Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon before the presidential election that the use of religious symbols is prone to occur anywhere and at any time, including in the news, one of the media that covers religious tolerance during the presidential and vice presidential elections is the news media kompas.com. This research aims to determine the dynamics of religious tolerance in the lead up to the 2024 presidential and vice presidential elections on the media portal kompas.com. This research method uses a qualitative approach and is included in the type of library research, primary research data comes from the online media kompas.com, and secondary data. The data collection techniques used are document review or what is usually called documentation, and data analysis techniques, data reduction, data analysis and drawing conclusions. The results obtained were Kompas.com’s reporting regarding religious tolerance ahead of the 2024 presidential election with aspects according to Kevin Osborn, namely that acceptance in political news was used as recognition from other people. Tolerance in the aspect of patience is a form of availability for other people to be patient with other people’s beliefs, morals and philosophies even though they are different. Kompas.com’s framing of political news using Robert N. Entman’s framing theory in this news has described the state of religious tolerance in several regions. Apart from that, the discussion regarding religious tolerance involved several other important figures.Keywords: Religious Tolerance, 2024 Presidential Election, Kompas.com

Abstract

In the records of the Dutch colonial period, women's right to vote and be elected in the world of government was very marginalized, and even their voice had to be limited. Minahasa is one of the districts in North Sulawesi Province which has a female feminist figure, namely Maria Walanda Maramis, who was born in Kema Village, North Sulawesi. Maria Walanda Maramis is a feminist figure who played a role in fighting for women's political rights, especially the right to vote and be elected, especially women's political rights in the Minahasa region, North Sulawesi Province. Maria Walanda Maramis is aware of the importance of a mother's role in the household. At the time of Maria Walanda Maramis, many women in Minahasa had their rights in government life very oppressed, even their right to education was very limited, women's interests were ignored and tended to be put aside. It was this woman's condition that moved Maria Walanda Maramis' heart to fight. In this research, the author will see how Maria Walanda Maramis' thoughts gave birth to a feminist movement by building the PIKAT (Love of Mothers for Their Children) Organization, building schools, writing opinions in newspapers and campaigning to voice women's rights.

Abstract

In the United Kingdom, since 2016, discourse on the Brexit policy has emerged. This policy includes the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union (EU). This plan is due to financial contributions, namely that the UK is one of the largest contributors to the European Union budget. The official exit of the UK from the European Union on January 31 2020 at 11 pm GMT resulted in changes in economic flows in Europe. The aim of this research is to examine in more depth the research on changes in the dynamics of post-Brexit international trade, with case studies of the UK and the European Union. The method in this research uses a literature study and literature review approach. Literature study analysis has the advantage of providing a comprehensive review, such as a broad overview but focusing more on aspects of the problem raised from different points of view. The literature study approach is also able to identify research gaps according to trends and developments. The research results reveal that the UKGovernment's strategy includes implementing seasonal worker visa laws, implementing a points-based immigration system,formulating the 2020 agricultural policy, encouraging local workers and automation. Investment concerns which are part of the trade-economic aspect, from the Brexit policy itself, caused the British economy to experience a decline, making other countries such as Japan worried that their investments in the UK would suffer losses. But on the other hand, there is a positive impact for the UK with the existence of the Single Market.

Abstract

This research is entitled Populist Politics Harnojoyo (Analysis of Palembang City Development Strategies). The purpose of this study is to see Harnojoyo's populist forms and how Harnojoyo's populist activities in Palembang City. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques with literature study and decommunation. Primary data sources through observations of events regarding Harnojoyo's policies, secondary data sources in the form of books, journals, writings and the results of populist analysis, articles, internet, news. The theory used is populist theory. The results of Harnojoyo's populist political research show that working for the people and power to produce populist programs and at the same time absorb people's aspirations to build Palembang city is seen as still listening to people's aspirations, Harnojoyo's populist is a strategy to win people's hearts.

Abstract

This research is about the internalization of national political values and the cultivation of ideology towards the regeneration process carried out by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle of OKI Regency to its cadres.This research aims to find out how the internalization of national political values and the cultivation of ideology towards the regeneration process of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle of OKI Regency. The research data was collected through direct interviews with informants, namely PDIP members.This data is processed using data condensation, data presentation, drawing conclusions.The theory used in the research is Herman Giescake's theory in the theory there are 4 definitions of political education including; 1.Bildungwissen 2.Orientierrungwissen 3.Verhaltungsweisen 4.Aktionwissen. The method used is qualitative descriptive .The results of this study show that the cultivation of political values and ideology carried out by the PDIP of OKI Regency is political education by using themes regarding national political values and party ideology, Gotong Royong Movement for Party Independence, and Internal Consolidation and Cadre Debriefing which utilizes the role of presenters to convey national political values and ideology. This can affect the success and failure of the regeneration process, and the Commitment of the PDIP Party Management, the existence of commitment will have an influence on the implementation of the internalization of values and the cultivation of ideology in the form of a mutual agreement between party administrators in carrying out one of the party's functions.

