Abstract

Abstract

The open unemployment rate in Central Java Province remains a significant issue, despite positive increases in minimum wages, education, and population during the 2020–2024 period. Increases in the minimum wage and average years of schooling have not fully addressed the disparity in job opportunities between regions, resulting in uneven labor distribution across districts or cities. This study analyzes the effect of minimum wages, education, and population on the open unemployment rate in Central Java Province during the period 2020-2024. This study uses panel data with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach and utilizes secondary data from 35 regencies/cities in Central Java. The model estimation results show that the minimum wage, education, and population variables simultaneously have a significant effect on the open unemployment rate in Central Java. Partially, the minimum wage and education variables have a negative and significant effect on the unemployment rate. Meanwhile, the population variable has a positive and insignificant effect on the unemployment rate. The government is expected to pay serious attention to the minimum wage system, improving the quality of education, and the availability of job opportunities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of GRDP per capita, harvested rice area, and food social assistance on the prevalence of food consumption inadequacy across Indonesian provinces during the period 2018–2024. The study employs a quantitative approach using panel data regression analysis covering 38 provinces over seven years. The data are obtained from official institutions, including Statistics Indonesia and relevant government agencies. Data estimation is conducted using a Fixed Effect Model based on model specification tests. The results indicate that GRDP per capita, harvested rice area, and food social assistance jointly have a significant effect on food consumption inadequacy. Partially, GRDP per capita has a significant effect in reducing food consumption inadequacy, while harvested rice area shows a marginal effect and food social assistance does not have a significant impact. These findings suggest that regional economic improvement plays a more dominant role in addressing food consumption inadequacy, whereas agricultural performance and food social assistance programs require further strengthening to effectively support food security. Rice is a strategic commodity that plays an important role in national food security. Therefore, it is necessary to understand rice prices, population, and rice consumption in order to formulate strategic and effective policies. The research method used is quantitative with an associative approach and panel data regression using a fixed effect model with the help of Stata 14.2 software. The results show that rice prices and population have a significant and positive effect on rice consumption in Sumatra, Java, and Bali. The findings of this study have the potential to serve as a reference, especially for the government and Bulog in formulating strategic and effective policies regarding food security for Indonesia, particularly in the regions of Java, Sumatra, and Bali.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of Bitcoin integration with global financial markets, as represented by the S&P 500, Nikkei 225, Shanghai Composite, and gold indices. The research method uses the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach to examine the long-term and short-term relationships between variables. The results show that Bitcoin has varying degrees of integration with global financial markets over the long term, while the relationship is more volatile in the short term. These findings suggest that Bitcoin has not yet fully functioned as a stable safe haven, but still has potential as an investment diversification instrument. In conclusion, Bitcoin's movements are still influenced by global market dynamics, so investors need to consider the risk of volatility in making investment decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of peer-to-peer (P2P) lending default in West Java Province using outstanding loan, number of borrowers, unemployment rate, and inflation as explanatory variables. The study employs the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach to examine both short-run and long-run relationships among the variables. The results indicate that in the long run, outstanding loans, unemployment, and inflation have a positive and significant effect on default, while the number of borrowers has a negative and significant effect. In the short run, the dynamics of default show a pattern that is relatively consistent with the long-run relationship. These findings suggest that the default risk of P2P lending is influenced by a combination of credit expansion and regional macroeconomic conditions. Therefore, strengthening risk management and enhancing supervision over loan growth are essential to maintain the stability of digital financing.
