knocking sequence for each access session. The technique involves three consecutive knocking stages, where each stage must be passed in order for SSH access to be granted. The results show that this method is effective as a two-factor authentication mechanism, limiting access only to clients who understand the port calculation algorithm. Moreover, this system helps prevent brute-force attacks more efficiently by changing the port every minute, making it more difficult for unauthorized parties to launch an attack. Therefore, this method offers a more dynamic, adaptive, and flexible SSH security solution that can effectively address modern cybersecurity threats.
