Abstract

It has been demonstrated that parental involvement in a student's academic life improves the student's performance. Assisting with schoolwork, joining in extracurriculars, and talking to teachers are all examples of ways to get involved in the classroom. Parents who are actively interested in their children's education have been linked to improved academic performance, improved school attendance, and increased participation in advanced courses. Increased parental participation has been linked to improved school attitudes and increased academic motivation in children. A student's academic performance may be hindered by socioeconomic or familial problems, yet parental participation can act as a buffer against these influences. Efforts to engage and assist parents in their child's education can have a long-lasting, beneficial effect on a student's academic and personal development, and parents' involvement plays a substantial role in students' academic outcomes.

Abstract

The current research examines the effects of integrating technology into K-12 classrooms specifically in rural school environments regarding its advantages and disadvantages, effects on student attentiveness or interest, and effect for students’ equality in school and teaching methods. This paper thus employs a case study to examine how digital means have impacted on classroom interactions and made education more diverse to rural learners. The study shows that the extent to which technology increases students’ interest and helps manage students’ diverse learning needs is great but the implementation is constrained by infrastructural deficiencies, insufficient professional development, and lack of preparedness. Moreover, inequalities are rising with ever more diverse educational ICT access outside the school environment deepening the existing inequalities. The study shows that technology integration can be best understood as a reconstructive-process level and thus requires attention to infrastructural issues, pointed continuation of the teacher education program, and a fair distribution of the digital assets. Thus, the study calls on all the educational stakeholders especially policymakers, educational institutions and local authorities to embrace full implementation and support the use of technology to foster education for children in rural areas.

Abstract

This research focus on examining effects of equity-based educational practices on closing an achievement gap with main emphasis placed on underprivileged students. The approach the research employed is the quantitative and qualitative research where findings include the pre and post-intervention, test scores, engagement levels, and attendance where it is complemented by interviews and focus group discussions. These are evidenced in the areas of academic achievement, student attitude and behavior, and social emotional learning with emphasis made on the lowest SES students However, they also noted limitations and threats inherent with the change process such as: resistance to change; scarcity of resources; and unsure future of the said interventions. Based on the findings from the study, the author opines that equity based interventions are useful in promoting equity in education delivery however they require enhancement of support, sufficient resource mobilization and enhanced community participation. The findings provide significant insights into how educators and policy makers can strengthen preservice teachers abilities to support equity- oriented reform efforts in K-12 classrooms as well as promote and maintain such reforms. Thus it is recommended that future research focus on the sustained impact of these interventions and strategies with regards to the hurdles encountered in the process of implementation.

Group meetings help learners to build up interactional proficiency since they become more free and organic with others as compared to performances. It has been established that vocabulary games are effecting in improving the students’ ability to recall and use the words as well as in motivating the students through positive reinforcement. The main study emphasizes the realistic utility of these approaches and their evidence base in instructional theories as well as their effectiveness in improving language learning achievements in EFL contexts. To the best of current knowledge, the present investigation adds to the existing literature by offering qualitative evidence in support of the means and ends of interactive and student-centered methods of language instruction.

Abstract

Language users are impacted by sociolinguistic factors like semantics and pragmatics in every circumstance. Even in a proficiency test, those two contexts are present because they serve as the test's framework. In order to identify the semantic and pragmatic settings in the TOEFL test simulation for the Listening component, research was done. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive strategy, using document analysis as the instrument. The study's focus was the FORUM TENTOR INDONESIA publication TOP NO.  1TOEFL SIMULATION. The outcome demonstrates that different kinds of semantic and pragmatic context were present in the test simulation. In 8 of the 30 questions that were analyzed, there were semantic contexts. Semantic contexts of three different types—meaning, semantic feature, and semantic roles—were discovered. Semantic Roles (4 Questions), Semantic Feature (2 Questions), and Meaning are the other predominant semantic types (2 Questions). The Pragmatic context quantities, however, are more prevalent than the Semantic context. Because one test item can contain multiple types of pragmatic language, 40 questions from the 30 studied items were found to have pragmatic contexts. Additionally, the majority of the pragmatic inquiries were of the Reference type since the narrator of the listening section used referring to formulate the question. Context, Politeness, Reference, and Speech Act are the different types of pragmatic context that can be encountered. Reference-type pragmatic contexts are the most common (25 questions).
