Abstract

Surveillance is the act of observing a problem continuously starting from data collection, data analysis or processing, data interpretation, and dissemination of data used for planning, implementation, and evaluation of health management programs. TB is still a global problem with high mortality and morbidity worldwide. Indonesia is ranked second as the country with the highest number of TB cases. East Java Province has the second highest TB burden after West Java. The largest population in East Java is Surabaya City with 2,801,409 people. Methods: This is a descriptive observational study, that focuses on the Tuberculosis disease surveillance program in the East Java Provincial Health Office, located at Jalan Ahmad Yani No. 118 Surabaya. Results: Analysis of tuberculosis surveillance data from the Public Health Office of East Java in 2014 varies between 5.43% and 78.15%, with a Case Notification Rate (CNR) is 110. Analysis of tuberculosis surveillance data from the Public Health Office of East Java in 2015 the prevalence of TB in the district ranged between 5.73% and 55.1%, with the number Case Notification Rate is 111. Surveillance of tuberculosis in East Java Health Office using the procedure outlined in national guidelines tuberculosis disease control. This analysis revealed that the Case Detection Rate in East Java at 2015 was 55,1%, and it is lower compared to the national target achievement in CDR which is 70%, also for the target of case notification rate. Conclusion: The tuberculosis CDR in East Java at 2015 is still lower than the national target in tuberculosis CDR and it shows that more effort is needed to increase activities on case notification and to stop the transmission of TB by strengthening the component from TB strategy. Abstract

The Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) is a government program that aims to help reduce costs for school-aged children who come from poor/vulnerable to poor families. The method of selecting recipients of PIP assistance carried out at SDN Sindangkarya 2 allows for human error to occur, causing the selection to not be objective. So it is necessary to build a decision support system using the Weighted Product method as an alternative solution, so that the selection process is on target and does not take up a lot of time. This system was designed using the Unified Modeling Language which consists of use case diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams and class diagrams. To develop this system using the Prototype method. This system was tested using the black box testing method. The process for selecting students who receive the Smart Indonesia Program consists of five criteria, namely report card grades, parent's income, number of parent's dependents, condition of being orphaned and possession of a Certificate of Inadequacy (SKTM) or Prosperous Family Card (KKS). This research produces a Decision Support System that can select students who receive assistance from the Smart Indonesia Program on target and minimize selection time. Abstract

This research reviews the use of fast phonics to learn reading skills with phonics for emergent and early readers. This research is a descriptive qualitative. Observation is used as the main instrument to collect data. The data uses the app of Reading Eggs that contains Fast Phonics program as the object of research. The analysis of the data uses three ways of qualitative analysis, namely reducing data, displaying data, and conclusions. Fast Phonics is part of ABC Reading Eggs application— online reading program for ages two to 13—was developed by its team of highly experienced educators, animators and web developers.  This phonics program helps students become a more fluent reader, as they'll be able to quickly and accurately recognize and pronounce words. The Fast Phonics program includes 20 fun‑filled levels (peaks) where students learn key phonics skills. This research will take Peak 1 as the sample of activities. The analysis shows that Fast Phonics program explicitly and systematically teaches, supports reinforces and assesses the core phonics skills, namely: letter sound-correspondence, blending, segmenting and syllable. Fast Phonics program also covers pseudo-words and decodable books and an accompanying end-of-book quiz in each peak. This complete synthetic phonics program is a dynamic mix of maps, upgrades and exciting learning activities. Since this program is an online learning, students in around the world may considered this program as a useful and practical learning tool to master key phonics skills and improve reading skills.   Keywords: Phonics, Reading Skill, Fast Phonics

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 2022 was 21.6%, which still exceeds the tolerance limit set by the WHO. The high prevalence of stunting cases in Indonesia indicates that the overall health status of the Indonesian population remains low. This research used a case-control study design with a population of 99 stunted children and 99 normal children. The research instrument employed a checklist and the statistical test used was the chi-square test. The results showed that in the working area of Puskesmas Wanareja 1, approximately 37.4% of pregnant mothers experienced Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), compared to about 6.1% in the control group. There were 52.5% of children in the case group who had never received exclusive breastfeeding, while only 33.3% in the control group faced a similar situation; 66.7% of children in the control group had received exclusive breastfeeding. The incidence of stunting in this area reached 99 individuals out of a total population of 3,675. There was a correlation between maternal nutritional status during pregnancy and stunting, as mothers with inadequate nutritional status during pregnancy had a 9.25 times greater chance of giving birth to stunted children compared to mothers with good nutritional status. There was also a relationship between the history of exclusive breastfeeding and stunting, where children who did not receive exclusive breastfeeding had a 2.213 times higher chance of experiencing stunting compared to those who received exclusive breastfeeding.