Abstract

This research discusses public perceptions regarding the extension of the village head’s term of office by 9 years in the Rambutan Subdistrict of Banyuasin Regency. In light of demonstrations by village heads demanding an extension of their terms, the researcher aims to understand how the community perceives this extension. The study aims to analyze public perceptions of extending the village head’s term from 6 to 9 years in the Rambutan Subdistrict of Banyuasin Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques involve interviews with village heads, community leaders, and residents. However, it’s important to note that while the majority of the community agrees with extending the village head’s term to nine years, this consensus doesn’t always imply positive impacts. Further analysis reveals that the agreement is primarily influenced by feudal societal norms, a lack of understanding about democracy, and limited political education.

Abstract

This study discusses women's representation in the regional leadership council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle for South Sumatra Province, which will focus on women's management in the regional leadership council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle for South Sumatra Province. Therefore, this study aims to find out how the role and process in women's representation in the management of the regional leadership council of the Indonesian democratic party of struggle for South Sumatra province. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Meanwhile, data collection techniques are carried out by interview and documentation methods. The primary data sources are six cadres of South Sumatra DPD PDIP . Secondary data sources are books, journals and related documents. In analyzing this research using the theory of the function of political parties. The results of this study show that the role of women administrators in South Sumatra DPD PDIP is carried out well and has the support of South Sumatra DPD PDIP and in the process of recruitment of administrators carried out with the stages of filling out the form, submitting the vision and mission, selection, determining women administrators, ratifying party management. The 30% female representation in the South Sumatra PDIP DPD has fulfilled the 30% requirement in not only the legislature but also in the management of women and female cadres of the South Sumatra PDIP DPD.

Abstract

This Research on Presidential Candidate Prabowo Subianto's gemoy political image ahead of the 2024 presidential election was motivated by the phenomenon of Prabowo's joget gemoy and the massive amount of gemoy comments on every post related to Prabowo on social media, especially TikTok. Therefore, this research aims to find out how the gemoy image of Presidential Candidate Prabowo Subianto emerged and its use in campaign activities. Researchers will dissect the problem using the political image theory proposed by Dan Nimmo. The data in this research is in the form of photos and videos as well as comments from netizens on social media and online news portals. Data was collected using data collection techniques from new media via the internet (Analyzing Virtual Data) by Winfriend Marotzki, Jens Holze and Dan Schnettler applying downloading and taking screenshots. Then it is analyzed using analytical techniques by means of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions by Miles and Hubberman. The results show that the gemoy image comes from the byname from netizens which was then strengthened by Prabowo using the political imaging strategy proposed by Nimmo theory, that is Pure publicity, Free-ride publicity, Tie-in publicity, and Paid publicity. Furthermore, the gemoy image continues to be used in the campaign attributes of Prabowo and the Advanced Indonesia Coalition legislative candidates.

Abstract

Building a politics of recognition in a multicultural society. This research was conducted in Sumber Mulyo Village, Muara Sugihan District, Banyuasin Regency and used social identity theory from Henri Tajfel in Hogg's identity theory which stated that there are three reasons for building a politics of recognition, namely, self-categorization, social comparison and interactional models. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative. The data collection method for this research is through interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that there are three reasons for building a politics of recognition, namely, self-categorization by attracting public interest through promising work programs, especially among farmers and youth, social comparison carried out by following the customs and customs of the Javanese people and interactional models by studying and mastering the culture of Javanese society to gain political recognition from the majority ethnic community. Two factors influence the victory of a village head candidate from an ethnic minority to gain recognition from the community. The first is the structural factor of the winning team. Second, the influence factor of the individual history of the village head candidate shows that the community is starting to think about electing a village head candidate from an ethnic minority and a politics of recognition is being formed among the people of Sumber Mulyo Village, Muara Sugihan District, Bnyuasin Regency.

Abstract

This research discusses the Political Economic Review of the Traditional Petroleum Business Chain Network in Babat Toman District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The background of this research is that Babat Toman District is an area that has abundant potential oil reserves but illegal mining activities thrive on the assumption that management is not managed properly. This research uses a research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data in this research was obtained through direct observation and interviews with illegal miners and communities around the mining location. This research aims to find out how the network of actors in the petroleum business operates in the drilling process in the region. The theory used in this research is actor network theory which was initiated by Bruno Latour. The research results show that there are two main categories of petroleum mining in Sungai Angit Village, namely mining in old wells which is officially regulated and traditional mining which is often illegal. The oil mining actor network in Sungai Angit Village involves various actors, including authorities such as the government, mining companies, capital owners, land owners and miners. The interactions between these actors form a complex network in oil mining and processing activities. The process of processing old well oil involves various tools and collaboration between the community, organizations such as KMK, and companies such as PT. PBSA and PT Petro Muba. Even though it is traditional, the management and tools used have been improved to achieve optimal efficiency.
